Don't trip ;-) a golden rule. Love the gang saw, I just picked up one myself to back up my bandmill anxious to get it up and running, thanks for the video.
This is how a lot old sawmills operate. There is little guarding. You respect the machines and dont work tired, drunk, or stoned or you may get hurt. Don't know why this referred to as "hillbilly". This old mills are everywhere
Looks/is dangerous but you just have to respect the equipment. I started throwing cubs(firewood pieces) when I was 8-9 years old. I stood on packed snow and sawdust next to 30 inch saw blade catching the sawed off pieces of aspen. My dad, brother and I did that for 10 years without any accidents.
That looks awesome, would be cool to own a little setup like that you can operate with just one man, i see you gotta bandmill too, probably an edger too if you have a little gangsaw, at the sawmill I work at we have what’s called a bowsaw and it’s a three blade edger and a six blade gangsaw in one machine and man that thing is a work out if the resaw sends a bunch of cants to run through it
Well it could be dangerous but so is walking across the street if you don't pay attention. Looks like you could really produce with that set up though.
Safety Sally in the comments saying OMG 😲 this is so dangerous. They probably don't think twice about driving to the drive thru and ordering a heart attack in a sack. 🤣
Nothing hillbilly about that you gotta know your shit to make one of those. Just ask essential craftsman he made one. I'd say though the lack of safety was hillbilly but right there what we watched is the last piece of America no OSHA involvement if you get hurt you get hurt. Just like thing were in the past.
Hill billy people are smart engineers who make it happen and work hard doing it! Great 👍 I love your way of living!

This is the kind of brilliancy that makes America great.
That looks and works fantastic good job young man
God this looks obscenely dangerous. I love it.
Forget about fingers, we're talking about losing limbs now.
What a super cool setup!

It’s hillbilly because I am a hillbilly it’s a name we call our self’s it’s a way of life peaceful and mostly simple
@@PALSRide AMEN from one hillbilly to another!

It'd probably blow his mind to think that we produce 1.2 million board feet a day in a modern mill.
Awesome!
Love your setup. Thanx for sharing.

Looks like pallet wood maybe? Seems pretty purpose built

iv seen videos of people walking across the street giving the driver the vs
what happens walks in to street light
v's to you mate.
LOTS worse things than this. Likie the sign at the mill I grew up with down the road at the cutoff saw,' No Stupid People Beyond This Point'!
You guys making pallet wood, doesn't seem that long
HELLLLL NNAWWWWW!!!! GET THEM SLABS OUT FROM BEHIND THAT WHEEL!!!
Nerves of steel.
THIS is the way.
A great setup I love it how often do you run it ?
At times everyday but we’ve been building a lot of new homes lately so it’s just waiting now
not to often a few times a year
Wasting a lot of good lumber!
Safety Sally in the comments saying OMG 😲 this is so dangerous. They probably don't think twice about driving to the drive thru and ordering a heart attack in a sack. 🤣
who makes the green rip saw?
hi there real nice john
I know these Machines do they job and they are years old but 😲 one slip and no finders or arm 😲 no safety officer there 🤔 stay safe chaps 👍
That's how old sawmills are. You respect the machines and you don't get hurt. I have been around several. Some slightly more advanced.
why dont you stay down the pub
you cut your selve on a beer mug
what will that change to have a safty officer on your shoulder
Never faced a back kicking piece of wood i asume.
Wood for pallets. I had a relative that did this years ago in Missouri
what are these pieces being used for?
It looks like a pallet mill. Wood pallets for freight is my guess
The short mill wood can be pallets or if we are cutting hardwood cabinet material the gang saw can be set for many different things
No chickens in this coop 🤣
If it's your equipment you know what it will do and have respect for you and don't be silly around it
When wood is needed and safety is irrelevant.
Thought my set up was dangerous cost me 2 fingers all ready, but after seeing this I would let my kids use it.
You are right next to the graveyard, literally.
Man that is so dangerous........have one of those carbides come off and it's going in your arm
Think you should have a clamp
Making pallets?
We use to
How many hp is the motor
20
Too close to the blade
What if you trip!?
Don’t trip it would be a bad day
how could he trip every move was calculated and allowed for
no giddy about or moving quickly.
What are you doing with that many of the same size board
bits for pallets by the look of it
seems like you havnt been out in the wild world
That saw is ridiculously dangerous!!!
Co to za drewno topola?

no thanks
Just a matter of time until that dude is missing a vital body part, made me cringe just thinking about it!
Vital?
We need Trump back.
You people clearly don't know what a "gang saw" is, the hillbilly part is dead on though.
Dafety Standard sounds like a joke!!!!
This is a lesson on how not to saw lumber. Just a matter of time before an accident happens.
every time you cut a loaf of bread
drive the car
bang a nail in
chop wood
pick up a smashed beer glass
whats so dangerous
he lives with it
so do you
Really, no eye protection ? Add that on top of the open unprotected blade. Its not uncommon to find a nail in a log or two. Wow!
