I only wonder why all 'futuristic' houses are white boxes. Its not like a white box building is modern. Its pretty old (villa savoye 1933) and FERRY inefficient.
It turns gray overtime or gets affected by the lightning. They better could turn all surface in an energy source and/or turn it green. Like growing vegetables on it.

This kind of life automation makes me thoughtful. I suppose the equipment used for this "smart home" will cost a fortune. And the question is, in which way, will something like this, benefit everyday people? (apart from elderly or disabled)
Knowing if the appliances are on, if climate is correct, lighting on in stairwells and knowing energy consumption can be useful for everybody.
And this is only scathing the surface. This technology at the moment is like mobile phones 20 years ago only the rich could afford them and people saw little use for them.

This would be nice to have, but hackers could have a field day with this sort of home. They could turn your home temperature up to 95 degrees, turn off your refrigerator, turn on all the water in the house and set your alarm to blaring while you were 50 miles away from home.

This is all pretty basic technology. This video is 3 years old so I didn't expect much but sensors are pretty basic. Stores have them. We mostly just live in regular houses so this seems like some future of mankind to most of you guys. I do like the house I'm not saying it's bad because I would love to have this house but this tech has been around for a while.

not much. The home would probably cost maybe a little over average for a standard home. The cool new computer and electronic tech would probably add roughly $100,000 (60-70k pounds I believe) to the bill.
And what about Hackers hhmm?.
easy. All the stuff that doesn't need to be connected to anything outside the property goes on an Isolated or LAN network. An isolated network connects everything in it through the router but not to the motem (the motem connects stuff to the rest of the world).

Thats crazy how far technology has come with in my generation, im a 90s kid an man this iz like the jetsons type shit lmfaooo it has its ups an it also has its downs, the security idea is a good idea but think about all the hackers, and how advanced they've became ,also the people who put this together can also see what yr doing. But Im kool with a regular ol house made out of regular ol bricks, call me old fashioned...lol kool idea tho if it can run all on energy like solar panels an solar power energy thats freakin great but if not than well, it shuld be!

Since they do not show an actual home but only a simulation I am assuming that this is for simulated people. Not very human. Didn't hollywood construct a physical model of this about 30 or more years ago for the movie Sleeper?
Honestly I'd rather watch a Jetson's episode than this sterile shit to have a fantasy about a house that lets me go to waste.
So my dad installs knx system in the houses of rich people btw is not able to make my room smart xD it's kinda expensive to make it so... I would like to have a smart house too...

This is plain crazy. I'd much rather have a normal house, than a totally automated one. Life is getting crazy. We are storing more and more information to our computers than to our minds. The only thing I'd take from KNX or those so called "smart homes" manufactures is the security system. THAT'S ALL! The other stuff is just useless , for the lazy people. And, these words are coming from an automation engineer in the making.
I totally understand you, but home automation can be especially useful for elderly and disabled people who wish to live independently.
maybe you should have had other plans for your career
your idea of normal is considered lazy for people who live more rustic than you. going backwards has the same logic structure as standing still as far as technology goes
Most of the automation like this can be useful when you are coming home at night or getting up in the morning to go to work.
Things like climate control and lighting control such as on stair ways could be useful for safety and peace of mind. Also being able to know if appliance have been left on is good as well.
I have all of these types of equipment in my home but I also go out and exercise and active hobbies as well. I eat well and look after my health. But I know people who use little technology but are just sitting around all day stuffing their faces full of sugars.
