Whenever i fix my own city i swear i can hear in my head Biffa's voice judging my decisions: "That intersection is way to close to this one" or when i make a change thats improves traffic i can hear the "look, it's already moving". It's magic.

You should also look into road hierarchy as another tool for the toolbox. It helps so much once you get high density and high population.
Guides can be found from city planner plays cities skylines channel
Arterial large main roads with limited connections to maximize movement, like 4-6 lane wide roads.
Collector roads that are typically wide 4 lane roads, they connect between arterial roads and collect local road traffic.
2 lane local roads, maybe small 4 lane roads, what most buildings are connected to but mostly local traffic should be moving through it. They should typically only connect to collectors and not arterial.

Hey biffa I have a challenge for you! (Really hard in my opinion)
Design a district in a way that once non-pubic buildings are constructed you can't demolish them (you could check them as historic one by one, but please don't it'll take ages!). You can only demolish only things built by you. This means that you need to think ahead all possible problems and solve them during design face and if one slips you can only solve them with soft changes or replacing your stuff (which probably will cause another issue later).
Just a district of a considerable size like the one with canals. I think it will be fun to watch you dealing with it. Hope it does not demand too long to complete (content wise)

So you start off with save A, then when you want to save again, make save B, and again do the same and make save C, then when you need to save again after that just overwrite save A.

If you don't meet people's needs in a city center they stop coming, so yes, you're right. But then the city center turns into a slum.

Thanks to Biffa, I've been playing a ton of City skylines against my brother and having challenges.
My traffic is always 90%-94% thanks to Biffa (without mods).
My brothers is always around 50% ish.
    I'll always sing
    "Time for a rounddddd abouttttt!"
Everytime I had too much traffic 🤣.
My brother doesn't understand and builds in a grid format... I told him he needs less intersections but he won't listen 🤣.
I really enjoy the traffic management in the game, just wished I had the traffic manager mid... AI only use 2 lanes at most... Far left and far right 😭.
Thanks Biffa for the videos as always 👍.
    Keep up the work!
P.S. any tips on how to get population quickly?
Also, I keep having "not enough buyers" in the industry zone... My traffic is always very good thanks to Biffa but it seems I'm a bit bad when it comes to population / industry....
My brother would be near 60,000 people when I'm at 16,000.... If even that...

I really like the way you explain as you demonstrate and your good sense of humor and patience while doing so. Showing your mistakes, issues and adjustments is also quite helpful. Also, wondering why you didn't use a parking structure similar to the one between your stadium and amusement park in the area where that one building was being difficult. It would cut down on the paving of your greenspace and allow for even more parking than what you made, just like in the real world. Thanks as always for some great entertainment ... fantastic.

Excellent topic -- I've always thought parking was ignored in Cities: Skylines. I didn't know that the Traffic tool would show me buildings that are parking-deficient! I've definitely got to build some Big Parking Lots!

I like your videos very much. You do a really great job.
I have a suggestion for TeaVille: In the IT-Cluster you have a big Monorail U-turn. I would connect the monorail from the other side with the monorail/train hub. So the avenues around the train/monorail hub are free for tram/trolley bus.
    And, if I build a monorail I always avoid 90° curves. ;-)

I think the assumption is that, when they come out of the buildings, they get their car from the underground parking (not their pocket). Surface parking is increasingly rare in modern cities, there are laws requiring new buildings to have underground parking built in.

The issue with the sinking metro tunnel is linked to the 81 tiles mod. I have this bug and you must rebuild your tunnel if you want it to work properly

Does improving parking lead to an increase of cars on the roads?
Does bad parking force your cims to use public transport?

    • @dlwatib
      @dlwatib 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

No. Cims just put their cars in their pockets if they can't find parking places.

The thing with the pedestrian walkways at the roundabout is that sure in the game it makes sense to do because it helps keep your traffic entering and exiting the roundabout moving more, but in real life, no one is going to walk all the way up that then part way around it then all the way back down just to cross to the next street over instead of just walking across the street lol

The multi storey large carpark fit better in dense high rise area. This new carpark assets you show would suit more for malls, stations and airport builds.
    Edit:
Thanks for introducing this carpark assets. I would like to try build underground carpark with it.

Are there any multi-level parking structures for Cities: Skylines? Those should help with the parking needs without taking up so much real estate. Do the border roads from the big parking lot mod count as roads for building placement and zoning? If so, it might be interesting to make an office park with some of the buildings zoned from a central parking lot.
