I own a kamasu 2 (red and brown dial/bezel) and just got this orient solar panda in the video. I was hoping my kamasu strap code would fit, but it doesn't... Does anyone know if the mako 2 bracelet works?
I’m conflicted. I discovered that Orient was releasing this approximately 5 minutes after I pulled the trigger and bought a white panda Orient Neo 70s chronograph. It should be here April 17th. I own a black/gold Kamasu which is absolutely one of my absolute favorites in my collection so obviously my interest is piqued. Until I get the Neo 70s in my possession it’ll be hard to tell if I’ll be remorseful that I didn’t wait a few weeks for this. I think I may end up preferring it because while I love the Kamasu look, I just don’t know how I feel about the rotating diver-style bezel on a chronograph. We shall see. Thanks for the video! Not too many people are talking about this yet.
How do you like the neo watch? I picked up the green mako chronograph I just got it yesterday, very impressed. The made completely in japan always peeks my interest and I understand the neo is also a made in japan model
@@sheepdog-kp9hb Almost 2 years later and I’m really glad I went with it. Very versatile with straps, the overall look is clean and simple. I like it a lot!
@LombardoJoe cool I'm glad, I appreciate the reply, I'm thinking about a neo for my next piece. Something about orient has always made them my favorite among the big 3 Japanese watch manufacturers
@@sheepdog-kp9hbI absolutely agree. I currently own 5 Orients (Neo 70s, the aforementioned black/gold Kamasu, a white-dial Bambino V2, a red dial V8, and a rose gold/white V9. The Neo is a decent-kept secret and the price remains low. The one thing I will say is, the bracelet is terrible. It’s disappointingly light and cheap feeling - but for this price point it’s not unwarranted. When switching to a new strap, do NOT use the original pins. They’re weak and barely hold themselves in. Mine fell off almost right after I got it and scratched slightly in a parking lot. I got new stiffer springs and it corrected the problem.
I do like most of Orient's offerings, but: 1) the logo looks like it belongs on a curry packet, 2) Those bezels desperately need a coin edge instead.........(like the Kano)
I was hoping for a 40mm. At almost 43mm it’s a little big for me.
Ive got the white panda for 220 euros, it looks very nice!
After removing a few links it fit 6.5 inch wrist perfect.
Similar looks and movement as the Seiko speedtimer for half the price. It's a no brainer
This watch wears way smaller than other divers. Feels like 38mm or less
Agree. I was surprised when I wore it at a store.

Are these not being released in the US? Can't find the chronograph versions anywhere
Same here, i think its a jdm model

Does anyone know a good source for JDM Watches, like this green dial one?
Interesting addition to the Mako family. I think however that a GMT bezel would make more sense...
And 200m water resistance.

Great insights!
