RainWatch: NZ’s 7 Day rain forecast as low pressure lingers
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 16 มิ.ย. 2024
- NZ’s broken weather pattern continues for another week with low pressure in the area but high pressure driving in some colder air, especially for southerners and easterners (if “easterners” is even a thing!?).
Heavy downpours are likely in the north of both main islands over the next week. However, even with our 7 day rainfall map the instability caused by this low and nearby high means these totals may shift around a bit… and of course any shift in the forecast means NZ’s mountains and ranges will change things even further. But here’s the latest thinking as of today.
And our place of the day is - the wonderful southern city of Invercargill - we love you Invercargill!! :) www.ruralweather.co.nz/foreca... - บันเทิง
Very sassy about Invercargill today Phil and I'm here for it. I watch every day, I live in a small rural town and already know where it is on a map so I can work it out on your maps!
Never a complaint Phil, your format is the best there is. I show it to friends abroad, they are all impressed. Thanks for your work.
It's fine Phillip, Invercargill has there own climate
Inverwho.....🤣
Bit cheeky today Phil!😅 Poor Invercargil!
Lots of shade forecast for Inbredcargill today. Thanks for your service, Best weather forecast around👍
There's a place called Invercargill in New Zealand? Wonder where that is on the map!
I am from the far South and in my wee area we have only had about 3 sunny days in 5 weeks but today I so greatfull to say I am enjoying a completely dry day after so much rain here.
Thank you, I really enjoy watching your rainwatch forecast. It is very valuable information and I watch weekly. thank you.
Perhaps, as an anniversary treat you could include Invercargill on the map - just as a one time thing! Superb presentation
Never mind, you can't please everybody Phil. Keep up your great work.
Thank you for the update and I am hoping there will be a lift with low, it is getting tiresome now. O look suns out..... and its gone. Nevermind. Thank you for trying.
Thanks for the update team. Now, I'd like to complain about this damn low sticking around - can you tell it to move along now ?😄.
Keep up the great work Philip, best weather updates I've seen.!
Love it!! Weather with some bite today from Phil you legend!! :)
Thank you..
Invercargill getting a wee slap up lol😂 excellent work as usual with forecast. I learn so much with your explanations.
Loving the weather in Southland 😄
Enjoy your presentation (even the friendly sas of Invercargill!) Have downloaded the WW app and enjoy the information and real time updates of some data there too. Take care.
Thanks heaps! :)
Thx Phil
Awesome 👌
But Phil you never mention Matai in the Grey Valley and after all we're a population of 16 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Will do better!! :)
Cargill's inbhir is the Southernmost and Westernmost city in NZ. What are the 10 best things to do there ?
well ? _ ? . . . what is the one best thing to do there ? Is there life there ?
There is life, but not as we know it. Movement had been detected once.
never mind Invercargill ever again ! Focus on Hawarden
People will always complain, I however applaud you Phil and team! Thank you for your succinct weather reporting.
Cheers for that! :)
Thanks!
Thank you for the extra support :)
Thank you for your weather updates today.
thanks Phil
Thank you :)
Hi phill , I live on board my yacht in the bay of Islands, me and my fellow booties watch yr show every day , and we plan our voyages into the pacific with your info , keep up the good work ,cheers
Kenny
Thanks very much for the awesome support :) Glad we can help you guys out
I’ve been scratching my head to work out what those shaded numbers on the horizontal dotted line represent, and before everyone says “pressure gradients” they aren’t the numbers I’m referring to..the ones I’m talking about may be for example 5214 or 4472..
I’m assuming it the height of the pressure system or the height at which the pressure was measured..
Also, I’m a bit peeved that Phill never mentions Gulargembone (NSW) in the Australian report..😂😂😂
If peoples main concern is that their remote town isn’t mentioned in a weather report than their lives must be pretty good 😄😄
Haha thanks for the cool comment. Those numbers with the dotted lines are a bit annoying to show in our maps but we can't remove them sadly. They measure high altitude air pressure (higher than mountains up towards where planes fly). It's helpful when big warm or cold changes are moving around otherwise they are of no help.
No complaints from me Phil, you are the man!
Thanks heaps!!
I love watching your forecasts, no complaints here 😊
Thank you Sharon! :)
Awesome Phil, I won’t complain about Kaitaia not being on the map, I know where I live😂
Invercargill is often sheltered by Stewart Island from the worst of Southerly weather.
Great commentary. Thank you.
Thanks
Grey and damp in Gizzy 😕. Thanks
Great forecast Phillip and was entertaining too I myself always find your Rural weather forecast most helpful and so up to date
Especially where I live tucked below a lovely hill valley in Hillsborough Otautahi Christchurch Thanks mightily 💃🕺🏾🕊🌊🌳⛰🌞💖
That's awesome to know, thank you! We know of a number of people who have their local WW or Rural Weather forecast while they watch our videos to make sense of it all on a more local basis. :)
Your very informative to all towns and cities when relevant,, well said response to those unhappy,, thankyou for your awesome work..
Thank you!
Dear Invercargillians, I can help, You are located at the bottom area of the Land
Cheers!
Loving your work Phillip ❤
Many thanks! :) Phil.
Feels like autumn in Auckland today.
Looking forward to my holiday to queensland australia next Monday.
Come on Invers stop whinging so much please 😂... I love your forecasts Philip they really help plan out my days especially on my bike... Also from Invers here!
Woohoo, a positive comment from Invers! :) Thanks!!
And where did the Virgin Australia plane go - well, it wasn't back to Queenstown because they knew better.
Where's shadbolts village. Invercargills yeah. No complaints here. Granny's getting a sleep out.
Well said today Phil iñvercargill nice place was born there, gets some good weather to be fair
If you like steel grey skies, constant wind and considerable rain you will be okay
Awesome 😊
you have the gift Phil
You are the most informative weather forcast on the net. I listen from the Sunshine Coast and I learn more about our outlook than I do from the A.B.C.and the other sub standard providers I pay for with my tax dollars. I lived in New Plymouth 1974,1975 and will never forget how kind and generous the Kiwis were to me. You have a beautiful country the envy of many around the world. Keep your sense of humour mate thosefolks i Invercargill should lighten up a little.
Why can't you mention my specific house in your reports?!
Phil, you really need to pronounce the aRgh in Invercargill!.
We have two small water tanks overflowing with a third one waiting to be connected to lean-to over back porch .. expecting a dry hot summer .. for small sections the tanks are great for watering pots etc .. BUT please turn off the rain so i can clean out my bird aviary ... Ta .. 😊
Nice one phil they would probably like you to roll your rrrs as well cheers Tim
I didn't people in Invercargill were so sensitive
It's only a dozen or so :)
What's that city down there???? Invercargill that's right. Me: just ROFLING
Until Invercargill learns to count its Tuatara correctly I'd ignore them too ;-P
love it!
Good laugh today……….Invercargil🤣🤣🤣
Ahh, but don't forget invercargill! 😂🤣😂
Must be having a hard day .
Thanks for the heads up. Im in Bay of Islands. Happy to not be mentioned as I can read the rain radar key...thats all I need to know. We,ve been yellow and red all night and still pouring 😂
Thanks for the update - and looks like more rain on the way too!
You didn't mention Mangaweka Phil😢😂
I love it
Great and interesting...
Lol😅😅😂. Just put invercargill on the map. Poor Phil trying to justify lol. Phil, stop being a stirrer and go and make a cup of tea. Lol😂 Enjoying the entertaining forecasts. Nicely done. ❤
Next update 19/6/24
Te Kuiti is not on the map anymore, is it gone?
That high SE of us is acting a lot like the one that helped cause all that flooding in Auckland 27th Jan last year, not moving along.... Maybe were lucky this low isn't very deep
Yes this could definitely be a worse set up!
yes, Invercargill needs to be on the map. shown where it is because it has always been part of New Zealand's larger places.
Our videos aren't about the main centres though - our websites and app do that. We just show random points on some video maps to indicate general temperatures nationwide.
@@WeatherWatchTV be different and put on Kaitia and Invercargill. The far ends of NZ people like to see what is going at the extreme places both ends. Its smart.
@@rossbarnett3759 We also have no control over what place names exist on these maps. If we had our way we'd have only the smallest towns on the maps :)
Thankyou for your very informative weather forecast.
Top product as always thank you Phil. Dumb question if I may. What constitutes a low? I see this one is over a 1000 . Is it the level of pressure or where it is in the mix of systems that makes it a low.
Hi there, not a dumb question at all. Average air pressure is 1013 so usually from there and below is low pressure. Most lows in NZ are around 990 to 1010, but some drop into the 960s (Gabrielle for example, and often Southern Ocean storms south of NZ are in the 970s to 950s)
Well done lol , do still enjoy you forecast though.
Poor old Invercargill, so left out. Indeed I am totally mortified that we here is the metropolis (not) of Huapai does not get a mention. Is there no justice in this world 😂
Lol!
I didn't use to like your reports, but now I do.. you are like a Vrod,
Haha that's an awesome piece of feedback. Thank you!
@@WeatherWatchTV you are actually real good. clear and understandable. But can you make it snow in mahia for the the kids this year?
@@GoldiefromMahia Oh that would be so awesome! We're try our best to make it happen!!
it's fine Phillip, Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones said Invercargill is the ass hole of the world
What kinds of wind do you think we will get?
Hard to know yet due to the large low still around and falling apart. Nothing too major just yet.
WHERE IS THE INVERCARGIL NAME MATE
👍👍
Inver...something, never heard of it.
😅😅😅😅 that was classic
I dont live in invercargill. But i do remember having a shit there once.
Because Invercargill is the capital of Southland Richard Head.
Rain, sounds like a forecast for British Isles 😂
In regards to the app, is there plans to add an hour by hour temperature chart similar to the rain/cloud trends graph?
Really really need/want to know the temperature throughout the day not just the high and the low temp for the day
Hi there, thanks for using our app! If you go to "Trends" go the grey bar at the top and scroll it sideways to reveal more maps. It matches everything at RuralWeather.co.nz. Cheers :)
Less Jafa traffic would be better 😐
Quick general surf report never hurt anyone did it Phil . Thanks
More the time it takes to focus on it - we're short staffed as it is sorry!
We are a city Southland isn’t invercargill
Yes but Invercargill is in Southland. We don't do local city forecasts in our videos... why talk about everyone's main centre forecasts in a video when you can see that in our app or site in 2 seconds? Instead, our videos are all about the big picture driving your weather. Have our Invercargill 10 day forecast open while you watch our video - it will help you drill down deeper and explain any weather fluctuations along the way.
first
