Thank you for your honesty. They screwed the ACC over last year also, particularly FSU who was undefeated, won the ACC Championship game and found itself on the outside looking in. Hopefully this will bring understanding as to why the ACC is a bit upset.

If Clemson makes SMU look like they do not belong in the game then you will not hear any arguments from me if they do not get in. SMU alum here and I have no issue with this. ND played a pretty good schedule this year. Not alot of elite teams but plenty of very good teams in and out of the top 25. They blew teams out much like SMU but they had a larger differential. That is a good team. Would love to see how SMU-ND game would turn out.
SMU should opt out of the ACC Championship game. They have more to lose by potentially playing Clemson and losing. If they opt out, it has a much higher likelihood of bouncing Alabama from contention. If they lose to Clemson, they could potentially get ranked lower than Alabama and run a much higher risk of losing their playoff spot.
