- The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is the place where the Vietnamese memories of the Vietnam War, which ended in 1975 after 20 years of struggle, are preserved. Today it houses 8 permanent thematic exhibitions and various other special collections and shows the beginnings of the war, the causes, the origins and the course of wars of aggression. There is an impressive collection of photographs taken by 134 war correspondents from 11 nations, all of whom died during the Vietnam War. Sufferers, bombing victims and victims of Agent Orange can be seen in the photos. Since Agent Orange affected the descendants of the Vietcong, the Vietnamese army, it causes an increased rate of birth defects to this day.
