    This might be your most fun episode yet, which means you're doing it the most right. Keep a small plastic crate for when you use the bike to go shopping, bungee it to the luggage rack.

    As a lifelong dual sport rider, I really loved this video. You completely captured the freedom of it, and it's really hard to show that to street-only people, who don't seem to get it. At the moment I have a 96 DR650 with 61,500 miles, with the purple frame and a bright green milk crate zip-tied to the rear rack. It's a pack horse, and I love it. I can't wait to get back into some desert riding. A bit snowy here at the moment.

  • @jjock3239

    More on zip ties. If you insert a small, flat, screwdriver bit in the little block on the ladder side of the strip, the tab will release, and you will be able to undo the zip tie without even having to cut it.
    I miss my Husky 400-8 spd. I gave it to my brother in law in 1975. If I would have kept it, I wouldn't have survived to my age of ripeness. Soon, I will be able to think of speeding right along in my scooter (with my little pendant flying). It sucks to have a young brain and an old body.

With the fold down handle bars I wouldn’t think it would block you view if it were mounted to the front bumper.Thats where my ebike ended up,we had two bikes the commercial rack did great but I know you would be building one. If we towed the boat all the extraneous BULL BLEEP like the bikes ended up in the boat. Ten thousand thumbs up you are on my must watch list.

  • @alancoller1602

    With your scooter under bus one thing u can’t get them wet. Tyres the tubes are porous they will leak without getting a nail. If u get a leak out on track they are hard to fix. I have one the same I had endless trouble with tubes best thing I done was put goop in the tube fixed the problem. Brakes work great but the pads are only about 2 mill thick hard use will wear them out quick. There is a feature on settings engine break 1-3, I found 2 was ok 3 is to savage,only works when u apply hand brake. Like your channel.

    Hmmm, Great video as always.
    I read the warning, and it seems like we should listen. However.....I play with the Shimano Steps electric bike motors and batteries. I have to admit I never worry about the Shimano batteries exploding and burning down my neighborhood because I didn't have a box of sand ready to drop the flaming battery into.
    tHanks for a fun video! (Tassels vs non Tassels....I vote non tassel, but I do have a mint condition Schwinn on the wall with tassels).

    13:50 - Interestingly enough, front brake on the right lever is the standard in the UK for push bikes.

    • @AgentJayZ
      @AgentJayZ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interestingly, they are called push bikes. Pushing a bicycle instead is one of those things you just don't do, unless you have a flat tire...
      I agree with the low buck philosophy. All North American bikes are set up wrong. Euro-style, with the front brake on the right really makes sense, especially if you also ride a motorbike.

    • @_zzpza
      @_zzpza ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AgentJayZ You know the etymology of the term was something I have never paid any attention to before. I've just done some cursory research and it seems they were referred to as "push bikes" because you had to push against the pedals. The term seems to have come from Australia, and was meant to differentiate between human powered bikes and ICE powered bikes. I don't think the term is used outside UK and commonwealth countries.

  • @kentstansberry9748
    @kentstansberry9748 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You can totally reuse a ziptie without having to cut them. Take a tiny flat-blade screwdriver or even an unfolded paperclip and wedge it into the locking tab until the tie unlocks. I've done this so many times, I've lost count. This can be done to any size ziptie. Those mini screwdriver kit's are pretty easy to find as well.

    I'm about to get a version of the bike that claims 1000 watt motor, 30mph. Super excited. I've had a seated scooter, the Phantom R1 from Costco, for a couple months now & is really chill to ride & I love it; But you have to get off & stretch your legs a few times. Single 550 watt motor, 16 mph. Those double motor scooters are really cool, I'd want a seat on one as you also discovered 😂

    That's the biggest problem with every folding bike I've ever used, they lock open but don't lock closed so you're always fighting it trying to open back up on you when you pick it up to put it inside someplace. If they just put a catch point for holding it closed it would be so much easier to handle.

  • @marchettejw
    @marchettejw ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Be careful with that rear hub, I've got a ride1up reev1 that uses the same bafang wheels. They had a chain issue with the bike that caused the freewheel to seize and it cracked the freewheel cover on the motor. Otherwise the bike is fun as hell to ride around.

    I'm coming to the parade pretty late, but if loading the ebike is problematic, I'm sure a small electric winch attached to an extending bar to lift and then swing/slide the bike into the storage area would make light work of it.

  • @daviddaw999
    @daviddaw999 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Please be extra careful when charging these vehicles. I wouldn't recommend charging the bike when it it's in the storage, because if the battery goes into thermal runaway you'll lose the bus. It's best charged when it is away from the bus, so that if it catches fire it will not take everything else with it. Same goes for the scooter.

    60km/h is typically what you can go in residential zones
    80km/h tend to be more common on main roads with 2 or more lanes within a city or town
    100km/h tends to be more the speed limit of pathed mountain passes.
    120km/h tends to be highway speed.
