One of the favourite songs of my dear father. He passed away this year, on May 26…He’s gone forever…didn’t have chance to say that I love him…keep re-listening this song…I love you papa ❤️
Same here, my dad passed away this year on Feb 29, at the age of 62. He was an extremely healthy man, so when he died for Aortic Dissection , it really like life just giving me a sucker punch. I didn’t have any chance to say goodbye neither. So , you are not alone.
UU. Simon and Garfunkel.
Beautiful music. I first heard Simon and Garfunkel in the Seventies. My favorite song was Bridge over troubled waters. And also I'm Just A Poor boy. I used to hear the LP on Gramophone again and again. Those were the days. During those days it was very difficult to get a Record. Then, they would get scratches on the Record by playing again and again, and then the sound would deteriorate. Now every thing is changed. We get any music or any song so easily. And the sound is so pure and perfect now. Happy Listening.
We saw the wonderful Art Garfunkel in concert and he was mesmerising. Just standing stock still on the stage and singing his heart out with no effort. Thanks Art.
cudowna melodia, cudowny głos, doskonała gitara . Mogę słuchać bez końca tych nutek 🎶🎵🎶 nostalgia przebija i tęsknota .Doskonale zgrany duet . Pozdrawiam serdecznie z Polski 😙😙💖💖
The original Condor Pasa written by Peruvian composer Alomia Robles was an orchestral piece written for a Zarzuela, where no Andean instruments were present (on the actual piece) Later, due to the sad melody and theme of mistreatment of the Indian, it caught on with Andean peoples that started performing and recording the song with Andean instruments such as pan flute etc., but originally the song did not have these instruments, as it was first written for a piano and string instruments.
Never forget to give the original song some love too. It inspired them greatly, even when this album flopped I’m sure he thought of El Condor Pasa, by Los Incas, fondly still. And I’m sure the traditional song stems way way back, farther than anyone can remember. Pay homage to your condors, your vultures and to your heritage. Always.
Actually was composed by peruvian musician Daniel Alomia Robles in 1913. The Inkas played that song in Paris where Paul Simon heard this for very first time

I used to play this album in my car, on a cassette tape, on loud for every journey, and my son would just listen but not say anything. Years later, I walked into his house, and he was playing these tunes. He said he loved this. A few years later, he passed away suddenly at 28 years old. 😢 It's now nearly 5 years since he passed, and I feel comfort when I listen to these songs. Thank you for your music, guys! Rest in peace charming, beautiful Conor 😍

Love this song so much and it's only the third best song on the album behind the title track and The Boxer. Just shows you how great the album was. Brilliant performance from Simon & Garfunkel.
It's amazing that songs back then often had intros that were almost a minute long and didn't sound like the actual song, but producers and DJs who create new songs from samples in the spirit of original hip hop are still pulling at them today. For example, DJ Shadow more or less made the intro to this song a completely independent track.
So beautiful. I've uttered this comment on other classic tunes, and I'll utter It here as well. Today's music can't hold a candle to music like this. And my comments were much harsher than that actually. There are some tunes that are okay from today's era. But, It still can't compare to musical arrangements such as Simon & Garfunkel's era - as well as many other tunes from that era. And believe me - I'm not old. I just appreciate good music. Just my opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail Yes I would, if I could, I surely would I'd rather be a hammer than a nail Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would Away, I'd rather sail away Like a swan that's here and gone A man gets tied up to the ground He gives the world it's saddest sound Its saddest sound I'd rather be a forest than a street Yes I would, if I could, I surely would I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would

Same here, my dad passed away this year on Feb 29, at the age of 62. He was an extremely healthy man, so when he died for Aortic Dissection , it really like life just giving me a sucker punch. I didn’t have any chance to say goodbye neither. So , you are not alone.

Love is most often shown, don't worry about the words. The words are nice but showing is much better.
Music today just isn't the same. The melodies are simple yet they touch the heart. This will always be my favorite song
Simon & Garfunkel had SO many great songs, this is my favorite!
Me too
Art has such a unique and mesmerizing voice. A wide range and very strong. And so pure. I love his voice. ❤️
And you are not the only one!!! ❤❤❤
Wonderful music. Brings back so many happy memories of the 70s. Art has such a beautiful voice.
1970
Condor Pasa is a Peruvian Zarzuela composed by Daniel Alomias Robles in 1913. The lyrics were later added by Simón and Garfunkel.
UU. Simon and Garfunkel.
See how easy is it to spot music that was made for the right reason...simply the love of making music ,that’s it
I find peace listening to this song in the mist of all things happening on the country, hardship, suffering, breakups......
Often its just hard to comprehend the greatness of many of these great artist's. It' all so wonderful!
Some of the best music ever recorded.
I first heard Andean music from them and fell in love with it.
Absolutely magical. One of my favourite songs of all time.
Awesome! Had the whole album and played it all the time over and over!
Thank you Simon and Garfunkel. Xxx
A true feast to the soul within. Nostalgic. Exhilarating. Divine Music.
Beautiful song. So beautifully composed.
We saw the wonderful Art Garfunkel in concert and he was mesmerising. Just standing stock still on the stage and singing his heart out with no effort. Thanks Art.
Such an ethereal song and music that touches your soul. I recently watched the 2014 movie Wild which features El Condor Pasa. So lovely and touching!
Watched Wild yesterday. Really moving and this song manages to express the drama perfectly.
@@danieldeboni8391Yes, indeed ... glad you got to see it!
cudowna melodia, cudowny głos, doskonała gitara . Mogę słuchać bez końca tych nutek 🎶🎵🎶 nostalgia przebija i tęsknota .Doskonale zgrany duet . Pozdrawiam serdecznie z Polski 😙😙💖💖
One of my all time favorites ❤
What an incredibly simple but truely beautiful song..they were legends..sound of silence another classic..
This song is peruvian, it is a cover
The original Condor Pasa written by Peruvian composer Alomia Robles was an orchestral piece written for a Zarzuela, where no Andean instruments were present (on the actual piece) Later, due to the sad melody and theme of mistreatment of the Indian, it caught on with Andean peoples that started performing and recording the song with Andean instruments such as pan flute etc., but originally the song did not have these instruments, as it was first written for a piano and string instruments.
Valuable insight, thanks.
Another one of the most beautiful songs it takes you to another era another time when life was nice
So very true!
The Inkas played that song in Paris where Paul Simon heard this for very first time
So many memories of the 70's and being a kid and my mother listening to this ❤❤❤❤
Viva a cultura nativa do nosso querido continente americano! Saudações do Brasil!
I'm not in their decades but I still Loved & really appreciate their songs w/ meaningful meanings....
Art garfunkel is greatest pop vocalist of all time in my opinion , together with paul simon they were truly magical and created some of the finest pop songs ever.❤
the best song in the world.

Hello 👋
I used to play this album in my car, on a cassette tape, on loud for every journey, and my son would just listen but not say anything. Years later, I walked into his house, and he was playing these tunes. He said he loved this. A few years later, he passed away suddenly at 28 years old. 😢 It's now nearly 5 years since he passed, and I feel comfort when I listen to these songs. Thank you for your music, guys! Rest in peace charming, beautiful Conor 😍
My condolences..
I’m listening & loving it, anyone else with me today? 11/09/19
‘I’d rather be a hammer than a nail’... I agree! ‘Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would’! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
But we can't .
I love all their songs. I grew up with it. I still get goosebumps
Me encantan Simon y Garfunkel .
Love this song so much and it's only the third best song on the album behind the title track and The Boxer. Just shows you how great the album was. Brilliant performance from Simon & Garfunkel.
The boxer might just be one of the greatest songs ever made. Hands down my favorite track on this album. ❤
One of my favourite.
great song!!!
Love from Russia❤❤
Cóndor pasa forever 🙌🏼❤️😍🇵🇪
It's amazing that songs back then often had intros that were almost a minute long and didn't sound like the actual song, but producers and DJs who create new songs from samples in the spirit of original hip hop are still pulling at them today. For example, DJ Shadow more or less made the intro to this song a completely independent track.
Such an iconic song by both paul simon & art Garfunkel. A real favourite of mine
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
couldn't put it better myself, and i'm getting old. 58?
so true, this music can make you relax and has a feel good genre
eugene endres Try Wagner’s Isolde Liebestod and then come back when you’ve heard total perfection embodied in Music.
I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail
Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
I'd rather be a hammer than a nail
Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would
Away, I'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world it's saddest sound
Its saddest sound
I'd rather be a forest than a street
Yes I would, if I could, I surely would
I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet
Yes I would, if I only could, I surely would
I surely would
A man gets tied up to the ground
It gives the world its saddest sound
If you're learning English I explained the lyrics and meaning on my page. It's really lovely music and the words are great too. I'll be doing lots of explanations so check it out if you like learning English with music.
It’s nice and dream melody’s song.
Long ago til now and future.
Thank you very much
🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🙏🤟👍❤️👩🏻🦳
Makes me cry everytime...
Its melon Cally
Dont cry babe, come with me
They both had beautiful voices in this song.
Why does the song make me so sad and thoughtful ?
Because it makes you sad and thoughtful
Absolutely amazing tune from one of the greatest albums ever
Niin kaunista, nuoruus muistoja. 💓
Olen samaa mieltä ❤
My favorite songs all time classic song
This beautiful song is originally from Peru and redone in many versions :)
+Antonio Montero Indeed, Simon & Garfunkel used the audio from Los Incas' instrumental version of the song, released in '63.
That is true
The melody is. The lyrics were written by Paul Simon.
My best friend is visiting Peru right now. It's August 9, 2023. She just sent me a picture of a condor. She is posing right near it. A fascinating bird indeed. It is HUGE. Then I thought of this song.
