When at a Montreal Canadien's game, I. watched Guy Lafleur with the puck on his stick, skate at blazing speed all the way around the ice and behind his own goalie, only to go back down the ice again, at a blazing speed to put the puck in the other teams net and score a goal. I couldn't believe it, it was so amazing, and he did it all with a smile on his face, as if it was nothing at all. Wow, just Wow! One of the greatest hockey players I've ever seen on ice, and I've seen many. RIP Guy Lafleur.

When I was an Officer Cadet in 1982, Guy Lafleur and some of his friends came to visit us in the Megastructure Training Centre at Canadian Forces Base St Jean. He was a great Hockey player and a nice guy. I'm sorry for his illness and his passing. God Bless him and his family. Sincerely, RS, Maj Ret, Alberta.

The loss of Guy Lafleur is truly sad. He stood out as an amazing skater. When he engaged the jets, he seemingly easily swept around defenses throughout the league. He also was able to stay out of media trouble ....unlike today. Nothing flashy ....just consistent performance. His performance level uplifted the rest of the team. Just get out there and score some goals .....without any political statements or opinions.
He, along with the names Hull, Orr, etc., .....simply played skilled hockey .....unlike the GOON GAME that is played today.
Hockey hasn't been entertaining for over 20 years ....and it's not going to change.

I'm 78🧑‍🦽. He was my heartthrob 😍as a young girl. Took the streetcar to the old arena on Carlton Street to watch him play the Toronto Maple Leafs. Loved his breakaways, all alone streaking down the ice with his long blond hair flying back. Now my teenage grandsons👬 live & breathe hockey. For me he represented all that's good in Canadian hockey🏒. Thank you, Guy Lafleur🏆❤.

Sitting here with a sick feeling in my stomach. Such a great loss. Guy Lafleur was my favourite player and still is to this day. Everyone on my street wanted to be #10 when I was a kid. Saturday night on the floor in front of the TV was a ritual in our house. I can remember him flying (and I mean flying) down the right wing, hair flying as he wound up for his percision slap shot. RIP Mr. Lafleur, you will be missed.

An incredibly sad week for fans of that era. Small correction, though: Lafleur and Bossy led their teams to a combined 8 straight cups, not 9 - Canadiens '76, '77, '78, '79, Isles '80, '81, '82, '83. Philly won in '75, Edmonton in '84.

Does anybody remember the episode when a child was stabbed by a man when he was wearing the number 10 CH shirt?
Then Guy Lafleur contacted the family. Later, when the child had recovered, Guy invited him to the CH skating ring and skated with the child on his shoulders.
Nobody mentions that great gesture from this hockey hero.
    Please!!!
