- Behringer WING 48 Input / 32 Output Setup! - #AscensionTechTuesday - EP163
This week, we're looking at my favorite setup for 48 inputs, 32 outputs, and a built-in track rig using a Behringer WING, X32Rack, and more.

Can 2 Behringer Wing
consoles share a Midas DL251 for FoH and stage mixing situations?
Bananas! This is top tier!
Thanks, Lance!
thanks for this. I would like to use the Wing as FOH and the X32Rack as live Broadcast. The P16-D/P16-M using Ultranet as IEM for the musicians and XLR out to the floor monitors for the vocalist using the D16 stagebox. with the routing scheme you're using would it be possible to have a similar routing for my setup? Furthermore, I need to do Virtual Soundcheck/Multitrack recording with my DAW via USB. and lastly, Waves Soundgrid. is this possible or am I asking too much?
@@STSDPC1 A few thoughts:
- I don’t suggest using USB for both Waves processing and multitrack recording. A better option is to use USB for Waves and the SD Card slots for recording. m.th-cam.com/video/hkPjo9BrPtQ/w-d-xo.html
- For both your broadcast, yes a X32Rack would work but just be aware that that will be your bottleneck. You have less channels and processing available on the rack than the WING. May or may not be an issue depending on your needs.
- Same with your monitors. 16 channels on a P16 is incredibly limiting compared to what the WING can do. Another option would be to use the P16s as headphone amps and send 8 stereo mixes (or up to 16 mono) instead. They would adjust their mixes using the WING-Q app and you can route those mixes to the P16s. Just a thought :)
Hope that helps!

@@STSDPC1 Here’s a video on how to set up Waves SuperRack Performer: m.th-cam.com/video/wkSElE_-v3M/w-d-xo.html
@@STSDPC1 and here’s how to get up to 16 stereo in-ear mixes on the WING: m.th-cam.com/video/7S5p5kEb9tA/w-d-xo.html
hi! thanks for this video. splendid.
i would like to know if its possible for me to get my wing-FOH ( slave console-connected to AES B port on the stagebox) to use the OUTPUTS ON THE STAGE BOX while my behringer X32( master clock- monitor mix) to use the local out on the console
If I’m understanding you correctly, here’s what I’d suggest: WING(A)->(A)X32(B)->(A)StageBox. If you want the WING to be the gain master, do like in the video and go to Setup->Preamps and select “HA Gain Remote” for port A. If you want the X32 to be the clock master, set the X32 to “Internal” and set the WING to “AES50-A”.

Very complex but I'm on it
You can do it! :)
Wow, thank you for this.. 🔥
❤
All routing can be done via Wing. It has even more capabilities in this case. And it has expansion card as well. In your setup wing is only clock source what is quite expensive :)
Wing is the mix engine for both front of house and monitors, as well as being the clock source and gain master. It’s doing a LOT in this setup :)
How are you controlling 32 outputs from the Wing. To my knowledge it only has 16 remote and the 6 local?
In the video I demonstrate how to set up 16 XLR outs from the S32, 8 XLR outs from the X32Rack, and 8 TRS outs from the X32Rack. The buses on the WING are inherently stereo so you could run as many as 16 stereo mixes with this configuration :)

Why not use the usb out on the WING for the interface which would give you 48 channels into your track rig?
It’s best to run your tracks from the stage and the longest reliable USB connection I have found is 100ft.
@@AWTechTuesday Can you elaborate on why you feel this is better? Other than one less chain in the signal path to drop out it seems having the higher channel count on the WING usb (48) would be better!!!
This would only be logical if you have a dedicated monitor mix guy who is also in charge of running tracks. But in that way you would have to introduce dante, in which you would then have to buy a dante card and shielded cable for. Using a usb extender would not be no where near as dependable for that scenario because of the long run of cable and distance.
