- pulling a t-post out of the ground is quite difficult if you don't know this trick. I will show you how to easily remove a t-post from the ground using the t-post driver.
This video is headed to being my number 1. What else do yall wanna see on the channel? Thanks for watching.
That’s because it’s an excellent video! Straight to the point (aside from a moment of humor in the beginning, which is cool) and extremely helpful information.
I found this while searching for tips on removing U-channel posts because I have about 2 dozen that need to come out at the back of my new house. I’m going to try this technique, but I think it will likely work very well.
@@kevrides5706 thank you for the comment
Thank you
Thanks very helpful!!
@@michaelelmore7133 I love how this video has helped so many. Never expected it would be so popular.
Fantastic video! I am a barely 5', 90 lb, 65 year old woman and I had the t-post out in like ten seconds! This is incredible and I am so grateful. I still have about 20 left to do and it's so nice to not be dreading this task. You, sir, are going to heaven! Again, thank you!
What a great comment. Thanks for watching
LOL! well said!
You must have good soil because mine are in Ky clay and they aren't budging.
Danggggg!!!!!! Keep moving!
@@DanesftYeah I think I’m going to wait for a big rain
Spent 1 hr getting 1 of 10 tposts out…Spent 4 mins watching your video and chuckling at how the first half was me…Spent 10 minutes getting the last 9 of 10 posts. Thank you!
I have dense clay soil so I had to ratchet it out tooth by tooth but eventually they’d come out. At first I didn’t think it was working, but it’s just a tiny bit at a time at first. Beats digging it out!
I can’t figure it out I’ve tried I just 45 mins trying
Brilliant!! I’m an old woman and just used this method to remove four 6 ft. T posts. Can’t thank you enough.
So fun
One of the most useful videos I have ever found! I used this to remove 6 ft t posts by myself with no problem at all. Thank you!
Best comment compliment I have ever received. Thanks for watching
The "how much is a t-post" got me. I need to pull 5, going to try this right now.
I rarely comment on videos to thank the video creator for their video, but here I am! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!😉
as a young man, i remember climbing up onto a ladder and using a standard hammer to ever so slowly drive the t-post into the ground. took forever and even wore out my young 23 year old self. even before learning it can help remove posts, the t-post driver was 1 of my favorite hand tools. with this new intel, i rank it at the top. thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much! My friend showed me this and I forgot how he showed me and he past away about 3 months later…you are amazing!!!! MuchLove and respect
I’m tryin’ this tomorrow! I need to pull out about 8 t posts. In a million years I would not have thought of this alternate use of the driver. Thank you!
I have some tpost work to do today myself
Thank you for this, smarter, way to work. I tried the hard way before I watched your vid. I don’t have the post driver, so I tried a 2x4. It worked, but the teeth just dig into it and I can’t pull too many posts with it. I found a piece of pipe and it worked great. I put the 2x4 under it, and I just kept working under one tooth then the next.
Excellent tips! I've found that working down the t-post, like a gear, is a great way to get extra stubborn posts out too.
Agreed. I actually posted a new short of this process and described it as "ratcheting."
I’m guessing this is some sort of old farmer’s trick for this, but I had no idea and got out the shovel after pulling the first t post. So THANK YOU for sharing this. I did a quick search in case there was some sort of tip and of course Google tried to show me special tools I don’t have. But I just found this video and had to comment after pulling 10 posts in minutes, thanks to you. Much appreciated
I’m a 67 year old female and just used this method to pull out 9 ten ft T posts that had been put in by a machine. It took a bit more work than this video shows, but it works! Amazing! Thank you.
So fun. Glad to help
Instructions are explained well. Watched a 30 second clip and was able to get them out without breaking a sweat. Thanks brotha
I needed that tip right now. I came into the house to see if there was a video that could help me. Really great it uses the driver, and not some other piece of equipment. Thanks so much.
I was today years old when I learned how to remove a post with the post pounder. That's amazing and I'm surprised I've never seen this before! As soon as it stops raining, I've got to go try this on a post.
So fun
Can't believe I'm 62 years old and didn't know this trick. Works like a charm! Thanks!
Super awesome! As a middle-aged female horse and livestock owner, this is information I needed!🎉
Thank you VERY much for doing this video. It makes perfect sense. Haven't tried it yet....it's close to midnight :) But will give it a go tomorrow.
I used this method earlier today, but I didn't have a post driver so I improvised and used crow bar and it worked great. no muss, no fuss. Great content thanks...
This is brilliant! I'm so glad my wife found this, lol. Thank you very much for the video. I plan to use this when I have to pull up some posts in the next few weeks.
God be with you out there, everybody. ✝️ :)
3:58 only works for short posts. Taller ones driven in 2' won't be leveraged as easily.
Just tried on my 8 ft posts and started bending them.
Brilliant mate, just brilliant. Thanks for making everyone's life SO MUCH EASIER!
Gotta love a man who actually does real work in flip flops....
I tore an old barn down a couple years ago..... from the metal roof all the way to the ground piece by piece IN FLIP FLOPS by myself
Heck yeah brother, great tip. I, like you, have been working with t-posts a long time and I NEVER KNEW that tip. Great!
Thank you for showing this and thank you for recording this video my oldest brother taught me the law of leverage is so important work smarter not harder.
Just used your method to remove five T-posts. Worked flawlessly. Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for the comment
Thank you! My husband has been ill many years and I did not know hire I was going to be able to get the t posts out of the ground! Thank you!
Man. This is why I love TH-cam. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for the nice comment.
This really, really works. Amazing. Before I found your video, I was beating the crap out of the t post with a sledge hammer & still wasn't working. Thank you. Thank you!
Good work!
Thanks for the comment
Thank you so much for this brilliant video, I was looking at a fence post puller on line, literally as I was getting ready to leave for the farm store, you saved me some money and a ot of time!!!
My husband and I have rocked one t post back and forth for two days. The other 5 came up easily. I found your video and in less than 30 seconds he had it out of the ground!! Thanks!!
This is awesome
That was fantastic!! I've been fighting these things for decades myself. Thanks for sharing!!
I just did this and THANK YOU. I was diggin on it and wiggling every which way. I got it out in seconds!
A T post can also be pulled by using a 2 x 4 or a 2 x 6 piece of timber. Use it the same way he showed the post driver being used.
Can’t wait to try this. Have been trying to pull with tractor and too many get bent beyond use. Thanks for the trick.
I'm 65 and I just learned about it today using to two-by-fours and a C-clamp. I like your idea better. But not all of us have the driver tool. Thanks pretty video bro
Thanks for the compliment
Awesome Bud! I got a dozen off posts to remove today. Gonna try this out. Thanks mane 🤙🏽
this was so helpful. thank you! gratefully no more getting my body in knots getting these out!!
Thank you for the great video. So simple, yet so effective.
Just used the method. Thanks. We can beleive we hadn't figured this out years ago
You sir, just saved me a ton of money. Thank you!
I came to learn and you didn't disappoint. Thanks
Thx. I'm 65. Just took pain reliever after getting 6 out. 3 left. This video gives me hope.
You can do it!!
Wow!!! thank you so much! My husband was not home to help me and I was able to do it myself with just a little effort!
This video changed my whole life. Thank you.
Thank-you for this video! Worked like a charm. Won't go into detail on the other methods I tried but let's just say I spent way too long on them. This is now my default method.
Glad it helped
This is amazing and a total life saver! I have been fighting the same T post for days and have tried everything I could think of! Thank you so much for posting this video!
days on 1 t-post? we really gotta get u some help lol
A huge thanks for that brilliant maneuver and showing how it’s done. I’m about to have to remove three t-posts and was wondering how, and bam!, you showed the way. Very much appreciated.
Thanks for the compliment
Best video on the internet. SOOOO MUCH EASIER!!!!!
You saved me a ton of work and back pain, Thank You
I had 2 Tposts that I needed moved and I don't have the post driver so I used a small square point shovel when used upside down and the same technique you showed and it totally worked.
Thanks!
This is awesome
Fantastic video. I'll be doing A LOT of this today and so I'm grateful for this.
Good luck. Thanks for the comment
Dam - REALLY❗
My goodness, thank you so !
I've certainly spent many days over the years diggin' and wrestlin' posts in order to move them, as I am again today..... Although I'm sixty now and I do get tired out, need to pause and ponder the process more now, than prior decades.... I've never been at the point to even think of "googling" for helpful wisdom before in regard to post removal, but I sure am thankful for my little lightbulb moment today.
I am very appreciative!!!
Your sensible approach is working well for me, thank you !
I have to say I've been giggling and shaking my head at myself as I've been making progress☺️🤣🙄
Thank you for the excellent idea! I don’t have a t-post drive, but I used a piece of 4x4 wood instead. It worked in two seconds. I am a short woman in her 50s.
Way to go!
That's crazy! I put them in over the years, never got them out lol Thanks!
Man that was absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much! I love learning new tricks like this! I was a skeptical because our ground is red clay and like concrete due to no rain but I wet the ground around the post and they cut that hard ground like a hot knife through butter! You freakin rock bro!
great video i heard of this and your video was at the top, saved me the rest of my afternoon bud
I installed a fence at my mother in laws.. saw a video for making it way better.. The Lord brought me to your video because I need to remove what I previously did.. my back would not have appreciated the blooper clip, lol! TY!
Glad it helped.
Hot dam. Pulled 6ft t posts out. Took 5 out in about 10 min. Most useful video yet . F M
Getting ready to cut down the garden, and next year we’re going to expand to my weekend project this week was going to be taking them out.
If I get home and it’s this easy to get them out, it’s went from my weekend project to my afternoon project!
Genius! I'm headed for the shed to grab my T post driver right now!
!!! WTH!!!! all the hours I spent removing them... Thank you.
Thank you very much. been trying by hand for two days
I love that this video continues to be helpful and popular
I would like to tell you that Google had this as the recommended video for my search. Thank you!!
Shout out to Google. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.
I can't believe how easy it was! I honestly didn't think it was gonna work, but it did! Thank you so much! You saved the day! 🙏🏼
Glad it helped.
Holy crap, you’re a lifesaver. This actually works! 🙏
Excellent! I’m moving some 8 foot posts I drove with a skid steer, may have to use to remove them. But you’ve given me something good to work with. 👍😃
I bet it will work
Excellent vid! Thanks for the farm hack. Saved me much time and cursing!!!
I love how much this video has helped people
That’s an awesome use of physics. I am about to go pull some T posts. I’ve struggled before myself. This time I planned to use a farm jack with a chain. Decided to search youtube and now have an even BETTER idea! Thank you for posting this!
Thanks for the comment
Awesome technique…. Even worked in Arizona caliche…. Thanks
BRILLIANT! I enjoyed the humorous beginning, too!
Thanks for the comment
You just changed my LIFE. Thank you!!!
Glad to help
Wow! It worked! Took 2 minutes not 2 hrs to get the post out!!!! Yay!!!
Brilliant and simple. Just saved me hours. Thank you!
this is great, thank you! huge health saver, pulling those things can hurt you!
Mine wasn’t as easy as your video, the teeth are smooth and it’s dry clay ground. But I must say it’s the best method I’ve seen or experienced. It popped the posted up enough to get the leverage to pull it out the rest of the way. Thanks for posting your video!
Ya this wont work for me either, I’m in the same situation. The dirt is hard and they are driven in deep.
Same here... Clay in summer doesn't give like his dirt did.
If you have a TSO (tractor supply co) nearby, you can get a post puller for less than $50. It's a lot easier.
Soak the ground just around the t-post with water first. It might loosen the soil up and come out.
OMG.. I'm dealing with about 8 tpost right now trying to get them out of the ground. This is what I needed to see. THANKS
I'm sure your backstory was interesting but I fast forwarded to the last 15 seconds. That's all I needed. Maybe I'll have to watch it later when I'm not trying to pull up a post.
They make a small adapter that fits over the T-post, that allows you to us a High-lift jack on it. Since they're made for lifting over 4K#'s, it makes quick work of a T-post.
My dad suggested this technique but of course he's never actually done it and let me tell you mixed results in rocky Cali. So many techniques seem to work great in certain parts of the country but not here. It did work quite well on some posts that weren't in such hard/rocky soil. I need my farm jack that is currently at my new place in Texas :/
At least it may come in handy someday. It *is* certainly better than literally trying to pull it out.
I know there had to be an easy way to get them out. You the man
Wow, that was incredibly helpful. Thank you!!
My post driver was at another location, but I had a cheater bar (a three foot stick of muffler pipe) that worked in a pinch. Thank you!
Handy
Useful approach. I'll give variation a try.
OMG this saved me so much time and energy. Thank you!
Good to hear. Thanks for the comment
Thank you for this. We have several that we were trying to figure out how to remove them.
Thanks for subscribing
Nice! I was just about to weld pieces of rebar to the T posts and use my floor Jack to Jack them out! Thank god I don’t need to do that now!
I think it's the flip flops that really did the trick. Going to Walmart tomorrow to get me a pair! Hahaha all jokes aside. This is awesome. Just trying to figure out how I'm gonna do this with the "cheaper" ones without the stubs like yours... the ones that have the tabs instead of the "knuckles" that yours have... I paid $12 each for mine last year. Awesome vid!
Omg! I am just in the middle of doing this and I feel the pain....Literally. I was using a jack to try to pull the darned post out and when it slipped the post whacked me on the head giving me a sizable lump.🤪 I suspect this will be a much less painful way of doing this. THANK YOU, sooo much.
Saving lives! :) good luck
neat trick, I've used a shovel and brick(s) before. Put brick under the shovel, like you did find one of the hooks, put shovel under it then pull down on the handle. You could also put a nail or small rod through one of the holes to pry against.
Good trick
My neighbor brought out a jack, to remove 3 T posts..
Without even trying your method first, I bet him $100 I could remove one faster than him..
The fish took the bait after watching me wiggle one of mine out of the ground from a blackberry row..
His kids came out to cheer him on..
Then we had his youngest son do a countdown..
By the time he got his jack in position and started jacking up the post, mine was out of the ground.
The hilarious part
He just bought his jack at Tractor Supply for $49 and took it back..
So he lost $51 on the bet and the refund was a wash..
Thanks for the best advice video on Yt.
This is my new favorite comment. Thanks for watching.
Saved me time and back pains today thank you
Yw. Glad it helped
I have watched this twice, a year apart. Thanks for making it!
Thanks for watching
I've seen a lot in my 62 years but I've never seen this before. I learned something today 😀
Thank you for watching. :)
Great hack! I may possibly use this in the removal and remodel of one of my garden bed areas!✊🏼
I had a hard time watching the video thinking about working in conditions like that in flip flops. That being said this is a very good method that I will use in the future.
Your demonstrate is me right now. Lol Thanks for the tips!!!
This was my favorite t-post removal video of all. It was hilarious as well as effective.
