- A few weeks ago we auditioned for our school's talent show with good ol' Funkytown! Safe to say we passed and had the honor to perform said song in front of many more! Thank you everyone who showed up and supported, and we can't forget the stage/sound crew for making it all possible!!
======================================
Congrats to all to who performed that night, we hope you all keep up the great work! :)

Stay tuned for upcoming gigs and recordings, and have a great day! - เพลง
The only band where the drummer is the most chill
A classic 😌
Yeh...he's so underrated..
Ок !!!!!!!🙊🙊
Have you not seen Charlie watts playing drums with The Rolling Stones?
dit you new about the lucky chops in new york
What a talented group of musicians. The kid on the Barri Sax is particularly a gifted entertainer. Being able to play and dance like he is is no easy task. They nailed this!
Thanks! Just havin' some fun and playing our hearts out
I totally agree, he has the sound and the steps to be famous. He was so energetic and enthusiastic..
That baritone sax kid is a heartbreaker.
I'm a piano player so I can't say much but the bari sax player was awsome. Almost like he was trying to be Leo P 💀.
The baritone sax kid has seen leo p i can bet on it
man nailed leo's style in every aspect i swear
This guy has different footwork though. I see he copied the idea But this kid Is Gully with his swagger he is really got smoother style going. Where Leo is very Aerobic. As Leo is In pit Bull type of shape. How he handles his Bari like a Alto..
on god
Even did the overtones
I saw the footwork and knew this was gonna be a good one👍🏻
Hopefully someone has shown this to Leo. He probably get a kick out of hearing his influence on them, especially the bari-sax player.
at first i thought these guys were just some students doing a talent show but it didnt take long to be absolutely blown away WOW
This was actually a high school talent show, thank you so much!!!
@@kickbrass_official dude they meant like JUST, they thought you were like some average joes...
But they are guys doing a talent show?? Lol
Bro that one sax got some moves tho
Heh... "blown" away.
legend says, that one crowd member is still whistling
The world may never know…
Not only is guy on sax playing it well, he’s also BUSTING A MOVE.
You know it 😉
I'm 74, grew up in the South (U.S.), and almost every band had horns. Like to see horns make a comeback!
Right? I moved to Montana in my early twenties and not a single band had horns. So disappointing
Man, that guy on baritone sax is quite a showman!
You know it! Just having some fun ❤️
Why did I read this as snowman
I love to watch musicians feel the music❤❤
Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Check out Leo P you will see where he gets it from
the stage presence was insane, but no one is commenting on that trumpeter's dynamics! this was so fun to watch, thank you for posting this!
Thank you so much for watching! Dynamics are important! 🤙
I like that the extremely difficult overtones were replaced with single note hairpins. If I was performing this I would totally do something similar to avoid having to learn the unrealistic glisses.
I’m watching it again ❤
This is amazing.
The bari-sax player is amazing in EVERY aspect except one - learning not to steal focus.
Much appreciated! :)
he “stole” it much like Rochester “stole” scenes from Jack Benny. Jack happily accepted this, as he’d rather “let” Rochester steal scenes than “have” him steal scenes.
in my opinion i wish the trumpet player had more stage presence, the bari sax player has mastered the art of being able to perform and i loved it. also the other sax player and him have 10/10 chemistry
"Stole Focus"
Incorrect, the other band members (who are all amazing, BTW) need to keep up.
So a true Leo P disciple.
My band director showed us this in class and I loved it so much I spent 30 minutes looking for it
Aww that's awesome! You guys must have a cool band director :)
Don’t get me wrong this is good energy and their a good band. If you want what this was based off look lucky chops. Leo P invented most of the stuff the young Bari used.
Watch too many zooz and lucky chops to see where they got it from.
The Bari Sax sound is the best I’ve heard out of a high schooler ever
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️ (from the bari player, me 😋)
Wish more kids these days partook of the the best feelgood drug of all time...Music!!! Masterful job, well done!!
PREACH! Thank you so much, love to share the love of music ❤️
Me and my fellow band seniors over here all majoring in music/music education at the same college this coming fall 😃
Freshmen or younger!?!? That is damn impressive! You guys sound great, and I can only imagine what the future holds.
Yep that's right! All the horn players are freshmen, and our drummer is in 8th grade! We've got a lot in store for the future...
@@kickbrass_official hot damn y'all are incredible
@@kickbrass_official HOLY
🤯🤯🤯
@@kickbrass_officialwish you all the best! You are amazing
Honestly, the amount of little kids being like “OMG THIS IS STOLEN FROM LUCKY CHOPS” is priceless, the kids performing this are in like 8th-9th, they just wanna live their dream, they aren’t trying to steal nothing.
Preach 🙏🙏 we appreciate you saying this, it’s all in good fun!! ❤️
@@kickbrass_official I think y’all sounded really good, I was just answering the people’s question on why y’all used lucky chops music. Y’all just keep on playing, and maybe y’all will be just like them. 🙏
On one hand, yes it's a rendition of Lucky Chops. On the other hand, Leo P has been playing for years to achieve that gliss and some of those effects. How many cover bands are built out of 50 year old guys playing Mustang Sally and Gimme 3 steps badly?
Hell, the kids gotta start somewhere. Let 'em enjoy the stage and see where they go from there.
@@guitarstitch Yeah, I heard some great work from kids with a *Lot* of confidence! The growls and overtones on that bari were amazing! And not a single one of them was afraid to be heard!
Freshmen or younger? Wow! Congratulations!
that bari sax guy was hitting the most immaculate of jigs lmao
You know it!
He's gotta be a fan of the amazing Leo P, as he should be. That guy can NOT keep his feet still hah.
You guys are freshmen?!? That confidence made you look like seniors. Great performance guys!
Thank you so much! 🩵
An awesome ode to Lucky Chops Band. You guys did great!
For sure! We love Lucky Chops!
Lucky Chops are great just wish Leo was still with them. He made it fun and a lot more entertaining but still enjoy lucky chops
@@johnposey5212 lucky chops, moon hooch and too many zooz are on your together now
I assume you guys are also familiar with Meute and Too many Zoos?
Great job fellas
@@johnposey5212 Leo came back recently.
Leo would be proud that he is inspiring young musicians to enjoy the same way he did....!!!!
Isn’t Leo still alive and playing?
I wish I had seen this live. This was so much beyond what I've heard any other group do with this. You all play so well together as a group, and each an excellent musician. Wow that Sousaphone! Thump thump thump. Drummer: so perfectly integrated in the group. Just have to see you live some day.
We all appreciate your kind words! We've been working hard to refine our craft and are glad you enjoy it. We hope to see you at a gig sometime in the future!
Wm...you do realize that this is a cover of a cover by Lucky Chops? I will say, this is well done. I am impressed by the job they did.
Bari player is in his own world. Very nice
Thank you very much!
DANG you guys are crazy good!!! and man, the lung strength required to play sax while also having insanely good moves is incredible. GREAT stuff here
I don't want to hear anyone knock the youtube algorithm, it brought me here!
Thank you.
I haven't heard a tuba used to rock like that since Supertramp did it with Breakfast In America. You know you're awesome when you can get it done with a tuba.
Heck yeah!! Sousa love ❤️
Look up lucky chops
Thats actually the sousaphone not tuba
@@ismaelthesus2728 is a curved soprano sax different from a straight one?
@baba booey dog Curved has a wider and bigger sound as the bell is facing up like a alto or tenor it also gives more imminent feedback but it still plays the same notes as a straight one. I'd say curved is better for preforming and straight is better for practice.
From a 57 yr old Chic that grew up in the 1970s n 80s..I appreciate todays youth taking interest in our old school jams. U guys were awesome n thank ur parents for us too.
You guys are High School kids??? Damn! Very impressive guys! You have a BRIGHT future ahead of you!
Keep up the hard work, enjoy your practices together, don't let it be a chore! You'll all go far if you keep it up!
Much love from an Irish funk band boi
Yep! Fresh into high school! Thank you so much for this, it's something we'll keep in mind as we go on to the future. Returning the love
@@kickbrass_official I've been listening to Leo P for eight years and I respect you and your group for playing this. You guys have so much skill and talent just like some of my friends who are going to SWIC for college and I hope you guys have a good future. However, you forgot the trombone.
@@kickbrass_official You guys are Freshmen? Your stage presence is insane for how young yall are
I’ll be honest. I only clicked because I saw the Sousaphone. Boy, am I glad I did! This is absurdly good! Speaking as someone who used to play tuba professionally, you guys are easily as talented as most of the professionals I’ve worked with. And at such a young age! I truly hope you stay in music, as I know all of you have a bright future ahead of you!
Hey sousaphone slaps! We appreciate the high regard, thanks for the input! We've got loads in store for the coming years!
That lead sax player has a Michael J. Fox feel to him. 😄 And the tuba player was rockin' an 80's mullet! lol They were ALL great!!
I love that Sousaphone player with the rocking' mullet! These kids are fantastic.
For sure! He sure rocks that mullet!
He plays like he is Michael J. Fox.
They eliminated the music program at my local high school. It’s in the boondocks of Michigan and really in need of something other than protracted sports for a select few. I wish the board could have seen this because I bet these kids started in a school program and with the help of intelligent parenting got them lessons without crushing their enthusiasm. Yeah you guys and everybody that helped.
So sorry to hear about the music program 😓 our trumpet and tenor sax players both take lessons, and our Sousaphone player takes lessons for piano. We started in middle school but are now all in highschool (we were mostly freshman when this was recorded).
These kids are very talented. The kid on the baritone is a born musician.
No one is on baritone
@@ChimkenNuggieClipsthink they mean Bari sax 😂
@@starxuu Idek what I commented ngl I think I was sped
I was a sax major in college. I don't know how in the world the baritone player keeps from busting his lips playing and jumping around like that! Great job to all these guys!... I saw a similar group playing in a New York subway.... they have got to be busting a lot of reeds? teeth? lower lips? ☺
Holy crap, sousaphone player here, that was AMAZING!!!
Sousa represent! Thank you 🙏📯
Not quite at Lucky Chops level yet but they're doing good! Keep practicing!
Definitely not at Lucky chops but still insanely good for high school freshman.
Thanks!! 🙏🙏🙏
@@cochese95Absolutely!
You guys MUST blow up. I want to see Kick Brass as a headline name.
One day!! 🙏
This has to be the most talented group of younger musicians I have ever seen.
Those were the days. A nice buzz and a smelly finger to take home after a lovely evening of school board sanctioned innocent fun. Not many of us would of had such amazing live music to appreciate though.
Jesus christ if this band didn't win i dont know what. AMAZING performance!
This is the high school version of the original Lucky Chops bro, all they are missing is the trombone. And as a Bari sax player, this is what I strive to be.
I switched from alto to bari a few months ago and this just makes me love it even more
That's sick! Bari sax is awesome :)
Way to play that funky music!
Yeahhh you know it! 🎷
This popped up in my feed while checking out some Lucky Chops/Too Many Zooz/2 Saxy vids. Really makes my heart happy, to see young musicians still picking up instruments and going to town like this! Really great effort and wishing you much success and happiness!
We love those guys! Thank you, we always try and bring it!
bro on bari sax was KILLIN IT
Thanks! You love to see it :)
World, look out for this baritone sax player. He has the music in him, and one day it is going to bust out. To our favor!!!!!!!!
That’s right!! Thank you ❤️❤️
Wow! Your collective music teachers must be proud, as a retired music teacher I don't know any of you but I'm proud of you. Thank you for sharing this.
Good cover of lucky chops the original funky town players of brass right down to the dance
this makes me even more proud to be a bari sax player
Went to listen to the original, and immediately realized how much better this version is. Took literally 5 notes.
That's a really cool rendition. I doubt your audience "got it" but that's really cool anyways =p
(also as a BBone, I mean the barri- was on point!!
They really all did it right ... >.< I keep listening to it.=p
Thank you so much! Bass trombone's are sick!
These guys should audition for AGT.
One of the best performances I have seen in my 58 years!
Moments that were godlike!!!!

You guys did incredible!!!
Truly an amazing and incredible group of young talent. Can’t believe they haven’t been on Americas Got Talent! Needs to be booked soon!!! (Love listening to them, want to hear more!)
We're hoping to get up there! Thanks!
That was freaking amazing. Still wondering how the kid on alto sax could jump around like that and still play 😍😳😍
Thank you so much! @ethandoesit (Ethan) is the jumping bari player 🎷
That was a baritone player......!
@@kickbrass_official the name explains it all, Ethan just does it! his dancing was incredible
Ye that looks like an alto to me
Definitely an alto, but b i g g e r
I love how sir sax 1 and sir tuba looked like they were having a showdown at the beginning
Who dosen't wanna go to Funkytown and feel good?? loved it
Can’t wait to see and hear more from this group! Love to see on Americas Got Talent!!!!
Thanks! Can't wait to see if we get up there!
actually insane for how young y’all are
Always a fun surprise when people find out ;)
Amazing job! The best music programs are the ones led by the kids and guided by instructors. Something to truly cherish because it is rare and the amount of time in the program is limited. Take advantage of the opportunity and it will take you far. Blows my mind they are freshman.
Great imitation of the Lucky Chops band. Even the dance moves from the base sax player are from the Lucky Chops. Good job boys.
"Chops".
@@jonfoster1566 oops. Thanks!
Oml this is crazy for high schoolers.... THAT BARI DO BE BUSTING A MOVE THOO!! Prob the best high school band ive seen lol
bari sax is a Leo P copy, and im all here for it, ive seen him on his personal channel before. All great players but hes quite the entertainer.
Bro the drummer is so good, I play the drums and I would’ve gotten so distracted lmao
Also all these kids are ABSOLUTELY KILLING it.
I saw the thumbnail and it reminded me of Lucky Chops. Then the bari started immediately dancing lol. Loved it though!
Ethan loves his dancing...the whole band's into Lucky Chops! Thanks for watching!
Channeling Leo! 👍
the bari sax player reminds me of my love for the bari sax. Keep on slaying and playing!
That's what's up! We sure will.
Get all these guys taking master classes at the local university! They sound good! I want to hear them in four or five years with some real jazz tutoring behind them, they'll be touring!!!
Hope they've comtinued, in any manner, their musical activity. Sometimes, off to college, "life happens," and music hits the back seat, or is discarded altogether. Then at 50 or 60, there is an emptiness that hungers for MUSIC. Nothing else fills that void. Forward!
HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND AND/OR HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ MUSICIANS ARE THE BEST ! ! ! ! ! ! 🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷
this is not about anyone else it's about talent and now fun time !!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Kick- Brass
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, unbelievably fantastic! Almost unreal. What a great show and what a great school this must be. Thanks a lot for making playing explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
OMG.... only a old band geek knows how much wind it takes to blow a barry like that....(waitthatdidn'tcomeouthowimeantit...)
It's all good we know what you mean haha! Thank you
@@kickbrass_official yeah that Barry player is working hard. Bet he can hold his breath for like 10 minutes
You are the future of American music, so proud of you.
Lucky Chops would be proud
We'd hope so 🙏🙏
Y’all deserve SO many more likes, this was one amazing performance! (:
Thank you!
So well done!
Not a music stand in sight!!!
👍😎👍
Everyone of those young men onstage was BEYOND talented. I loved watching this!
The Brass And Beat, That takes some Breath.. WOW,!!
i just found myself absolutley invested in this lol, i couldnt stop watching
i aspire to be the bari sax player. he literally has the leo energy, with the overtones and the footwork
Ah, they sounded ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The one thing I will complain about is that the Sousaphone didn’t get any spotlight!!! While everyone sounded fantastic, they all got at least one solo-y bit, but Sousaphone was stuck with just background😭😔
Ya'll are gonna go down in the history books.
You can catch us on Chapter 2022 ;)
Absolutely Awesome.
Greetings from Johannesburg South Africa.
I'm 60years old and can still remember riding in my friend's little Mini to High School in the late 1970's listening to "Funkytown" as loud as possible, every morning.
It was so wonderful to see this video. I would love to see this performance on America's Got Talent.
Thanks for sharing and allowing us to share in your joy.
Thank you so much! Means a lot to hear your story, Funkytown is a classic across generations, and we love playing it for this reason (among others). We hope you enjoy our future videos, and maybe even see us on AGT! Thank you again for sharing ❤️
mate i literally find myself watching this over and over again
Brilliant! What a way to start my day 👍👍👍👍👍👍
this perfectly encaspulates how absolute unhinged barisax players are, absolutley amazing
OMG! These guys are sooooo good! They're right up there with the best like Too Many Zooz version. Just great groovin' drivin' beat! Yeah! Rock on!
Thanks!! Still working on improving but we’re definitely working up to that level! 🫡
Getting wicked Moon Hooch vibes here. Yall really landed that distinct jazzy sax rock sound.
Leo P would be proud!
Hope so! Big fan of his music
I haven’t seen roses thrown at a show in a while. Good job guys!
The Lucky Chops is written all over this but still sounds great!!
👍 love it. I do reminisce about my high school band days. Well done gang 🎉
I smell a BRILLIANT PROFESSIONAL FUTURE for these young gifted men!
These kids are super amazing! They already have their own twist and spin on the music!! 🔥💯🎉
saxophone guy is younger than the people in my band class and they still manage to make saxophones sound like shit.. these guys nailed it
Earth, Wind, and Fire would be proud, the band Chicago would be impressed, and the groups Tower of Power and Down To The Bone would want y'all to join up for a session!
I feel like I'm y'all's Grandmomma lookin' forward to y'all's Graduation concert!
Thanks 4 rockin' da funk, my babies!
You young gentlemen are da BIZNIZ!
Thank you so much!! Man what a show it would be to play with those guys, hoping for it one day! 🙏🙏🤞
Woo! Groovy!
Thanks!
This is how kids should grow up. Being awesome.
BRUH WHOEVER IS WHISTLING STOPPPP
The tuba and drums's players have my respect
Much appreciated! :)
Awesome! I love being a Barry player
Bari sax represent!
