@@MajesticLawnGnome Yup there were some posts about it. My jaw dropped. I know it’s incumbent on the lounge to enforce, but maybe the employee followed the unlimited rule or they knew the people. Either way, it’s excessive imo.
I've waited 40 minutes to be able to get into the Capital One lounge at the Denver airport because it was overcrowded and they wouldn't allow any other people in. I'm fine with that change. Bringing in 20 people is ridiculous.
I got approved for the venture X in mid October. My priority pass membership came with only 2 free guests back then. This change must have applied to new customers at least a few months ago
Hey Ben there’s another not so good news for a couple Chase cards: the United quest and I think also the United business As of March 2025, The Quest’s $125 annual credit and the $100 credit for 7 flights in a year in the United business card will also no longer be applied as a statement credit. Instead it’ll be issued as a United travel bank credit.
I'll be going into year 3 with my X. I'm just fine keeping it. I am easily making 120K miles per year with my regular spending. That's on top of the credits. My wife and I have the card. Guess access isn't important to me. My daughter is our plus one. We will be fine
You could get 3-10X points on your spending with another card depending on the category and the card. You are leaving a huge amount of points on the table.
If they didnt remove the yearly credit, which pays the card back, we would have kept the card. We dont travel as much anymore so makes no sense paying such a high annual fee. Downgraded to the venture card with no annual fee for now and kept my 23k credit line.
@AtizaJuanita we had the venture x card and dropped to the venture one. The change that ruined the card for us is the travel credit which was supposed to be able to pay the annual fee back. The lounges we could care less because there aren't that many to begin with and the cities we have traveled to, which aren't many, didn't have any lounges. We only got it for our wedding since a lot of our guests were traveling and we capitalized on that and occasional domestic travel. If you don't know about the new changes versus the old, look it up. Cheers
To the people bringing in 19-35 people at once through a lounge, I’m glad this negative change affects you.
Agree! Finally!
😂😂😂😂😂 damn people were doing that holy crap

No, they are protecting one of their perks against parasites.

Savor card is totally worth it. 3% permanently on groceries and restaurants? Capital One is still top notch.
It's not that serious because you can still get in with priority pass
Click bait, Ben
No those lounges are not important or useful
Great video, balance, funny, and highlights your many years of credit card experience. Many TH-camrs know about as much as card reps.

i've had it for over a year and they started doing the 2 guests a while back it seems at some lounges others were allowing 4 guests when I went in.
Depends on the individual
Hasn’t it always been 2 guests for the venture x
Where's the oversized suit jacket and cow-lick I've come to expect in every episode?? 😂
I expect Capital one to increase AF on VX and limit the amount of AU to maybe 1.

Nope. Still a solid choice
Capital one was always a waste of time in my humble opinion 🤷♂️
No, they did not. Not even close. Still one of the best cards.
Agree 💯
Capital One cards are garbage
Priority pass lounges are awful.
Only domestically. In Asia or Europe they're mostly pretty good.
A sweeping statement. There are good ones and bad ones, like everything else in life.
@@soapa4279 I've been in a bunch of them, granted all domestic, and I said what I said.
Try finding a PP lounge in the US that is worth visiting, if yo can find one at all. I will not renew my PP membership.

Is this two free guests per person on the ventures account? My partner and I both have a priority pass, we’re on the same Venture X account. Thanks!
did Ben Hedges just RUIN Capital One with a clickbait?
🤣

Which credit are you referring to? Only changes I'm aware of are lounge access related

As always you are late: Furthermore it’s an $0 effective AF card. How much free stuff are you expecting?
