- Swami Sarvapriyananda, Minister-in-charge, Vedanta Society of New York teaches Aparokshanubhuti- one of Shankaracharya's Prakarana Granthas on the first day of the Spiritual Retreat at Ramakrishna Kutir, Almora on 18th May 2024 as part of the Concluding Ceremony of the 125th Anniversary Celebrations of the Return of Swami Vivekananda from the West & Foundation of Ramakrishna Mission.
Meeting Swamiji in 2015 before he left for California was a life changing moment . Humility personified and filled with a deep need to share his knowledge in a practical manner was so wonderful.

Every talk of Swami Sarvapriyananda ji is pure nectar. This talk felt a little bit more homely in tone, a tad less formal. Almost like meeting your teacher outside the classroom and seeing him in a fun mood. The knowledge of course has the same potency as always.

"Maya" literally means "to measure", "to evaluate". Who am I? What is the universe? What is the source of all the phenomena, of all that appears? The evaluation depends on knowledge, which is always incomplete. Therefore, the evaluation, the measurement, is "what is not". If one takes the idea, the concept, as the truth, one is living under illusion. That is why the word "maya" is related to illusion.
Without this illusion, there in absolutely no separation, no division. The form and the non-form, the manifest and the unmanifested are the same life-consciousness. The source never ends, never dies. Is it not because of this that, by reflection, we cling to life, that we don't want to die?

First of all we have no monks, Rishi’s and muni’s are not religious monks. They are seer scientists….vedic vigyan is the right word. These so called Arya samaji’s were the first to create a divide amongst Hindus and they’re still shameless….vigyan ka V nahi pata aur aa jaate hai bhakti marg me sabko murkh banane ke liye….for god sake pls dont exploit the emotional Hindu!
Hindi aati nahi, angrezi me ved padhane wale mahatma hai ye! Inhi logo ki kripa se hum agni ko fire aur Indra ko barsaat ka devta maan ke baithe hain….Anand, Vigyan, Man, Pran and Wak. Ask this guy if he knows any of these primordial tattva that formulate Sat-Chit-Anand….or minimum ask him what is Veda? Is it a book or knowledge or tattva or a manifestation of Rasa itself? Don’t be fooled guys, read Veda yourself that’s much better
Vedas or Shruti , Bhagavad Geeta , Brahmasutras all 3 texts and other preparatory texts contains only Sanskrit mantras. Why then should it be taught in Hindi ?
So that more people can benefit , it must be conveyed in English , there are ardent listeners from all parts of the world .
@@snigdhodebsinha2089 English doesn’t have words for Sanskrit terms and that is fundamental reason for all problems….best example - religion is not dharma….imagine the whole literature translated in English which by Sanskrit’s standards is almost gibberish….
