The DMF lighting is much much more welcoming than the big box store lighting options. I appreciate your approach to lighting and providing us with better options.
Really interesting seeing the difference between the budget lights and the DMFs, especially in your office. I have 32 Halogen downloghts in my kitchen diner, that were great until changes in energy price caps have pushed my electricity bill up from about $6000 equivalent per year to potentially nearly $14000 annually overnight. Looking (obviously) with what to replace them with, and while I was honestly going to go with some reasonable but still cheap LED retrofit solution I am definitely going to be looking into DMF, or equivalent that's available in the UK now. Only concern is that being maybe 2 inch fittings rather than the 6 that you have is that finding a good retrofit option might be difficult. While the lighting is by no means the biggest electricity consumer in my home, I feel the switch will make a large enough dent to justify going for a premium option at least. Will be very interested to see what you have to show for the other replacement bulbs in future. The entire rest of my house is still running on a mixture of 100 and 60 watt filament bulbs, which while I have found the exact bulbs that I like, are neither efficient, nor in the case of 100 watt bulbs, legal to sell here anymore, so a good replacement for those would be very interesting.
Great video as always! I’m looking at installing two DMF DCC (cylinder lights) in my small 12x14 office off my 40x60 but I can’t find anyone who sells them in Albany, NY! Keeping the ceiling exposed and it’s a sloped ceiling so hanging them as pendants I figured would work best to level them. Have you played with the DCCs at all? Would love to order two of them for testing.
Slightly off-topic but are you planning to become a dealer for the garage lighting that you’ve been installing? I’ve been looking for those fixtures in my area and not been successful even with commercial lighting houses.
Why go for these? Im an electrician and recently installed them in a kitchen for one of our customers. I found it to be very similar to the topaz contractor grade color selectable trim.
I guess if you're willing to spend $5000 in Yellotec mic arms, 20k for lighting is nothing ;) How do the DMF H series look compared to these? The H series are about $60 each.
Thanks for sharing this. #1 assistant and DMF lighting expert. I am trying to DIY this project and looking for DMF lighting. @ChrisStabach It would be good to connect with you the purchase of these units.
Mike remains my hero. He knows everything. (Matt is cool, too.)
Matt is ok 😂

We just finished a house with over 300 Dmf lights and full Crestron lighting control. Been using Dmf for a while, they are awesome.
I see you have a haiku ceiling fan in your bedroom, we have those fans throughout our place too and really enjoy them.
6:27 LOL I died at that one - Matt’s humour kills me.
Both Matt and I took a snooze
GE’s HD+ lights have 93+ CRI. The DMFs were out of my reach but I did consider them.
Those can lights are notorious for air leakage , they should be spray foamed up in attic or caulked around trim ring. Good stuff.

Our company is in Pa and we sell Dmf.
I did mess with a demo DCC. It's pretty nice.
@@1cstabach Thanks for the reply and would love to get in touch with you to order them! Seems like not much of a market here in Albany.
