Roy is my favorite vocalist of all times! His voice is fantastic, he has a great technique, and a unique stile. I miss him in Kamelot, but I'm glad he is back in Conception. He deserves more recognition.

Amazing job for bringing Roy, Peter! Roy is hard to get for the stuff like this, I enjoyed it very much! And thanks to God somebody uploaded the "you raise me" on TH-cam, would be a crime if that's stayed hidden! ;)

One of the best singers of my generation (I think he's my age) powerful, haunting, emotional voice that suited perfectly the elegant melodic metal of Kamelot and now the beautiful music of Conception (is it metal? who cares, I love it) guy deserves all the recognition he can get 🍺🤘

ROY KHAN?! OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR BRINGING HIM TO US!
I've been wondering for the last half year as to how he's been. I miss him so much. Not that I mind where Kamelot is now but honestly, Roy stole my heart but I'm so happy that he's happier now. I don't give a shit if he sings birthday kid songs for the rest of his life - so long as he sings, I'm happy.

Roy is one of the kindest people I've met in my life. We first met on the first Ghost Opera world tour and he would remember me tour to tour. Once we accidentally sat near them in a restaurant in San Antonio TX just by mistake and the Kamelot guys were nice but Roy beamed and waved back from his table. An amazing soul and I hope we cross paths again in life.
Casey Grillo also cool as fuck. Ask him about snakes.

Well, that was one of the best interviews I’ve seen and it happened to have been with one of my all-time favorite artists in Roy. I know I’m not alone in saying It’s great to see him healthy and smiling and so enthusiastic about his music! Although I love Kamelot with Roy and was crushed when he left that band, I understand why he had to do it and I respect him immensely for putting his personal well-being and that of his family first in his life. The showbiz treadmill is not for everyone and I’m glad he jumped off when he did and seems to have taken total control of his life, both personally and professionally. The return of Conception in 2018 was one of the best surprises ever and they’re making some really fresh and amazing music, which is what they were always known for from the start. Having met the man a few times during the Kamelot years, I could tell he was uncomfortable with the attention his talents attracted. It must be difficult for people who embody greatness to accept that they are, indeed great. That said, I admire his humility and candor in this interview and I’m happy to see his past experiences haven’t left him bitter or jaded, only wiser, it would seem. Hats off, Peter, for a very engaging show. It made me happy after a long, crappy day. It was my first, but I’ll be tuning in regularly, as I think we’re likeminded people. I wish you and Roy the very best. Cheers!

Discovered Kamelot through MTVHeadbangers Ball way back during their Black Halo release. Been following Roy for his creativity ever since. Geez, 16 years now? Something about his artistic style just clicked with me at the time early in highschool. Kamelot ended up replacing 50% of the music I listened to. They were just different and ever since it was like they exposed what I thought were flaws I did not hear before discovering Kamelot.
Love this guy. He seems like a total sweetheart. Always a fan of Khan.

So glad that I finally found Kamelot about 4 years ago. They are an amazing band, and now Conception is too (and was a long time ago). Roy Khan is incredible, and I am kind of ashamed that it took me so long to stumble onto those bands. But hey, better late than never! Now Roy is one of my favorite vocalists, and Tommy Karevik as well!

While I'll always be sad he left Kamelot, even at the time it was clear he wasn't too well. When he left, I was disappointed, but not really surprised.
I'd rather he quits than suffers. That goes for anyone really.
Conception is very much not my style, but I've said before, I would listen to Khan, even if he sings chalga, and hell, it's waaay better than chalga, so. Glad he is back and happy with his life. All best to him and his family.
I dig their idea of a fan meeting haha
I really like that you don't ask the usual stupid questions but you made your interview individual to the artist.

First of all, let me congratulate for bringing such a huge talent on the show. This is only the second time I enjoy your podcast and I'm loving it already. Started listening Kamelot just over 10 years ago because of Roy Khan's voice and became a massive fan due to the quality and consistency of his performances. Don't get me wrong, the entire band is made of obviously talented and hard working musicians, but the melodicity of the songs, the complexity of the story behind the lirics and the profound passion that Roy displays towards his job makes me respect and like his music even more. Thanks to you both.
