    Just tried this on Dec. 29 2023 after watching all the videos on youtube. You can just leave the wires exposed at the end. No need to try to put the cover back on. That's what I did and it seems to work fine. I think you run a greater risk damaging the wire by trying to twist and turn it so that the cover goes back on. The wire is about .5 cm too long to fit perfectly. There's no reason to put the cover back on as long as you're sure your camera/cage or anything else sharp won't hit the esposed wires. Just my 2 cents. Also, I had absolutely no problem whatsoever taking the smaller cover off with the one screw. It popped off very easily.

    I saw Potato Jet do this. I tried it, got all the screws out except one. Bent two allen wrenches trying to get the last screw out. Got a screw extractor and a buddy to help me get out the last screw. Now I'm noticing that yours is different from mine. Zhiyun seems to have replaced the little foam pad below the "removable" column with a metal one that I cannot budge. I guess they don't want customers making this adjustment themselves. Hopefully I can put it back together the way it was 🤦‍♂️

    • @TheLAexplorer
      @TheLAexplorer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got it. I saw another TH-camr that went through the same as I did. He said that some people make it seem like it just pops right off but you actually need to pry it off with a screw driver or something. I did it and it finally came off. Just be careful because that thing will go flying once you pop it out

    i would love this hack, but what I understood after removing part, using longer lens after balancing, lower part of gimbal is blocked while turning around. That's why that extender is needed i think, for bigger equipment.

    Not really a hack considering it was designed to do this. Zhiyun Tech have mentioned previously that (apparently) you get somewhat better performance without modifying it to have a lower roll motor. Not sure how that is the case, but at least users have the flexibility to make the adjustment themselves.

    Something changed about the design between yours and mine. Do you have a pre-production version?
    I've unscrewed everything, including the single bottom screw on the small wire cover. The top comes off, but the bottom connection is quite literally impossible to remove. I tried wiggling it a lot, both softly and with force, and prying the small wire cover plate up with excessive force, but it won't come out. If I pry any harder my tool will bend.
    Even if the solution is just "pry harder", I find that to be a design flaw. I wish mine was as easy as yours, but the amount of force I'm putting on it isn't worth the risk because once it pops free (if it does), there's a decent risk of yanking the cable at the same time, so isn't worth it to me.
    Was yours that "stuck" the first time? If so, what was your solution?

      @@n1xen Nope, I ended up closing it back up. Either they changed it since sending preproduction units to reviewers or you need to get miles on the gimbal to loosen up the stiffness. Either way I plan on returning it for Ronin RS2

      @22WeddingFilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the exact same problem, not happy

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@22WeddingFilms I eventually got mine out, but it was scary. I had to pull it directly away at a 90 degree angle, rather than shimmy or pry it. I also had to grip and pull very hard, while at the same time shaking it violently. I made sure my hand was 1/2" from the wall so when it broke loose, my hand bashed the wall and I didn't tear the control cable.
      Not much of a solution, but it at least let me use massive amounts of force while being relatively safe.

      I've found that every gimbal that uses 90 degree motor position perfornes much smoother and feel more organic to operate. Working with old Ronin m was significantly better than new ones. This gimbal should work really great especially with dual handle and upside down mode just like older design Ronin but with better ergonomics.
