They try to save as much uncontaminated clear glass as they can and remelt/reuse it. The colored and contaminated "dirty" glass is ground up and used as an aggregate in construction material, I think they mentioned it goes into asphalt in road repair.
Question: what do you do with all the "waste" glass, like what is left on the pipes after you take off what you need.
