    I figured out type A/B thing myself, going back to midi specs and tons of trial and error. I wish Boss specifies this on the manual 🤨 or at least that you published your video a couple of months earlier 😁 I didn't find this little piece of information in any other video of yours before 😊 cheers

      100% honesty, I had to find out myself and ended up asking the question on the CME WIDI Facebook Group to find the answer.
      But yes I wish it was printed and made clear as well.

    Hi JP,
    Why is the wireless transmitter from your guitar in the RC 500?
    How do I play the guitar and loop at the same time then ?
    Cheers for your reply in advance

    Is there a way to assign the midi control as a global setting? Or, do you have to make the change and save it to each memory separately?

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are global midi settings but they are for midi channel and tempo sync.
      Regarding the buttons, it’s per memory. But you could make up a blank template and then re-save that to the memory’s you want. 👍🏻

    • @reubendeansosa

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK Bummer. Not a big deal moving forward but a little tedious to go back and adjust my previously saved loops.
      Great Vid! Thanks for all you’ve posted about the RC 500!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other way to do it is setup a blank loop first as a canvas or template and then save that as memory 1. Then when you have made something, save it to a different memory. It will save everything over including the loops and settings and then when you go back to memory 1, it will be blank but with the settings you saved as it is your template. 👍🏻 😊
      This is how I work.

    I see you are using the mic input. Are you also using a mic pre-amp to boost the level before going into the RC-500 mic input? I find that the RC-500 mic input on its own is too low of a level for most mics. This issue has been post many times on different forums. Really annoying to have to use a separate pre-amp etc.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey 👋
      So not I’m not using a mic pre-amp. Just got it turned up real high. Yeah it’s well documented about the levels. Too low.

    Thought it has fills before changing to variation B?
    Wouldn't see a reason why using wireless on the same floorboard btw

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends whether you have fills switched on.
      And I agree with you if you have it all on the same pedalboard/floorboard, then you don't have to do it wirelessly that's why it also has a DC in power port on the back.

    Can you explain how you setup the 3 buttons on the RC500 for
    1. Track 1 Rec / Dub / Undo / Start / Stop
    Was it? That was in another loop related video. I was going to go hardwire for the FS-1 but I think I'm also gonna grab the WIDI Jack thanks to your recommendation haha. got it off your link thanks a bunch!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and yes.
      The option is T1 R/P/S/C. It’s basically an RC-5 one pedal looper at this point. Only downside is double tap to stop which I’ve always hated but if you have the Fs-1-WL you can make 2 channels really nicely with dedicated stop buttons for each. 👍🏻

    Hi. The FS-1 and Widi Jack stopped pairing. When I first connected them it wouldn't pair. I walked away, came back and it paired. The next day it won't pair again. I've tried different orders of powering on. the instrument light blinks for a couple minutes trying to connect and then shuts off. The Widi blue light continues to blink. Any suggestions. Thanks for your super helpful videos by the way! I've learned so much!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh.. that’s no fun. Firstly make sure the firmware is up to date on both! The Widi Jack did have a few updates and that will certainly help. Secondly, have a look at trying to pair the FS1WL to a phone or computer or tablet just to see if it will. Then make sure the device you connect it to forgets it. Next try the WiFi jack with another device. Pieces of elimination.
      I normally turn the FS1WL on first and then plug the WiFi jack in to turn it on. However if they have paired before, they should remember each other. Bizarre that they don’t. Grab the apps for both on a phone and have a look.

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK Thank you! I'll start troubleshooting and install new firmware if neccesary. Somewhat related topic. To run AC to the FS-1, Boss says to use a PSA series cable. Is that really neccesary? I'd like to power it with my one-spot power supply connected to my pedalboard. According to their specs it only draws 8mA. Thoughts?

    Hey, wondwerful demo and thanks a lot for all the info! I'm buying my first switch for the RC500. should I buy a classic FS7 or may I go for the bluetooth?

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s all about what you need? I have the FS-7 pedal with my RC-600 as it’s what I need to fit on my board.
      Ignore the pedals and just ask yourself, “What do I need it to do?” If you need Bluetooth and expandability, then go for then FS-1-WL. If you need 2 more buttons and that will do, go for the FS-7. Just remember that if you go the Bluetooth route, you will need a Bluetooth module, something like the Widi Jack for an RC-500 as Bluetooth isn’t built in.

    I really like your tutorials and lately i was struggeling whether to get the Headrush or the RC-600.
    So far, how are the fx (delay, reverb, chorus) are usable on an acoustic guitar? In my case, Taylors (722 and 714).
    Thx so much!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good shout and I would say that they are on par with each other. Remember the effects in the Boss are Boss pedals so no arguments there.
      The FX in the Headrush come from the same Headrush Pedalboard. Not as detailed in both but they are certainly both at a high level! You can dial in on all of them to get the sound you want. 👍🏻
