Those Gallagher rectangular block type transformers where designed for max 7 joule output energizers like the B700 (5J), Medal 1000 (6J) & i Series M1200i (6.6J) units. The transformer is unfortunately not efficient enough, delivering only 8 joules. If you can get MBS1800i/MBS2800i output transformer that B1600 will deliver over 12 joules output @ 100-ohm load. They are not too expensive, but you will need the steel plates as well.

Finding the metal plates and making the transformer physically fit will be difficult I think.
