FRUSTRATED?! hah! I never thought that I would become a crazy woman over hairspray, but I sure did. I even wrote to Aussie and begged them to please change back to the original formula because the new one wasn't working. Unfortunately, all I received back was a coupon for a free can of hairspray. lol
I cannot thank you enough for testing out the brands for us. Now I will stop wasting my money on so many brands that don't hold up to their word and just go get the stuff that works.
You are such an inspiration for so many of us mature women with the hair and the makeup. You have patiently held out your hand and directed us in the right direction to try new and fun things. Thank you and God bless you.

They did that to me too!!!! Coupon Really? I begged them to go back and I also told them that I will never buy ANY of the products again because they will just change that without notice.. I became a stupid crazy lady because I have 5 cans all from diffrernt stores, cities thinking it was just a bad batch.. Im an idiot

Thank you for having short hair! I find that everything is geared for long hair. I liked when you mimicked the weather conditions. I have the worst hair! It is fine, extremely limp and thinning. As soon as i go outside, i might as well have not styled my hair. Flat flat flat. If anyone out there has a product for my condition, please share. I have not tried the freezing sprays, i will give it a try.

hi Sharalee. i love your videos. you are so down to earth and have helped me so much. i used to use Aussie instant freeze but i noticed it wasn't the same, and so i searched to find out why (not even thinking to contact the company first - lol) and found your video. after watching it, i decided to write to the company myself just to let them know politely that i was dissatisfied with the new formulation and i heard back from them!! and they said this > "Thanks to feedback from consumers like you; The Aussie Instant Freeze Aerosol is being changed from the water-based Hairspray to the ethanol-based Hairspray from December 2023. This new Formula is very similar to the ethanol-based hairspray that consumers used to know and love. The overall usage experience is quite different. The new Hairsprays will offer a much drier feel and experience Vs. The old water-based hairspray." i haven't been able to find it at my local Shoppers Drug Mart (i am in Canada), but i will be looking around at Walmart and Giant Tiger soon, and I will definitely be giving it a try again. What do you think?

I have been using Alterna Caviar Working Hair Spray for over 16 years and it's my absolute HG hairspray. It's a working hairspray, so for anyone not familiar...it's buildable and can easily comb/brush through it. It's also fast drying. Your hair will never feel wet. It also leaves no white residue. I have dark hair and with some hairsprays, I can look at my hair in the sunlight and see a white cast on my hair. I have never had that with my Alterna. I have looked far and wide for a replacement because now the price is $40 for the biggest can. I just can't get over how expensive it has gotten ....but I refuse to give it up. HOWEVER, I'm looking for something to use when I'm not really going anywhere but do my hair. Anyway, your haircut is absolutely adorable. It's so sassy. Looks fantastic on you because you have a gorgeous face. You don't need to hide behind long hair...and not many people can say that. Thanks for sharing these. I might need to give some of them a try. ♥

I am so glad your video popped up on my screen. I knew it wasn't in my head ... My hair is baby fine and very hard to hold. Aussie was great but all of a sudden my hair is weighed down, limp and totally in my face. I have ordered other brands and have not been at all happy yet, but I feel certain that one of your "top five" picks will do the job. Again, thank you so very much for the effort you made to "save" the rest of us.

I never used the Aussie, but I’ve been desperately looking for a hairspray that would hold my thick, but fine, heavy hair. It’s a layered, shoulder length with curtain bangs, & I’ve been using the TREsumme extra hold hair spray for years, because when my hair was longer, all I would spray is just the bangs, and it was OK for that, but since I’ve cut my hair shorter with a little bit more style and need something stronger than TREsumme, when I saw your other video I was taking to you & telling that’s not going to work & it didn’t hold our hair just like it doesn’t hold mine, so now i’m going to try the top two you showed on this video and hopefully they will hold my layers and give me the hold & piecey look I desire it was volume. Thank you for the video.

When I saw you pull out the CHI I thought it would win out! Lol I recently purchased a travel size for a mini vacation. Where has this been all of hair styling life! Yes, it holds, pleasant smell and just as appealing is the ease of use. Easy to spray. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and as much as I love Kenra, their packaging needs to be more user friendly. Absolutely cannot use their products bc of poor delivery. This was so much fun to watch. (And Sebastian just plain stinks. Like barn yard stink 😅) Your hair looks great BTW in this video! 🌸 💕 🤗

Was happy to find this video after noticing the issues with my "go to" Aussie spray! I did go with your top recommendation and was very happy with it as an alternative, however, you need to wash your hair every day or the Bedhead will "gum up" on your hair. It felt a little sticky after touch ups during the day and even more so if used "day 2". Thank you for this!

I’ve never clicked so fast!! Give me a hair spray with maximum hold and allows you to mold your style. I recently tried L’Oreal Elnet Maxium Hold and it did nothing. Even sprayed it on my hand and couldn’t even feel it.
I will be checking out your recs because I’m on the hunt too. This girl needs a better spray, and one that won’t break the bank. You can frequently get Hard Head and Masterpiece, both Bed Head, at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. I’ve used both. The one difference, that I’ve noticed, is that Hard Head is a bit mattifying while Masterpiece is a bit more shiny. Both really good!

I’m sure I’m probably the last one to know but Aussie once again reformulated its Instant Freeze. Its first ingredient is alcohol denat. It has the same grip as the original formula. I picked up two cans at Walmart before Christmas for $4.96 each. It sounds like they heard everybody’s complaints on the reformulation and did their homework to get back close to the original. Nice work to you all who voiced their concerns.

I had just purchased Chi Helmet Head last week and I LOVE it! I was hoping it was going to be among your selections and I was pleasantly surprised it came in at #2 since I value your opinions!! Yay 😀

As soon as you get something you love, they either change the formula or discontinue it.

I'm finding that Bed Head Hard Head Hairspray is getting hard to find. When you featured it previously I was able to find it with no problem, now that it's been featured as your #1 I'm having a hard time and when I do find it the price is astronomical. I will lose my mind if they quit making it now or change it's formula. After at least 15 years of using Aussie Instant Freeze I'm so glad I found your videos to help me choose a new spray. I do really like Bed head!

Wondering why my Aussie spray wasn’t working! Lol! Ty for sharing this video and your demo! I will probably look for those top sprays. My hair was going flat after a couple hours and I thought I wasn’t using enough product!

Wonderful review. Sadly all of them are hard to get hold of here in Australia. Still searching for a long lasting hold.

Hi Sharalee, thank you for this video. I’m always trying new hairsprays and I’m glad you mentioned scent because that is important to me. Also wanted to say, I love your look with bangs.

I use Bed Head as well, could not ever use the Aussie for the scent, it was too overwhelming as i have fragrance allergies! All Bed Head products rock! Another one of theirs to try is Manipulator!

I used a can of the Hard Head years ago, and my husband nicely asked me if I wouldn't use it anymore because it smelled so bad 😂. Just a warning for anyone sensitive to scents.

I'm looking for a hair spray that doesn't leave a residue all over the bathroom and furniture. Is there such a product?

    • @sufyb6432
      @sufyb6432 ปีที่แล้ว

Unfortunately not. I cover my bathroom door with a twin size fitted sheet, and the floor with a flat sheet. I just roll them up to store them, and wash them now and again.

This is the perfect time. I was just about to order from the big A my spray because no one sells it where I currently live. However, having to wait until it comes, and paying $25 and up, I am excited to see your choices . Thanks

I bought the Aussie Instant Freeze (alcohol) at your recommendation and don’t like it at all! It goes on far too wet. I’m happy you found a suitable substitute.

I am glad that I am not the only one that thinks that the Aussie instant freeze new formula is awful!!! WHAT were they thinking!
I have three unused cans at home because I kept thinking I bought a bad batch.
I used it for more than a decade.. never again!
My style of picking a hold hairspray, was spraying it in my hand at the store, making a fist and holding it and see if my hand would stick as I tried to open it up. “it” pass that test with flying colors. As you’ve said, the only downside is the fragrance.
I also use the generic Kendra strong hold.
I will definitely be picking up a can of the Bedhead Hard Head spray.
    Thank you!

You got me hooked on the Kendra dupe from Sally's Bty. Supply. Its the perfect hold for me, not too stiff. Thanks again for testing all of these out for us. Now I'll have to try out the Bed Head hairspray for when I'm not at work and want to spike it up.👍💖
