Wow. Congratulations Gerwyn. You deserve it. 13 perfect darts at tops? Incredible. I couldn't believe my eyes when he missed 11 match darts but the pressure of a world final is like none other. But he pulled through and is now World Number 1, and so richly it has been deserved.
Gary had a few chances but he didn't take them often enough. I'm glad he got this far though and hopefully shut Wayne Mardle up... but I'm not holding my breath on that.
Still. What a world championship we've been treated to. Shocks, quality, you name it. Hopefully things are better next year and the fans are able to return. Until then, take care everybody. 🙂

@@boterhammetpindakaashagelslag Three players with over $1 million in ranking money each, there might be ranking switches throughout the year. Nonetheless, it’s good to have competition, especially having MVG being number 1 for seven years.

Been following him for years. Fucking delighted for him. He is a character, doesn't give a fuck who he is playing against and feeds off his opponents fury. We hear people saying that we need characters in professional sports. He also feeds off other players playing well. Phil Taylor was the very same. Good luck to the Ice Man.

Very excited for the pdc world championship starting tommorow. This will forever be one of my favorite world championship finals. This is the last darts match I ever watched with my best friend before he passed away in 2021. Rip matt Millar and let's go luke littler in 2024

@lucas seass They do count, he won them in the BDO when the BDO was the best competition in the world. It's just unbelievable when you look how Taylor dominated the game. 2 BDO world titles and 14 PDC world titles.

I never liked Price when he first came on the darts scene, but he has grown on me, well done Gerwyn, well deserved.
I really wanted Gary to win but Gerwyn was simply fantastic.

Strangely, I am slowly being converted to being a Gerwyn Price fan. You can see the passion when he hits or misses, the elation and the disappointments. Being a Gary Anderson fan, I feel he plays the way the game is meant to be played, but it just wasn't his night. Congratulations Gerwyn, you played the best darts on the night and throughout the season so far, and you deserve to be World Champion and World number 1.
For good or bad, you know you'll be entertained when Gerwyn Price is playing. I do find him a bit aggravating & excessive with his celebrations at times, but I think it's more him playing with his heart in his sleeve, than him being a bad dude. And you can't deny how good of a darts player he is.
He was unbelievable in the first 5 sets. Well deserved Iceman.

Im welsh and i have followed Gerwyn through his career and seeing him progress has been brilliant! I know he is not everyone's cup of tea but he deserved this tonight he's been quality the last year or so! Well done boyo!

Anderson came across as a bitter old man, proper sore loser. Not just in this game, but the whole tournament. Moaning about other players, then turning on the commentary team. Couldn’t even bring himself to congratulate Price. That’s the difference you see, Van Gerwen gets smashed 5-0 and he’s full of praise for chizzy. Class is permanent

Was good for Price the crowd wasn't there. Everytime he missed those doubles they would have been cheering and booing! Glad we got a winner on merit rather than the crowd putting people off!

Just random too for him to lose that nr 1 spot right. I mean, everything went right for Price, he had close matches that ended up going his way. MvG got unlucky that he found Chisnall putting up insane darts. Nobody was going to beat that.
