  • I have to make a clarification before: The track number 02, Thomas James, is a studio jam recorded by the polish band SBB in the mid-70s, featuring Tomasz Stańko on trumpet. Many people, including me, thought that was Black Sabbath for many years. Thanks!
    Firsth demo tape, released in 1969 by Earth (pre-Black Sabbath)
    Songs list:
    01. The rebel 00:00
    02. Thomas James 02:48
    03. When I came down 11:17
    04. Early morning blues 13:17

Supposedly the movie BLACK SABBATH was playing in the cinema across the street from where they were performing & they changed their name to BLACK SABBATH & they adopted their new, harder sound &a legend was born 🤩

    I can imagine Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath in the kitchen figuring out what too cook for the new decade (70's). Led Zeppelin throws in some Blues, Deep Purple throws in some Classical Music and Black Sabbath throws in some Jazz.....and there you have the recipe for Heavy Metal.

    💥 I've always loved Ozzy's amazingly crystal clear vocals! The ONLY one I can think of who sounds ALOT like Ozzy is Roy Wood. He and Ozzy are both from Birmingham & are friends & have both supported eachother at times. Roy (qqv The Move, ELO and Wizzard) should have gotten WAY more famous with that voice. I think he was just way too much in his own zone. But his vocals have always been great! And he had/has a *very* similar tone. Check out "Blackberry Way" by The Move and smile! Many other lost lost gems there. Maybe they're both related?

    in Denmark & Sweden BEFORE they EVER crossed the Atlantic. The New Yardbirds played
    Denmark & Sweden in September 1968. Jimmy Page had to fulfill an old Yardbirds tour contract.
    In February 1969, Earth did a small tour of Scandinavia. Three gigs in Denmark & four gigs in Sweden.🌎

    He said: "I have to make a clarification before: track number 02, Thomas James, is a studio jam recorded by the Polish band SBB in the mid-70s, with Tomasz Stańko on trumpet. Lots of people, including myself, thought it was Black Sabbath for many years. Thank you! Firsth demo tape, released in 1969 by Earth "...
    And why is it included here?, What is the relationship with Earth?

      @CaminanteNocturno  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I made the clarification because I had already uploaded it like this and over time I found out that that song was not performed by Black Sabbath, so I edited the description.

    Anyone else concerned that the Polish band SSB sounded too much like Sabbath. Feared that the stories of the Mars suite were just a cover for excessive "borrowing." Rest easy now, SBB debuted in 1971 so Black Sabbath had that lick at least months before SBB.

      I think you are mistaken, sir, SBB didn't form until 1971, two years AFTER Earth did it. SBB'a first album, the self titled "SBB" was not released until 1974. Amazingly, SBB IS still around and active! \m/
