    Nice video! I’m always amazed at the performance you can get out of a laptop like this that isn’t as aesthetically pleasing.
    You would probably pay 2x the price for a Mac book with similar performance. I don’t know why more people don’t look into alternatives like this!

    Thanks for the review! Do you have a way to measure the fan noise in Db under full CPU and GPU load like notesbookcheck? they only reviewed the slower model with the p1000 so it would be useful to know how the p3200 behaves in that regard (no one on the net has done it yet).

    • @TechBitGamer
      @TechBitGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I unfortunately do not have any professional tools for measuring the fan noise, but using an iPhone app called dB Meter, i got reading from 60-85dB. Im not sure how accurate that is but the fan doesn't sound like a jet engine at full load, but it isn't quiet either.

    I'm not really a giant geek and I got a question: can I put my own SSD ( A Kingston 480 gb SSD) in the 2.5-inch drive slot?

    • @TechBitGamer
      @TechBitGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep! That's exactly what I did! I'm actually mid-edit on a video on how to do this, but unfortunately school and other things keep getting in the way of finishing it :(. It's very easy and if your replacing your HDD, you won't need any brackets or wires of any sort to do this. Simply remove the bottom cover, unscrew the HDD, replace HDD with the new SSD in the bracket, reattach the power/data wire, and put it all back together. The only difficult and time consuming part of this is if you want to move your operating system and all your files from one disk to another, but its not as bad as it seems. Just find a data migration software and plug in your ssd externally to your laptop and let the program copy everything from your boot drive to the SSD. After a long wait, your new SSD can be used as a boot drive for the laptop :D

      @Didymusartist 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechBitGamer Hey thanks alot for your answer :) I didnt order an HDD and I wanna use the ''512 GB SSD PCIe TLC OPAL2'' as my main drive and my own ''Kingston SSD'' as my second. What specific brackets or wires do I need? And where can I buy them?

    • @TechBitGamer
      @TechBitGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Didymusartist For mounting a PCIe SSD, I don't believe you need any brackets to install it. As for the 2.5-inch drive slot, if there wasn't any drive mounted there from the factory, you would need to buy a bracket and sata/power connector in order to install it. Look on lenovo's website for P52 SSD upgrade kit, but you may want to try ordering from other places like amazon or ebay as you might find faster shipping and/or better prices.

      If you go with a MacBook pro, try getting one with dedicated graphics. Find out which operating system works best for you, just keep in mind that windows has more features and price to performance is much better than with apple. The laptop I reviewed in this video would most likely fit for your use and for me its been working great with what I do (Video editing and 3D Modeling), but also keep in mind that there are plenty workstation laptops out there from companies like DELL and MSI. Hope you find the right laptop!

    • @TechBitGamer

    Which would be better for Color correction and Color grading videos and pictures ThinkPad52 or MSI GT75 8RG both with the 4k 100%argb panel?

    • @TechBitGamer
      @TechBitGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The thinkpad P52 4k has a glossy screen while the msi i think has a matte display. So if they're both 100%rgb, just go with the panel design you prefer more. The msi also has different components, like a gtx 1080 and an option of having an i9 processor, so its up to you what specs you prefer. The lenovo would excel more in productivity and photo editing due to the quadro graphics, while the msi would do better if you want to throw in some gaming.

    I did not like this laptop. My Macbook pro early 2013 is better.
    Here in Sweden I paid $2700 for P52 and it feels so plastic.
    The trackpad are not as good as Apples trackpad, not eaven close.
    And that annoying HDD indicator on the bezel!
    First of all, a hard drive is working all the time, så the indicator flashes all the time.
    Try to se a Netflix movie at night when you have an flashlight acting like an strobe in your face.
    The power in this machine is good though.
    But I would suggest another laptop instead.

    • @TechBitGamer
      @TechBitGamer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      $2700 for this laptop is a bit much, but if you are a student, you can get a very nice discount, especially if you wait for a good sale. I was lucky to pay about $1700 for this config, and spent an extra $100 to upgrade to an ssd later on. This laptop isn't designed for aesthetics so yeah it doesn't look as nice as a macbook pro, but if your getting this laptop, your not paying for the design as much. For the HDD indicator, it does get a bit annoying when watching a movie at night, maybe there's a way to disable it without actually going inside the laptop and disconnecting it completely... Or ig you can put a piece of black tape over it, but idk if that would look good.

    • @zabro8064

      well you cant compare a MacBook and a P52... the P52 is a mobile workstation designed for "engineering tasks" and power users in general... you cant even buy a macbook with a Quadro GPU and programs like solidworks only run on windows. this laptop isnt really made for watching movies, the speakers are quite bad. If you want a powerful laptop for engineering applications or other programms that require just POWER then I'd fully recommend this laptop, if you want a laptop for browsing the web, watching movies or playing games then I would indeed
      recommend another laptop.
