Excellent presentation, it has cleared a lot of the issues I had with the Explorer, being a new user to this detector. What I have learned is that there is quite a few myths floating around the internet with regards to nulling out and these are not true nor hold any factual data.
Much depends on how much discrimination you are using , it will null out near a iron target close to say a coin if too much discrimination is used. Most hunt with just nails rejected this improves the nulling problem a lot.
I have tried with the just nails discrimination and to be honest I was driven mad to the point of coming home with a headache due to all the random false notes generated on bits and bobs of rubbish. I tried the usual as in dropping to manual sensitivity and varying the levels, but still the detector goes crazy over the slightest object that always shows up a rubbish. I have had to resort to factory defaults discrimination pattern and selected coins and jewellery to allow me to use the detector to a suitable standard. I cannot say out of all the other detectors I have owned having so much of an issue as I do with this model, maybe it is not one for me and depth is not everything in the detecting game that is for sure.

John Ritson You love them or hate them, that's an explorer for you - a great machine.
Once you know it....
Gary Hunter Yeah, a couple of friends said they hated it, now they say it's the best all rounder ever made.
Wow, wish this video was available when I first bought my E2 many years ago! I hope a video like this comes with all ML machines. Great job!
This is an enlightening presentation. Thank you !
Is this machine still OK. I bought for $450 on Craigslist. I can't seem to make the 10.5 work???
and finally, a roman COY'IN...what the hell is that about?
