@@disconsolatemoose6637 I'd say that this is Andy at his most devious. Supposedly, Andy and his wife (at the time) called their baby boy their Pink Thing. I must admit I'm one of the few clueless ones who actually thought it was about a baby boy and didn't realize it had another meaning until I heard an interview with Colin Moulding saying it was about Andy's junk. That was a bit disconcerting, but quite funny. ;)
Perfect reaction, very funny! Such an underrated song. It took me years to realize how good it is. I guess it’s (ahem) a grower.
I've never seen anyone react to this video and it's everything I thought it would be! LoL!
In a recent interview, Andy Partridge still maintains that "Pink Thing" was written about his new baby son!
Totally on purpose double entendre.... Andy Partridge at his... well, maybe not finest, but perfectly in character.
@@disconsolatemoose6637 Yes, Andy is a really funny guy! I almost enjoy listening to his tales in interviews as much as I do listening to his music!

XTC certainly rises to the occasion with this song. 😏
Gingham is (was?) a popular fabric that girl's dresses/skirts are (were?) made of, apparently popular as English school girl uniforms.
