      strange, haven't heard so many of those songs, the list is no real top ten in the later years. i have 6 kids between the age of 25 to 13 and even they dont know most of the songs. especially those where they sing songs mixed in turkish/german.

    I’m a German born in 2000, and I usually only listen to music from the ’80s and ’90s. However, this video triggered so much nostalgia that I’ll definitely check out the music from the early 2010s again. Thank you so much for that! I have to admit, the music from that era is at least partly more timeless than I originally thought.

    If you're wondering why so much German rap suddenly dominated the charts, it's because these rankings are based on the "German Top 100 Charts", which only tracked retail sales & excluded downloads or streaming.
    Around 2015/2016, music streaming & downloads became the dominant formats.
    However, German rap (which still has a strong community to this day) continued to sell retail CDs in significant numbers.
    As a result, from around 2015/2016 onward, these charts primarily featured German rap due to its consistent CD sales.

    So, as a lot of people have pointed out that the transition towards rap happened around 2016 which is when a lot of youths started listening on their own and there was a trend of this "alpha male, gangsta, Arab style, expensive life style". So yes, a lot of people listened to it and it was popular but that was a very distinct group (basically male teens) and the rest of Germany suffered as it wasn't their cup of tea.
    And also, there is a lot of famous German rap artists that are enjoyed by a lot of Germans but interestingly they weren't on the list. So idk about this list tbh.

    Concerts in Germany are usually great; the ones going to concerts are often REALLY into the band and songs. I went to see a Slovenian band in Munich earlier this year, and people were singing along every word! People from all over the country who came to see this band sing in a language they don't speak, and making the effort to learn the lyrics to every song. The energy was fantastic

I´ve been to multiple different ones and the best one by far, if you like all kinds of Techno and Elektro, is the "Sonne, Mond & Sterne" festival (translated to: "Sun, Moon & Stars" festival). Many music creators that are not only known in Germany but all over the world are attending and like other Techno festivals it is a gigantic one with many differntly themed Stages and therefor artists. If you ever want to try one out, then I can only recommend this one :D

  • @halimz_BiH

    Well you have to basically see it like that. 2010 we were all Teenagers or Kids, and Rap was starting to get cool and trendy when we got older. I mean besides some iconic old songs like “Monsta” we don’t really listen to the old songs. Most people started listenening to Rap songs. The rappers Mero, Capital Bra started to get really cool for 12 year olds and and for over 16 years old, they started listening to Bausa, Nimo, Dardan and so go on. I never noticed it but when Rap basically started to make its rounds in Germany, i don’t know about the rest, but it flashed me as a 15 year old back then. I was like “Wuohhhhh, that sounds so cool”.

  • @name_unbekannt9976
    @name_unbekannt9976 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    Not gonna lie, 2016 was when everything went downhill. I like rap, but my god, the german rap mainstream is... Horrendous. Genuinely horrendous. You know it's bad when there's a very popular, over 35 episodes long video series called "Die schlechtesten Deutschrap lines" (the worst german rap lines) and almost 99% of all songs that are covered in it are from after 2016. Before then we had Prime Sido, Cro, some good stuff from Antilopen Gang and Die Firma... And now all we have is autotuned BS about drugs, sex, alcohol, sex, drugs, money, drugs, alcohol, drugs, money, designer clothes, money, drugs, designer clothes, hatred, designer clothes, fake "Ghetto" stories, designer clothes, sex, drugs, alcohol... I think you get what i mean... I really miss the old times of music and I'm not the only one. And no, I'm not some boomer or some older, cynical millennial. I'm 17. And my friends are around the same age and all think the same way I do. We have no problem with that type of music existing, everyone can listen to whatever they like, but it just sucks SO MUCH that it is as popular as it is, because everyone is just copying that sloppy, lazy, and uninspired music style and i haven't come across a good new german rap song in a long time. Alligatoah still makes bangers, but he's moving away from rap and switching to punk (which I love, but still means that there's no good german rap coming from him anymore), Sido hasn't done anything that great in a while and most of his songs are collaborations with artists i really dislike, and the only really listenable things i can think off are joke songs that are parodies of the current rap crowd, like for example the stuff SSIO makes. Not even Peter Fox and SEEED have made anything particularly good in a while...
