You know in RDR2 Arthur, Hosea and Uncle had the best roasts and jokes but here John is next level when it comes to being sarcastic and roasting people. I love it 😂😂
Something *interesting* about John's personality is how is how he matured with fatherhood. He's actually well spoken in this game compared to the prequel. The agents that were with John at the beginning were definitely Ross and Fordham (the latter was seen in the RDR2's credit cinematic).
His first line in the game is a unintentional callout to Jim Milton "You must be John Marston?" "Sometimes" Lot's of little things in this that retroactively are meaninful thanks to RDR 2
RDR1 is the reason why, it set the tone, I’m sure rockstar didn’t think RDR1 to blow up like it did. I was in 12th grade spring few weeks before graduation when RDR1 came out
At long last we have returned to the world of Red Dead Redemption! A big thanks again to everyone who's been waiting almost 5 months for this series. We're so excited to share this journey with you all! Take care, and we hope you enjoy the episode :) - Eric & Sarah
Well Hello again. I can finally now watch this since I finally played RDR1. I look forward to watching Your playthrough. Hope You still will check new messages.
It's so nice to see you guys back in the world of RDR! John's such a good character who walks the line of being cynical yet trusting/optimistic, plus he's a lot wiser now since we saw him in the prequel. While he may be harder for people to connect to due to his non-malleable personality unlike Arthur's in RDR2, I find him to be very endearing and I wonder how you guys feel about him now that you've started this game. I'm excited to see your reaction to the rest of his story!
We definitely see the growth in John from the get-go and his love for his family is stronger than ever! He's well-spoken, direct, but respectful (unless you're disrespectful lol). It felt good seeing him again and can't wait to see how his story unfolds :)
Personally I prefer John over Arthur. Arthur is great, don't get me wrong, but John feels like a more complete character given that we've seen him in three different periods of his life. And yeah, he is way more badass in this game.
5:35 that' right Eric, that's Agent Ross (Milton former right hand-man), with his new partner as we saw in the end-credit scenes of RDR2. If John would have listened to Arthur to not look back, he wouldn't have gone to Mount Hagen to kill Micah, and Ross wouldn't have tracked John's position. So crazy how Micah causes problems even from death
I can say without a doubt that your gameplay of RDR2 was my favorite I've seen. I can't wait to experience this game alongside with you guys, it was the first game I ever 100% completed, because I loved it so much, lol. When RDR2 came out I absolutely lost my mind. Love your gameplay and am looking forward to this series with y'all! ❤️
Wooo! So excited to come along for this journey! Don’t know if you guys remember, but in RDR2 there was a man on the shoreline that you looted because you think he’s dead, but he jumps to life and gives you a letter and says “tell her, I never stopped trying” or something along those lines, and that letter is titled ‘lost letter to Bonnie MacFarlane’ that’s probably why the name sounds familiar, and the ranch was on the map in the Epilogue of RDR2 🥰
i’m so glad to be back!! i haven’t watched your videos in a while purely because you’ve been playing games that i haven’t played yet 😂. i’m so excited to watch how you enjoy rdr!! i’ve missed you guys
There's way too many retcons and changes. They were originally gonna remaster RDR1 but Take Two forced them to shut it down in favor of GTA6 and more GTA5 online which is a big reason why the Houser brothers, Benzies, and Lazlow left Rockstar after the release of RDR2.
The Xbox 360 version is still pretty good, but if you have an Xbox One or Xbox Series lying around you should play it on that, it's backwards compatible and it runs at 1080p upto 4k instead of 720p and with better FPS. (you can also transfer you save)
Yeehaw, I'm so excited to see this happen!! Hope you guys enjoy your new RDR adventure. This was a fun episode, I love your comments and recollections back to RDR2. I never had a chance to play the 1st game, so I'm living vicariously through you haha.
This is going to be so incredible to see all of your reactions, especially because you played RDR2 first!! Its such a unique experience you guys are having with that perspective, enjoy it!
Previously on the channel lol, dipped out to experience GOW on my own playthrough (I started around the same time lol). So stoked you guys are playing this! Was excited to see your reaction to Bill. It's brilliant how well the story naturally unfolds despite RDR 2 being a prequel. Masterful writing. Do you guys like Bonnie so far? She's one of my faves.
Ik you guys are done playing this by now but one thing I love about this game is that people think you can't greet somebody like on number 2 but you can except for you don't get the pick if it's nice or mean if you have a low honor you say mean things and you have high honor you greet the nicely 😂
Alright, guess I'm going in blind with you. As a PC gamer only, there isn't much chance I'll ever be able to experience the game on my own terms (especially since they apparently internally cancelled a planned remake), so here I am. I'm as excited to see John's story as you are! Been a couple of months since I last watched one of your playthroughs, glad to be back.
McFarland does sound familiar to you because you looted a guy on the beach in rdr2 that gave you a letter to give to Bonnie. You can talk to people a little, I think it's either left or right on the direction pad. Obviously it's not going to be quite as extensive as rdr2. I always thought RDR1 felt more like a western than rdr2.
As much as RDR feels like a downgrade to RDR2 in terms of gameplay/graphics, the story is just as good, possibly even better. I’m so excited to experience this game again, especially from you two!
Omg! I can't believe you guys are playing this. I hope you guys enjoy this game as much I did when I first played this. This will be a an emotional rollercoaster. By the way It's been a while since I have watched a video from you guys. I noticed your channel is growing and I hope it continues to grow. Keep up the good work. Love you both.
So I haven’t played RDR1, but I’m in my 2nd play through of the 2nd. I’m soooo glad you are playing this so I can watch along with you. I love my pc controls a little too much to do it on console. I’ve seen the cutscenes only so the play through with you will be awesome. Sarah, you always do a good job. I know it’s not easy as complicated as these two games are. Can’t wait to continue to see what happens.
Ah it's time. Welcome back to the red dead world. Your rdr2 playthrough was awesome and I'm sure your first playthrough of red dead redemption will be just as great. Enjoy the ride.
This is going to be such a good series. I haven't played it myself thanks to playstation removing it before I got the chance so I'm excited to see the continuation of John's story
Hurray! Just a month ago I finished my second playthrough of this wonderful game and I can say that you made the right decision not to play RDR1 immediately after RDR2. At the first playthrough, I did exactly that, the contrast between the quality of graphics / physics and other things was very strong. But after going through the game for the second time almost a year later, I got much more pleasure without compare it with RDR2. And what do you think about how the game looks so far, especially considering that it is almost 13 years old? I think it's amazing! Many new games don't have the same physics, animation and details as Red dead😍 Tip: By the way, John can talk to all NPCs like as Arthur, though without a choice (greet/antagonize). It's not obvious, but when you get close to a person, you need to press B (as far as I remember) and John will speak.
We're glad we waited too! The graphics are great, especially for a 2010 game! Seeing Armadillo again and hearing John's music really made us feel at home lol
There's not a lot of difference between game controllers these days. People will argue on which one is the most comfortable or responsive, but the design has pretty well been settled on: D-pad, two analog sticks, four face buttons in a diamond configuration, two shoulder buttons, two trigger buttons.
Ooh.. here we go.. deliberately stayed away from RDR1 playthroughs just for this. I'm live streaming RDR2 these days with lots of spoilers at the beginning of chapter 2.. Great fun Really looking forward to this. I'm going in.....
At some point, I'd like y'all to get John drunk and try to walk down some stairs. You just gotta make sure you keep downing drinks until John automatically falls away from the bar. Enjoy!
Ive seen most noteable play through’s of rdr1 and 2 and Eric and Sarah is the best at it! Every aspect they dont talk to much and step on the story like some they actually follow the story and are engaged in it, i have to say the best play through’s in order have been Eric and Sarah, Cynthitic and then miranda had the best rdr play through’s in my opinion!
I forgot to mention Jo Jo she had a great plythrough ver through and now she doing a Low honor Playthrough , which id LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Sarah play through as low honor Arthur!! Id definitely watch that!!! #MakeThatHappen
Don't forget to buy "New addition" newspapers when you get into towns when during your playthrough to have a a better background of the world, Especially in the end of the game.
1911. some deck must be shy a joker Miss, MacFarlane. the sooner you get the 1911 pistol the easier time you will have in this game. the police all have them and semi automatic pistols in Blackwater.
I'm not sure how you or others feel about but if you set the aiming to casual it makes life much easier. I think most of us are here for the story and adventure anyway.
Yeah, there wasn't a lot to do in New Austin in RDR2. It was actually kind of a letdown as someone who played the first game as much as I did. I was so excited to explore that area, but it was just... not much there.
Sucks Eric didn't get to play either. I love both of their styles, but seeing Eric take on Red Dead would've been great... plus, he'll never have the experience of playing either for himself on the very first run. That's pretty shitty
@Eric & Sarah Level Up.... How rude of you Eric. You already at season 2 of RD and you still not bought Sarah her Sadie Hat for playthroughs. You BAD BOY
You know in RDR2 Arthur, Hosea and Uncle had the best roasts and jokes but here John is next level when it comes to being sarcastic and roasting people. I love it 😂😂
John learned from the best roast masters and became an assassin with low key insults!

@@calinstrimbu6441 Agreed and John is a much more realistic character as well.
Tumbleweed is now run down.

Really impressive how they handled the prequel in rdr2, it sails so smoothly into this game.

It’s really interesting to see people play this game after they played rdr2 it’s such a different experience from mine.
"This is a fine weapon" about the worst long arm in the game

We vaguely remember something like that, so thank you for refreshing our memories! We're happy to have you here on our journey :)
i’m so glad to be back!! i haven’t watched your videos in a while purely because you’ve been playing games that i haven’t played yet 😂. i’m so excited to watch how you enjoy rdr!! i’ve missed you guys
Weclome back! Hope you enjoy the series :)
You'll be surprised how much of the stories are intertwined! They did an outstanding job of pre-telling the story.
There's way too many retcons and changes. They were originally gonna remaster RDR1 but Take Two forced them to shut it down in favor of GTA6 and more GTA5 online which is a big reason why the Houser brothers, Benzies, and Lazlow left Rockstar after the release of RDR2.
You were correct, the shorter agent walking with John was indeed Agent Ross
The best RDR protagonist is back, a 1 hour video of you guys, what a blessing.
The Xbox 360 version is still pretty good, but if you have an Xbox One or Xbox Series lying around you should play it on that, it's backwards compatible and it runs at 1080p upto 4k instead of 720p and with better FPS. (you can also transfer you save)

YES! Been waiting for this since the end of the second game!
i’m so excited to see your guys’ run on this game!!! THIS MAKES ME EXCITED FOR 2023!
Ayee! Nice to hear, hope you enjoy the playthrough :)
5:02 that Paperboy is the only thing from Red Dead Revolver in the whole game unless Uncle is Red Harlow
RD1 isnt quite as long as RD2 but its still very long
Previously on the channel lol, dipped out to experience GOW on my own playthrough (I started around the same time lol).
So stoked you guys are playing this! Was excited to see your reaction to Bill.
It's brilliant how well the story naturally unfolds despite RDR 2 being a prequel.
Masterful writing. Do you guys like Bonnie so far? She's one of my faves.
Some of the viewers will =implores you= to leave on auto-aim.
Glad to hear from you again! Bonnie’s one tough customer lol she reminds us of Sadie, which is nice :)
Ik you guys are done playing this by now but one thing I love about this game is that people think you can't greet somebody like on number 2 but you can except for you don't get the pick if it's nice or mean if you have a low honor you say mean things and you have high honor you greet the nicely 😂

It runs perfectly in Xenia emulator, mate! 😉
Found this channel from the rdr2 playthrough!! Can't explain how exciting I am for this!
McFarland does sound familiar to you because you looted a guy on the beach in rdr2 that gave you a letter to give to Bonnie. You can talk to people a little, I think it's either left or right on the direction pad. Obviously it's not going to be quite as extensive as rdr2. As much as RDR feels like a downgrade to RDR2 in terms of gameplay/graphics, the story is just as good, possibly even better. I’m so excited to experience this game again, especially from you two!
Red dead 2 story definitely better but rdr1 will always be great
Glad to see your enjoying it so far!
Very excited to watch you guys play this adventure of a game!
I think its the D-Pad buttons that make John talk and interact with NPC's, just like the dialogue system in RDR2, but different of course
26:00
Absolutely classic. Lol
So excited for this! I hope you guys will have a good time with this :)
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS PLAYTHROUGH!! I LOVED YOUR RDR2 PLAYTHROUGH

If you can get your hands on an xbox 360 or PS3, you can use mouse and keyboard instead of a controller.
Great first episode of your RDR1 playthrough! Do you know when episode 2 will be on TH-cam? Outlaws for life! 🤠

YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!! I’m so excited to see you two become cowboys again🥳🥳
Also, that necklace😭 Such an amazing gift🤠
Hello again! Nice to hear from you and we hope you enjoy the playthrough :)
Looking forward to this playthrough, I loved your RDR2 one.
Didn't fall off any bridges during the horse race and survived the first big cat encounter. Already at pro level :)
There's not a lot of difference between game controllers these days.

Really looking forward to this.

I started Red Dead 2 while watching
Yeesss. Have lots of fun with this one. It's a masterpiece!

I still have the game for console but haven’t played it in over 12+ years . I def don’t remember Bill acting like this . Damn shame
Bill still thinks that John was the rat.
I'm not sure how you or others feel about but if you set the aiming to casual it makes life much easier. I think most of us are here for the story and adventure anyway.
