Dollywood is my home park, was there two days ago and they’re going full force with the construction on this ride. It’s VERY impressive in person. This is going to be a major hit with the GP
Hopefully the actual landscaping will be more forested eventfully. Having the coaster do a bunch of near-misses with trees would make it seem a lot faster, and improve the theming besides.
I was there today and it looked like they were working on the landscaping. I didn't see many tree saplings though so it would be several years before they could do it with trees big enough
I rode it Monday!! It was absolutely amazing! I couldn't get over the punch it packed. I see other people talking about landscaping. Give it time...Dollywood knows how to do it right! The que line was really awesome. Make sure you look around at everything and listen!
yeah man, the theming for this ride is immaculate. i finally got to ride it today and i was amazed at how cool the queue was. definitely one of the coolest ride queues in dollywood
I’m a coaster enthusiast and I’ve been on rides like millennium force! 310 feet tall! But I gotta say this was the most enjoyable coaster I rode at Dollywood!
For a “family coaster,” this looks amazing and will definitely attract all coaster lovers as well - Cedar Point needs to replace cedar creek mine ride with something like this
How cool would it be if they installed a large grizzly bear animatronic that creates a near-miss moment near the end of the ride? Thinking along the lines of the Yeti on Expedition Everest. Either way, this coaster looks so fun and LONG
I was thinking something like this would go well at Drayton Manor but even with clearance I don't think they'd have the room build anything like this but yeah it's the perfect audience for a family/thrill addition to Drayton going forward.
Rode it today. Honestly, one of my new favorite rides in the park. For a family coaster, it has a nice length and the layout is never dull or too intense while still providing an exciting ride. The music in the individual seat speakers REALLY bumps this ride up, with an excellent soundtrack. As others have said, the one downside is the lack of theming on the ride itself. The audio of the Park Ranger and the sounds of the bear roaring help, but there currently isn't much outside of the little water feature section This is a shame because the queue is nicely themed and they have done a great job of incorporating the story of the ride around Wildwood Grove and the park as a whole. I would have loved to see a figure of the bear or hopefully we might see some trees eventually cover the area to give it some more ambience. That said, it's still a wonderful ride.
I love to see Dollywoods emphasis on their children’s area. They are really investing in their children’s area and it’s about to put them in competition with parks like Universal and Disney. I’m excited to see where Dollywood goes from here.
dollywood has *insane* potential. as a local who's been going since, well, as long as i can remember really, and the park has definitely come a long way. the wildwood grove expansion is so amazing, i really cannot wait to see whats in store for the park in the future.

I went to Dollywood today actually, and they were testing running Big Bear Mountain and a staff member was in the front seat with a camera recording the ride! (Alwo a little fun fact i learned, if you have a golden or diamond pass, you can ride Hig Bear Mountain before friday may 12! You have to schedule it from the app i think, and im going to ride it this week!)
The track still looks like Arrow track. With those 90 degree bends, this gives me vibes of an unhinged Arrow coaster that never saw the light of day til now and I’m here for it. Hope this one does well for Dollywood.
just rode this sucker today! WOW, is all i gotta say dude. its so much faster than you realize, and super engaging. not as crazy as something like mystery mine or tennessee tornado, but its definitely still a pretty intense coaster for being a "family coaster" 11/10, would recommend
I hope that there’s more thematic flourishes with this ride beyond what’s shown in this rendering. Outside of that cave with the waterfall it looks like they plopped it down in the meadow

Terrain coasters carry larger construction costs. Then there's the dug in tunnel and the custom waterfall. There's also the high price of steel right now and intamin is having supply shortages on LSM components so price is probably high there too. This might also be the longest Vekoma coaster.
@@lastone032085 I was going to guess that it was the terrain that would make it so expensive there’s probably a ton of custom landscaping to be done but other similar coasters without it wouldn’t cost as much
FireChaser regularly has long lines and also scares away potential young riders with it's reverse launch and pyrotechnics. This will be a great, high capacity ride that doesn't make kids or adults nauseous because it doesn't go backwards. That reverse segment is the biggest complaint of guests who dont enjoy FCE. Dollywood has also always been a family park.

It's also very likely that Dollywood recieved some degree of discount on this custom layout and new product when they purchased Dragonflier, which is a pre-designed layout. Wildwood Grove was always intended as a children's area and BBM will offer stronger, drawn out launches than FCE's, as well as 22 deliberate airtime moments making it a step up from FCE and stepping stone to LRod. Dragonflier works to introduce novice riders to seats that make your feet dangle, and is a stepping stone to Wild Eagle. BBM will be the longest track in the park and the first ride in HFE's franchise to feature onride audio. In general it signals a growing relationship and continued planning with Vekoma. Who knows, maybe the next thrill coaster to go to an HFE park will be a 2nd gen Vekoma!
I know it doesn’t seem that exiting BUT ITS A LOT MORE THEN I EXPECTED the launches are so fast and at one point you get launched almost vertically. This is coming from a person that rode all the rides including wild eagle.
Think this will be pretty big with the older crowd who want to go on a coaster but dont want to go upside down and loops and that. My understanding this will be around dragonflier area and tie in close to other coasters. Wonder when it suppose to be open?
The coaster itself looks like a ton of fun! Seeing how popular Firechaser Express is, another family coaster like it should do very well for the park. But, outside of the waterfall area halfway through the ride, the presentation of the ride looks... bland. Hopefully there is some nice theming in the queue to make up for the lack of it in the ride plaza and around the other parts of the ride.
maybe later on they'll add one, but you have to remember where this ride is going. This is pretty much the kids section of the park. Why the hell would they stick a hyper coaster in the kids area? This entire thing is simply Wildwood Grove part 2, and you should treat it as such
