- Estranged from her father, Al, a racing car legend losing his luster, young, dynamic, and sexy Kylie Shine finds herself passing her father by on her own way to becoming a star of the circuit. But when she gets caught up in the sponsors' eagerness to exploit and sell her on and off the track, Al steps in to bring her daughter back down the earth-by challenging her and her superstar boyfriend in a once-in-a-lifetime race.

I really like this movie. It's a shame she hasn't made any movies lately. She is a real good actress and it's Hollywood's loss for not pursuing her.

After getting fully worked up about all the discrepancies between this movie and reality, I realized what the deal was. What this project was all about. This is a Barbie Dream Home / Harlequin Romance, aimed at tweenage girls who want to fantasize about being a famous race car star. Everyone has crisp clean uniforms, there is certainly no grease under any fingernails. It's a dream sequence. Everyone lives in the suburbs, carrying trophies around, except Dad, who lives on a boat. You know, normal Stock Car life.
Once I embraced this "reality", I could just watch the project unfold. Like a twelve year old girl.
Hats off to all the Toronto actors filling out the roster. Work, work, work.

Days Of Thunder may have had a dumbed down rehashed story, but, man, they did good flying cars...

i must admit in the past ive seen some terrable TV movies but this is trully entertaining kind of reminds me of Days of Thunder sexy Michelle Trachtenberg character rocks
This movie has something new movies don't have, no matter how big the budget is, it has a story to tell, that is the core the reason why it is made.
I really like those kind of movies, that makes you think after the movie. The racing scene feels like slowmotion, but Days of thunder was a great movie, but this one tells a better story, maybe a bit cheasy or cringe, but a story at the end of the day.
I must really like racing movies to have watched all of this one lol

@around the 12:20 the older short guy who is handling the press for that chick use to be on the Canadian TV show called,”Check It Out” which was a show about a handful of people who worked in a grocery store together & the guy who played “Maxwell Smart” & was the voice for the childrens cartoon called,”Inspector Gadget” & he was the voice for “Inspector Gadget” lol, the good ole days as a child 😃
Funny she was in '99 inspector gadget I just seen when I was thinking to myself is that Harriet the spy?! Which it is.. she looks almost the same all these years later !!

An old friend of mine, Dick Durant, a former Can Am racer, said the same thing when I was at his house one day while he was racing his daughters on the video game. They'd beat him every time.

It's been a while since i watch this movie
Started off extra cheesy but it grew on me. Watched the whole thing so it must not have been that bad. Kinda surprised that they didn't cut the bedroom scenes since it's a family movie.
There wouldn't be any families without the bedroom scenes.
The money is their god. No need of these scenes though...
The only positive here is the good acting from Michelle.

When she first got out on the track they will not let you drive one of those cars without some kind of protective shield on my helmet are safety goggles to protect your eyes and it looks like they're only doing maybe 65 70 miles an hour tops it could have been better just saying
Very likely they were doing 65 or 70 miles an hour. This is a movie after all and for the safety of their actors and their stunt people they likely can't go as fast as real world races go. And on the protective shield, unless they had a Nascar official on set for consulation to make sure it was real world accurate (which I doubt a made for TV movie would have) its likely they didn't know the ins and outs of driving those cars.
In the scenes where she's driving on the race track, she's not going faster than 30 mph!
You can drive that blindfolded. Pure TV soap opera.

A decent but not great racing movie. There are many great racing flicks, the best bar none is FORD V FERRARI. If you have not seen it you owe it to yourself, an EPIC film.
Do you know the lartest spectator sport in the world? Auto racing, not football, baseball, soccer etc. Every weekend across the USA, England, Australia, France etc there are auto races going on. From 1/4 mile midget racing on dirt tracks, to drag racing, not to meation Formula 3 and Formula 1, British Touring Car Championship, Hill Climbing and on and on.
Get a change pay a few bucks and catch FORD V FERRARI you will be glad you did.

Some who don't watch real racing wouldn't know the difference. That could be why I watch sports movies and hate watching sports.

Always loved this movie. But that kiss at the end was bad writing. They did like no real development between her and her friend to justify a romance. Then she basically calls him a girl and kisses him? Naw id way rather have her win and then have the guy who cheated on her be talking to some girl thats like “ well it was alot of competition but u did good” and him just look at Kylie like tf did I do. But instead they make him see like a good guy at the end. She legit asked him is there anyone else. And then after he gets caught hes like “ u knew what this was” and i think if theyre gonna immaculate a male it should be the jerk not the poor crushing. And her dad shouldve asked her to join him and she shouldve done her own thing since the entire moral of the story is “ stop seeking daddies approval and learn without ego” going from no contact to working for him is not only toxic and unrealistic but is just like awhh the main character clearly is still just wanting daddies love. And then her dad is still not actually showing respect and just like “ sure u can join me but im gonna be #1 in my life cause my career matters more than you and yours”. He hasn’t developed as a character either. Older generations are supposed to teach and then pass on their legacy not hang on desperately to power. If i wrote this id make the bf and asshole earlier on and her dad that was secretly watching get pissed that some guy is messing with her career. He shouldve stepped up and taught her. Ditch the crew chief character and replace his role with the dads. Then had her beat the guy along with others in a intense competition. Add more males making sexist comments to show the culture more. Then have her win and her dad ask to her to join him.

Written by a liberal wannabe writer that watched 2-3 highlight reels on racing, and wrote a script about a female racer. We've seen 1 of them and how it turned out. I did root for Dana thou.
