Rudy Martinez in stealth games "pacifist run" normally refer to a no kill run... that said I would put the option of Echos not learning "violence" in the game...

The paradox might be that ECHO was made out passion, and thats what killed Ultra Ultra. Alot of games are purely made as a cash grab, and its a shame the industry dont take care of innovasion. This is pure genious, its innovative and intuitive. In either case, I believe Kojima said something similiar when Death stranding got some criticisms, that it might be cultural preference and its not a first person shooter.
This game is breath taking. The mystery of the narrative, soundtrack and environment keeps you grounded till you finish the game. The design is so unique and futuristic that you almost wish it was real! Love the concept!
Finally got around to playing this game last year when I got a Steam Deck. I was missing out! It's a bit rough in spots but overall a really intriguing concept and visually striking. Sadly the devs disbanded. It's a shame really because it shows so much potential for a bigger, better sequel.
Something tells me the devs were playing the Water Temple in Ocarina Of Time and thought to themselves, "let's make a shadow link game" lol ... looks dope
To be fair, for being their first game, I'd say the animations is far superior to other games out there. Not saying it's top notch, but it is rather acceptable given the circumstances.
the art style seems very common and not special. But the gameplay and AI they are describing, that on the other hand sounds very interesting. If they don't fuck it up, like 99% of games do when it comes to AI.
The art style is awesome. I love the idea of a big beautiful mansion. But I think it may get annoying seeing the exact same character every single time, and seeing the exact same ''White mansion level'' every time for 20+ hours or however long this game will be.
in small teams, there is usually a huge compromise between variety and fidelity. I'm guessing they went with something that cold be done with a limited number of highly polished assets. and the artstyle is classic realism, yet the art direction is uncommon in sci fi games: scifi suit reminiscent of japanese cyberpunk, and 2001 like classical architecture and white environments.
Im so happy this is a game! Ive thought of this idea many times but lack the tools and know how to actually make it happen, so I had to wait, and now the day has come! I love the art style, the concept, everything! I just hope that the entire games levels dont all look exactly the same, while this wouldnt ruin the game it would just make it a little irritating for me. Can't wait for this!
such a beautiful game. it was tough but i managed to beat it without being bitter. i believe it to be hugely underrated and incredibly...perfect for the first title of a young studio
This really does seem like an idea that is cool on paper, but in practice would either get too predictable, or too repetitive. Not to say I'm not looking forward to this, I just really hope it's as good as it sound
the problem is not the ability to copy certain actions. after all that's kinda simple (the game just have to keep track of what animations are used where, and then "unlock" them for the AI. the problem is that the AI needs to be more than top notch to be interesting... unfortunately until now there seems to be only an enemy that goes around and rush at you if it sees you. this coupled with no melee (at least we did not see any melee combat) can make the gameplay very boring...
Good, because if hype gets our rationality it will blinds us and we will get another disappointment, but that also depends on how they execute the idea.
Maaaaaaan I played this almost exactly 4 years ago, yet it somehow always found a way to resurface in my mind.... The dreamy soundtrack mixing with the absolutely gorgeous visuals and architecture, complemented by a unique gameplay Idea. You know, I think echo should have had a more unique and search engine friendly name...which is Ironic AS FUCK considering how unique and stylish it is!
Absolutely amazing game. Just finished it. Guys, what's with your marketing efforts? Only 3-4k owners? This game deserves more! For example, Ruiner launched the same week and already got 33k owners. Thanks for the awesome atmosphere, music, soundtrack, unique game design! A little bit variety would be awesome in the next installment if it will happen. Thank you!
The concept is really awesome. I get it that if you play aggressively, in the next blackout you ECHO will be aggressive and more challenging. I just wonder if this is an endless loop or there is a way out, or any solid story behind it.
Incredible. This is a part of my dreams realized in a game. As a pretty good 3D artist, this amazes me. Games like this in VR will be intense. The future looks bright.
The game is gorgeous, i love how coherent and baroque the universe is, the background, the dialogues between En and London which has multiple layers and the mystery surrounding the plot. I hope there is a second game, i hope they will show us more. It reminds me a bit of Portal in the way they dispatched the story. I have one plea though. I want to listen to the music of the trailer as one whole track, it's fantastic!

I'd like to see this concept taken to a really cool place story wise. That being said, I hope the gameplay isnt watered down either. This game has a lot of potential, and I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it
i was also thinking some sort of training sim but instead one that's meant to breed the best operative, one that's even better than themselves. could be leading up to a more expansive sequel.

This looks like an amazing concept that doesn't seem to be actually implemented, in this build of the game. The player is mostly shown sneaking, while the echoes mostly seem to patrol set paths...
The success of this concept entirely depends on the actual variety of things you can do. Cause I saw stealth-cover usage, melee, shooting with a pistol, and sliding over obstacles and sprinting. If that's all, there isn't a hell of a lot to add to the Echo. However, there was a "pickup" icon that popped up. Can you throw things to distract them? Will they throw things to distract you? Or throw things to hit you? Idk. Wanna see more.
There is alot of games coming out that somewhat in a way resemble this gameplay. Such as Hello Neighbor, where you play as an unknown person who is trying to get into your neighbors basement without being caught by him.. The game also keeps track of your actions so your neighbor knows if you'll go in the same spot again to catch or trap you in any way. I think games like these are way more funner and challenging

Since we're already having a lot of disappointments this year with mighty no 9, no man's sky and the rest of them. So I really hope that you guys get it right and make this concept justice.
All these silly people commenting oh I'm just going to do dummy actions such as walking into a wall so that the echoes don't copy me. You think the devs don't think about this before making the game. They're probably going to run the AI such that when you do that they will track you, converge on you, gang up and kill you from behind. Also even if you try to play passive in the light it doesn't mean they will be passive in the dark, the trailer said it: one thing that never changes is that they will always try to kill you. They will have a default series of killing actions of their own.
@Ultraultra You know what I was expecting? This story takes place in the future, right? where you land your ship on this planet-palace. I though that the dark suit would have special qualities or tech features of this futuristic era, like: antigravitational boots that allow you walk on walls or ceilings for a few period of time, or maybe, the suit would allows you to jump higher and float in the air for a few seconds. This! Would allow you to reach new areas of the palace, were it were impossible to reach before. This would had be more enjoyable game for me. The first half of a level could had be more atmospheric, solitude, intriguing solving puzzle mechanics. After you have completed the puzzle of the level, you would get and armor-suit upgrade as a reward. Then, the elevator that takes you to the next level would be unlocked. And then, the second half of the game dynamic would activate: an intense, action, escaping level. The blackout would appear with all other copies and they will chase you, try to kill you, preventing you to reach the elevator.
...And then you'll have to constantly watch over your shoulder for the stealthy Echoes creeping up on you in total silence, in imitation of your tactics!
i wonder if they will allow you to make the main character & clones look like the person playing the game. either via character creation of photo upload to re-texture faces
one of the most underrated hidden gems of the past 5 years, I hope it at least becomes a cult classic.
I have only just heard about it today. Where the hell have I been?
