- While fixing up a few vintage Star Wars Kenner snow speeders I realised I didn't have enough cockpit glasses for all the vehicles. So I thought I would just make my own version. And it works really well.
Get the acetate sheets I used here: www.amazon.co....
Download the pattern from toypolloi.com

Thumbs up for no harmed LEGOs! =)
Please start a petition so that we can get you hired as top designer at HASBRO with a fat paycheck.
You are too good to be just doing restoration videos.
I'll sign it first.
Ha ha. I doubt they want me.
Toy Polloi You have far more talent than what they have done, and improved on everything you touched.
No!!! Then he make videos anymore 😕
I don't know how but I really like your videos. They are sort of cozy and relaxing.
Thanks. You are not the only one to say that.
Toy Polloi I am binge watching your channel. Like I never thought that I would get this amount of nostalgia. Like a little time capsule.
Great job..Can you please do a video on Sectaurs replacement wings? Thank you
Fantastic work! That really does look better than the original. Got to say I really appreciate all of the little extras you share with the toy collecting community. Your restorations are inspiring and your videos are so fun to watch. Thanks for feeding our addictions!
Brilliant job, I had this when I was a boy, I remember playing with it in the snow! Now my kids and I are starting to have quite the collection again. Might have to do a re-build!!!
All your videos make me want to go out and fix toys Dave!lol Thank you for sharing them with us!
Ha ha. That's great! Toy fixing is fun.
I often think that your fixes like this can look better than the original and not being a completest personally, I would leave it like you have done here. Fantastic video mate.
Best channel on TH-cam. Thanks for all of the entertainment.
Thanks!
Excellent fix. Love these videos, you give old toys "A New Hope".
Tbh it looks better then the original I think. Excellent little fix!
Yours looks better than the original
Holy heck I missed this at the time!
I can use this trick to fix up the snowspeeder I was given as a child a little closer to complete!
Another excellent vid!
That's an excellent solution to an often annoying problem. The only thing I'd do differently, is to secure the transparency to the frame with a couple of drops of 'Plastic Weld' or 'Mek-Pak'. Interestingly, none of the original Star Wars filming miniatures had glazed cockpits, as the reflections interfered with the effects process photography. Some models were given virtual glass and CGI reflections in the much tinkered with 'Special Editions' of 1997.
What a great idea dave love watchin your channel you come up with some great stuff and make them look better than the originals keep up the good work may the force be with you...
Thanks for the great video and template. My son and I used it to create a new windshield for his speeder we're restoring. Thank you!!!!!
This is brilliant. Just got a snow speeder and looking for a canopy. Great fix !
Very inventive!
I am going to try this technique on my 1/24 Welly Back to the Future Deloreans. This fixes a problem that has bugged me for years. They made them all without windows for the doors.
Nice Videos, congratulation! To glue glass into models i discovered "window colour" cristal clear - toy coulors for Kids but very useful in model building
brilliant mate, nice work :)
Plastic sheet prices will go up now lol, excellent temporary fix
Stock up now, quick!
This is genius.
Great stuff! This might be worth doing to improve a Buck Rogers Starfighter which never came with glass in the cockpit.
That is a ship I would still love to own.
Nice job 👏
Great fix!
nice, i assume we can also use those plastics used as box covers on carded toys or toy boxes
You can. I just happen to have a whole pack of this stuff as I bought it for another project.
Clear plastic food containers are also excellent for making windows for toys or models. They're stamped with a triangle around a "1".
"Echo Base, this is Toy Polloi. Those possible replacements for cockpit glass.. I've found them! Repeat, I've found them!"
Thats awesome, I would replacethe glass in thr other one too...
Genius....
No glass? Studio correct! I wonder if silicone would harm the clear plastic? You could pull a mold off of the one you do have and make clear resin replacements.
can you put links at the bottom where you get this stuff ilke the ebeys names or something

Would that work for a MASK Piranha? I'm guessing no because it has no support 🤔
Curious will you paint a snowspeeder using movie photos ?
Check out my previous video for custom stickers to make it look like the movie version.
Did the small window for the gunner need to be replaced too ?
I seem to have an excess of the gunner glass so didn't need it. Bit I will make a pattern for it soon.
Better than original
What does "Polloi" mean?
It's based on Hoi polloi which means 'the many'. So toy Polloi is a play on that, many toys.
Cool...Learn something new
Do they make thicker clear plastic sheets you could use for this or is that too hard to work with?
They do yes. th-cam.com/video/QQEqMgkD8ow/w-d-xo.html
Are you doing the same thing for the rear gunners glass?
I haven’t, but I can do. The rear glass never seems to be missing.
Excellent video as usual !
For those interested, the Toy Polloi .pdf file for the cockpit glass also fits 100% fine the 1996 HASBRO POTF snowspeeder. Both cockpits seem to have the exact same dimensions.
I just restored one of those, and it's working A-OK \o/

I guess I got lucky that I got both cockpit glasses with my snowspeeder
From the condition of your right hand, I'm thinking you have a cat? :)
I do indeed. She often leaves me with scars just before i want to film :)
TreadwellJay I was going to say something about the marks on his hands as well! My cat has a "murder button" on his belly that I poke when we are playing, and my hands wind up looking a lot like that!lol
That was a good guess.
first like on the video
You can't be first. My Patreons have been thumbing this up since the weekend :D But if you become a Patreon you can be first on all future videos ;)
first on public youtube ok was shocked to see I was the first on public too u do great work keep it up
"Legos" --- I though Lego stated the plural of Lego was Lego? I know North Americans say Legos, but it just sounds odd.
I've always said Legos, so Legos it is :)
