just bought a 71 with a sidecar(!), a runner in pretty decent condition but in need of a rebuild. thanks for the efforts, they haven't gone to waste! love the can-do spirit and the KISS approach.
A friend had one in the early 80s,it was COOL. Ive wanted one since. Even though im a BSA/ Triumph guy,id love to make a tracker of a T500! The sound...i love those chambers!!
had a 77 it was a love hate relationship. went through a lot of spark plugs kickstarters one transmission seal and main bearing many spokes. pushed the bike as much as i rode it. wish i kept it. loved the sound of the engine and torque it had.
Another great video, thanks to you, after watching your t500 crank rebuild video I was able to rebuild my crankshaft on my 1976 gt250, I had no idea how to split the shaft in two.
Oh no... you sold it Ben? Ahh never mind, I just removed the engine in mine and stripped it to repair the kickstarter - found a few human introduced gremlins in there too. Cheers mate.
Your 2nd gear problem is a bad ear set. The shift dogs are rounded and as a result it won't stay in gear. You need to replace the gears. Hopefully the parts bike has a good pair. Of course that means removing the engine splitting the cases, removing the transmission clusters and taking them apart so you can get to 2nd get. Lucky you the parts bike needs the same operation. If both sets of gears are bad you will need to find a good pair of used gears. Alternatively, the 2nd gear shift fork could be warn or bent. Same solution except you need to replace the shift fork.

I always get jittery and enthusiastic on rides more on bikes you rebuild yourself. It's way more satisfying.
First few rides and you correct flaws. But i agree.
Brilliant solution with the kick stand!
I had a 1972 GT500 in Cascade green & white. I loved that bike more than all my other bikes; even a 1976 GT550.
They'll rip! Fun bikes!
Same as my 500❤

@digschopper9321 They did sound good especially idling.
Man I’m the opposite I love the tall gearing, so many bikes from the 70s are so buzzy at highway speeds it’s nice to have one that cruises smoothlyish

I could see that 😂😂
Love it! "Twisties" is a childish word.
😂😂 Thanks for watching Karl!

Thanks! That's awesome glad to hear you got your crank rebuilt
Same as mine with titan expansion Chambers. ❤
😂 Thanks for the video - had lots of fun watching it!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Looking good! Pipes really improve 2-stroke performance. Those look good, too.
Thanks! Good to hear from you !

Looking forward to the videos on your bike hope you're filming!
Do u have a video instruction for T500 oils seals for the front and rear wheel?
Yes I have a series of videos on this bike in the Playlist section..

Sounded good! Didn't seem to have any gear issues, is that fixed?
Still couldn't speed shift, normal shifting no problems
Really enjoying your channel!! I also have a 1972 T500 and would love to get a set of those chambers! Where did you purchase them? Sounds great!
Thank you! Titan Performance in the UK
Your Intro kind of scared me 😅 you had that Crazy look 😅
LOL!!!
you should connect a sidecar 😂 it would be awesome
Just a quick question would t 500 wheels work on a gs300l?
I'm sorry I have no clue 😐
What was wrong with second gear,,what did you change?
I put a stronger spring on the detent, it helped but still not perfect
@@kentuckyyankee I like Suzuki's detents with the roller end. My Bultaco has a solid end and wears on the drum.
