    Listening to a very faithful cover of War Pigs while T-pain blinks slowly at me, lovingly with a rose in his mouth... very surreal experience.

      "Very faithful" is a stretch. It's pretty damn cool, but the only thing it's faithful to the original with is the vocals.

      Surprisingly good sure, but faithful? A *lot* changed in major ways. A "faithful" cover would just be straight up playing the Black Sabbath version. He didn't do that, by any stretch, and he knocked it out of the park.

      He should never use auto tune again. His voice is supernatural. He could easily hack as a Sabbath singer along with Ozzy, Dio and Tony Martin. One of the best voices I've ever heard. It is a crime for him to use auto tune.

    • @MandoTheMisfit
      @MandoTheMisfit ปีที่แล้ว +52

      @@_Clem_H_Fandango_ It’s not autotuned, there’s no pitch correction in this. I think what most people get confused is hearing him on the masked singer or Tiny Desk where he’s just performing versus a studio recording. It’s gonna sound more digital because of the mix, but if you listen to any other T-Pain song with autotune and then listen to this you’ll hear the difference between his autotuned voice and non-autotuned voice.

      He doesn't seem to use it the entire song. The parts he does use it, it is to electrify his voice like a guitar. His use of vocal vibrato on those parts seems to replicate an electric guitar. It's incredibly impressive. Not only does he have sick vocal chops, he knows when and how to use effects to push things over the edge.

      This is a perfect fusion of everything I know and love. When I saw this come up on my sxm radio in the car yesterday I was like holy crap, is this real? I was instantly in love.

    This is one of the truest, most genuine Black Sabbath covers ever. T captures all the emotion, meaning, and purpose of the song. It has the right amount of heaviness, proving that something doesn't have to be thrash metal to be heavy, and I enjoy the jazzy flourishes thrown in throughout. And the best part is that it fully captures the sound of the era in which the song came out, 1970. This is solid. I'm a new fan of T-Pain.

    Damn, this one's going straight into the playlist.
    Lots of the early Black Sabbath stuff slides well into soul and blues. But THIS is phenomenal. The maximum effort organ riffs between verses matching the vibe of the drums in the original. The instrumentals and the ICONIC T-Pain voice effects give enough of that unique flair we know, but T-Pains legendary vocals that we love are allowed to shine.
    Top tier, iconic, legendary.

      On his first album most of the choruses are his voice straight up without auto tune. And he’s singing his ass off. It’s just the ad libs and verses that have auto tune on it is what people remember the most because he was the first person to use it so aggressively that it added a texture to the performance that was groundbreaking at the time. But all the background harmonies and all that is him with no auto tune.
      Hell I didn’t even realize it until I saw him on a video talking about how most people don’t even realize most of his first album is singing straight up because he’s known for the aggressive auto tune sound.

    IM BEGGING YOU T PAIN. LORD IN HEAVEN, MAKE MORE COVER ALBUMS!!!! These are some of the best quality covers ive seen in a long time, maybe do some folk rock and see what other genres you can master. You’ve certainly got the voice to do whatever genre you put your mind to

    The organ bits really do it for me, could imagine the whole song being that

    Fantastic cover! Reminds me of Corey Glover from Living Color and that's meant as an absolute compliment. Like it's been said all up and down the comments, this is probably the best cover of this song I've heard.

    The time and effort put into this cover is amazing, and it's done well with respect to the original while putting their original spin on it. This is what covers are supposed to be like.

      Yes. It's his personal interpretation rather than a straight cover and it is so much better that way. This song is a metal masterpiece. As a lifelong Sabbath fanatic, and as someone who has never been into T-Pain, this is easily the best cover of a Sabbath song I've ever heard by a country mile. T-Pain is a music genius (never thought I'd say that!).
