Loved watching your and rarran's videos. As a magic player who played has a kid and then downloaded mtga during the pandemic, it's fun learning about all the sets I missed
I played Hearthstone in high school and started playing magic last year. I love getting to evaluate. I made a powerpoint presentation and did my own version with my friends that got me into magic and it was a blast
I started just at the beginning of tempest. Been online since I first found it on the app store early 2010s. People like these guys really brings that lost nostalgia from back then. Big fan
@@EdderRamirez-zz5bo "Mesa Falcon" is a rather unimpresive card from the set "Homelands", however back in the day WotC made it a rule tu use cards of specific expansions in order to participate in tournaments, Covert couldn't find any "good cards" from "Homelands" so he put 4 copies of Mesa Falcon in his deck. He talked about it in a video with Rarran
Just started playing, fell in love with rakdos sacrifice and then anvil in particular. I decided to go for it despite the rotation coming soon and don't regret it, but there's a bunch of rares and mythical I'd wanna try out that I can't justify cause they'll rotate out asap
Very charitable assuming the last opponent disconnected and wasn't just being a pissy little baby making you wait through the timeouts because they knew they lost.
The first game where you were torn on how you could kill the virtuoso you could have made 2 imps attack with the 2 creatures that could and than vampires end to kill it. It worked out anyway cause they drew a land that turn cool deck😅
Lmao I brewed this exact deck and played it for a long time. It slays! Took me so long to find the right cards. Synthesizer and anvil are really bad against anything fast. But it's a super fun deck. Never thought to put soul caldron in it. Not sure it's a great pick tbh.
You could have ticked down both ob nixs and then play the sweeper to kill the double striker as well, making sure that you don't die to a bad topdeck. You destroy your own board but your deck is better in a topdeck war.
0-3 against Rakdos, Strange Boros deck I've nevber seen before, and UW Artifacts, had nothing against artifacts on the board, got destroyed against UW artifacts, destroyed.
"We can't sac these, then their toughness doesn't absorb any damage" My brother in Christ they have 1 toughness saccing them gains you as much life as they block
@@CriticalStories Same amount of life, 1pt more damage going through. 6 life + 6 toughness - 12 damage=0. Sacking a creature instead of the anvil would reduce toughness by 1.
I hate mono red aggro a lot, I hate that half the games i play are against aggro. It's very uninteresting whether I win or lose, it seems so dumb and I don't know why people want to play it. That said aggro is important for balancing the RPS element of deckbuilding, I don't know if there's a fix to this necessary evil, all I can say is that I'd dust my swiftspears if I could.
That Boros game...should've been an easy shutout. Didn't use anvils when you could've, didn't make tokens when you should've. Won anyways, but not well.
I'm fine with CGB sacrificing perfection for pacing. We're here for entertainment, not an education. As long as I can collect some salty aggro tears I'm happy.

Same exact boat. I think I fell off sometime in 05

Current editor said it's a 69-420 winrate, what CGB won't sacrifice for funny numbers knows no bounds 😂
nice
I just tried it and it helped me 4-0 through the rest of Diamond 1 to Mythic. Give it a shot :-)
Absolutely superb play against the double striking connive player.
1 is not 0!
But 0! is 1
one of the best games I've ever watched in bo1
oh, i like the new thumbs with the cards and the cool background
Played this game drew 8 lands in a row and left.
Im glad covert is adopting the " Mesa Falcon" jokes
Can you explain the joke? I just don't get it :( I've seen CGB uses the reference lately in every video, but I don't get the meaning...

@@Mr39hope Thanks for the info!!
enjoying anvil and Ob Nixilis before rotation :(
It’s unfortunate that more than half of this deck cycles out in rotation 😭

36:31 why not chump block with one of the constructs instead of the epicure? Then you can sack it before combat and drain them
Very charitable assuming the last opponent disconnected and wasn't just being a pissy little baby making you wait through the timeouts because they knew they lost.
Low-key I feel like these videos lately are a WOTC psy-op to get me to craft all the big score cards I was missing.
you got a real one in the editor spot
Hi mesa falcon guy, I see you're playing a low to the ground red deck. Glad to see you going back to your roots with one drops.
Wow that middle game with Agatha's Soul Cauldron ending careers. I had no idea it was that good.
The joy on CGB's face when he got to ruin an aggro player's day was like Christmas
Love this format of video. Keep m coming!
I don't even feel good winning games like that last one. It's like... well that was 40 minutes not well spent
Anvil and Ob Nixilis? What year is it?😂. Love these cards. Nice pile
Quality game on the second match GGs to OP
Don’t worry cgb, we all get thirsty when we see Liliana of the veil 😂
Does dragonspark reactor make sense in this deck? With all the artifact etbs you could really do some damage
Hair looking fly af, Daniel, you should rock that shit homie
CovertGoThirst arc?
Will you do a modern horizons 3 set review since it has come to mtga
Could this go grixis and add three steps ahead to copy the anvil?
The first game where you were torn on how you could kill the virtuoso you could have made 2 imps attack with the 2 creatures that could and than vampires end to kill it. It worked out anyway cause they drew a land that turn cool deck😅
Bringing back Bobby Nickels back to standard. Love it!
When I see that hair I want to congratulate cgb on his 17th Birthday
Ashlizzle would be proud of you CGB!
Intro made me think CGB should try the Movember shallenge this year. Would like to see what he looks like with a stash 🙂
ive got combo-ed by extruder and dragon's spark reactor. that could be another variation

I like the hair raw. No product. No questions
Yes!!! Ob Nixilis in the house! One of my Fav planeswalkers.
Decks like this is what makes MTG interesting not smash face decks or toilet gaming with board wipes and counters shite.
RB sac-deck history would be great.
standard actually looks really fun atm! maybe i should take a break from modern, investing in mtga sounds like a pain for a poor boi tho :c
Cgb without his hair done reminds me of Yusuke without his hair done
Gasp...not UW control?
Lol he looks like a 70s Pornstar with that Haircut….But i still love him…he is the best magic creatur there evervhas been
This deck only needs a couple of mesa falcons tbh
I love Oni-Cult Anvil. I've been playing it off and on since it came out. I miss the mardu deck that had a bunch of white artifacts rotate from.
Winning against aggro players in Arena makes my day 🎉
Affinity in timeless is absolutely busted 18 lands a load of artifacts win on turn 3
Is that a brushwagg?
0-3 against Rakdos, Strange Boros deck I've nevber seen before, and UW Artifacts, had nothing against artifacts on the board, got destroyed against UW artifacts, destroyed.
Last game CGB like "man I want to play BW. I would be so much better than this!" ^^
"We can't sac these, then their toughness doesn't absorb any damage" My brother in Christ they have 1 toughness saccing them gains you as much life as they block
So +0 instead of +1, he would've died
@@Pedro-ho2xj he would've gained 1 by sacking.
@@CriticalStories But he would take 1 more damage. Sacking the anvil was the +1 life he needed.

need to add a jitte into the deck the card goes hard on tokens

last opponent was WEAK
also I would love to know what you lost against in that mono green match😂
I need someone to explain me a joke at the start...
Three days passed but I still didn't get it...
You missed a lot of opportunities to use anvill on oponent's turns, besides that was ok
Your hair looks good.
cool stuff!
show us the Aristocrats history
Cgb try Food Fight with Esoteric Duplicator
the hair is nice man no worries
But CGB I like when your hair is flat...
Caw
The deck will almost completely rotate in 1.5 month lol

Your volume has been really off for about a month now. Your voice is super low compared to the commercials.
i like flat hair cgb, kinda cute
What happend with your hair......
!
Falcons don’t care about the hair! Cuh Caw
Get f***** mono red
Mesa falcon enjoyers unite
this game is garbage
Opponents drunk. lol
So he just cherry picks games where he wins to see how " good" the deck is?
