- They may be harder to find nowadays, but years ago the manager was one of pro wrestling’s staples. They were there to speak for those who wouldn’t. and get wins for those that couldn’t.
But who was the sport’s true standout managers? We asked you, you voted, and now the stars of the ring are going to count down your top vote-getters. You’ll hear when they agree and also when they don’t.

Sunny always has to put herself over in these Wrestling’s Mosts. Here she says about how she could cut a 7 minute promo off the top of her head but John Cena has to use a script. And when they talked about the Rock & Steve Austin she says how she feed them for months because all her food was on the WWE’s account or topped other wrestlers up to first class on flights as she always got to go first class. Or how she had the keys to all the rooms at Titan Towers and said she always had Vince McMahon’s ear. Whatever they’re talking about Sunny has to tell a story from her past where she puts herself over big time
I wouldn’t doing her being in first class, getting her food paid for (Corny has mentioned having to call her out for using it to pay for Candito to eat, and having all the keys because she screwed Michaels, British Bulldog, and probably Vince himself given his recent transgressions.
That's common with people past their prime. They like to remind people (and themselves) about how great they were.

Do you really care? Why? Whatever happened, that's what happened. As a person, she's questionable at best, but professionally, she was one of the first of her kind and did well. Sunny isn't the only one who "puts herself over". Listen to most podcasts, you'll find that more than you won't. This interview took place a long time ago. I suspect she was asked certain questions and she simply answered. I suspect she was approached to do the interview to start with. I also suspect that years of "managing" where putting people over is what they do on a daily, it's second nature. Just my uneducated opinion.
@@kaleb62patriot why is it people call her out for the people she slept with, but no calling out of the people who said yes. Quite frankly, if she's not first class for doing that, then neither are the menfolk who reciprocated the gesture. Rules should be the same .
Can't argue the top 4 but cmon now Sinister Minister over Captain Lou? Over JJ Dillon?
Yes. At his best was far better then Lou and Dillon. In his prime ECW days was an awesome manager. It's too bad we didn't get to see him as much in a major promotion then again those promotions probably would have neutered him.

Best manager will always be bobby Heenan. He was in the golden age of wrestling in the 80s. He had humor, a great villain, and personality. He was the first manager to be a star in the business. 💯

Again, this list was ruined by whoever was voting at the time. This show has a lot of potential if they ever want to dust it off.
Agreed. An expanded audience/more diverse range of viewers would serve this fan-voted concept well. Too much ECW nostalgia for much of these Wrestling’s Most lists.
@@ryanmccarthy7381 Sean Oliver has expressed his fandom of the original ECW multiple times. As a result he had a high rate of ECW people as guests for the interviews and thus also a high rate of ECW fans watching and voting.
Paul E is definitely on that list now.
I think people forget how great, as a manger he was, in the 80’s & 90’s. I think they see him from his ECW ownership and on tv in WWE in the 2000’s. Look at him today though. He is the best manager in wrestling today. So I agree that he defo deserves it.

Jimmy Hart, absolutely. People forget the music he's attributed to as well.
I would never put Paul Heyman above Sherry. Paul drew more heat onto himself than he did for his guys which the opposite of what you're supposed to do as a manager. Yes he could talk for his guys but when you remember Paul more so than most of the guys he managed, you're not a good manager. You're a good heel. The guys Paul managed were only over in a regional sense. He managed Undertaker but Taker never made it big until he left for WWE. Everyone else on your list managed guys that had heat and had even more heat by aligning themselves with those managers. Freddie Blassie should have been on that list. He's top 5. Paul is not.

Please give us lex luger timeline. I've never seen it. Only clips and the more I've seen of luger past his wrestling career, the more I like the guy. Seems like a really humble and good dude!

X- PAC and especially New Jack are right James Mitchell shouldn’t even be in top 20 let alone top 5. In fact almost everyone here can’t believe he’s even on this list as he was straight up shit. I remember seeing him on WCW and felt his gimmick was a little close to Paul Bearer except he was shit every time I saw him on Nitro or Thunder
nick bockwinkel once said bobby was the greatest manager and in ring performer he had ever seen or worked with and that bobby was better than him because he could do it in and out of the ring and many others have said the same guy was legend
I am so fortunate to have grown up watching Bobby Heenan manage AWA Tag Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. Especially the Heenan-Bockwinkel combination was I feel Heenan's best work.
I grew up in the Massachusetts and the AWA heyday was before my time (born in 78) but I can't get enough of the old AWA from the 70s. Da Crusher is my man, but Bockwinkel & Stevens were a phenomenal tag team. Both were great singles too.
I've always been a Gary Hart guy.
He could deliver an intense promo putting his guy over without it looking hokey or over the top
Gary is severely underrated IMO
Gary could make you believe EVERYTHING, no matter how off the wall it might normally seem. He sold the bill of goods for the quiet (or in Abdullah's case, unintelligible) killers. The cat was absolute money, and a really decent guy besides.

Gary was actually boring af!! He couldn't get a good contract because of that. He never managed champions and the guys he managed was mid low mid-card. Only in Texas.

Cornette, Heenan, Jimmy Heart are my Top 3. My personal favorites after those three would be (in no particular order) Gary Hart, Mr. Fuji, Sherri Martel, Luna Vachon, Ms.Elizabeth, Percy Pringle/P. Bearer each added something to their charges performance.
Nobody, I mean NOBODY, had the ability to draw heat, put fans in seats, like Jimmy Cornette. I never was even sure what his gimmick was. Was he a tennis playing yacht captain? Anyway, dude was great on the mic. Unequaled…
I used to run to the snack bar for The Grand Wizard at Jack Witchi's arena in the 70s.
well i grew up in montreal, so my favorite manager was Eddie Creatchmen.. by far. But i guess not a lot of people even know who he is lol. My grandma used to get so mad at the television when he came on it was great!
My father told me about him. Then, I checked out some of this promos on TH-cam. Not bad at all.
Sorry to ever vote on this list but they made a couple of mistakes. Top five if you have to put them in an order would be Heenan, Cornette, Bearer, Jimmy Hart and Albino or Blassie. Mitchell isnt in top 15 at best. Gary Hart might be top 10 but not 4. 7 would be JJ Dillon. And Grand Wizard, Mr Fuji with Gary make 8,9,10.

I don't think Gary Hart or James Mitchell should be on this list. I'd replace them with Captain Lou and Jimmy Hart. I also think Slick was underrated.
Bobby Heenan is number one and Jim Cornette is number two which is the correct order. Cornette is the second best manager ever and is close to Heenan the The Brain is still the greatest ever
