With spotify, it is more efficient to realease many singles frequently so your regularely put on the platform playlists. Ryan Kirby from Fit For A King explained it on a video talking about why they released 5 songs on the 10 that were on Dark Skies before the album dropped. Also this allow more liberty and less risk in the song writing, because if it is not released well, the only have to drop a couple other singles to balance, rather than spending 2 years to make the new album in a direction, only for it ti fail and trashing the image of the band for at least a year.
