- Self publishing a photo book is one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks to so many of you, I was finally able to make it happen. Thank you all so much for your support on this project.

“It’s really hard sometimes to get things to translate from screen to print” - so true. This was 100% the biggest challenge I faced when I made a book of my work for my Dad. I found that part of the process the most arduous of them all.

Thanks for the video! Can you cover a bit more on release/permissions? Most street photographers do not have release forms from subjects. Can those photos be included in a self-publishing photo book?

What's up with so many photographers struggling with this process (paper and the quality of the prints, etc)? Joey -L (Lawrence) had to reprint his book due to similar hangups. Are the printers trying to take advantage of photographers, or do they not understand the quality that is required?
Not sure if our situation was an isolated incident or if it’s something people are experiencing all across the board.

It's much easier posting single photos on Instagram and Twitter. It actually produce a book or a magazine separates the men from the boys. Congratulations

At my advanced age, purchasing a copy of the book would just add to the estate for my kids to sort through. They might lack the interest and inspiration. So, I think I will just drive over to your home town, borrow your copy so that I can drool through it over a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop. Then, I could return it and visit the original sites with my own camera. Here in Arizona, I have met lots of interesting and wonderful people from Ohio, peaking my curiosity.

Sounds like a nightmare. Wouldn’t it be better to get 95% of the quality with zero of the hassle from a print on demand service like Blurb, Lulu, etc? Also no minimum and no storing or shipping needed.
