I used to love using Sniper Kingdra with Focus Energy. You can keep dropping Dracos and ignore the stat drops. You can run Flash Cannon for Fairies, too but you probably need Tailwind or some form of other speed control.
Would 100% crit skill link Cloyster work? As a much worse Urshifu-Rapid Strike? Edit: apparently 100% crit skill link Cloyster would not work because it does not have an increased critical hit multihit move, but would that Lansat Berry strat work on Cloyster regardless?
Hey Aaron could you feature a team with cosmoem? I know you ended series 8 with a cosmog team but I don't think you showed cosmoem. I like it more than cosmog plus I think the ability could lend itself more useful in battle.

Trick room and tailwind is definitely an interesting combination. Are there any prominent teams from past formats that have utilised both effectively? I've been using the combo this season and it has come in handy
If only Lugia was a Flying Water type. Not only does it make more sense with its lore and would be nice in relation to Ho-Oh, but it would improve it’s Zazian, Kyogre, Calyrex-Shadow, Both Urshifu, Incin, Groudon, Entei and Lando matchup, while only making it’s regieleki and Rillaboom matchup worse
It actually don't make more sense. For one; you give a new (think about when it came out) legendary a 2 times weakness against electric. Plus yeah, it is called the 'protector of the ocean' but it only lives and hides in it. It psychic powers makes it being able to hide and breath in water. Besides that, it is the ruler of the Legandary Birds. It would wreck against Zapdos and even Articuna then. It really doeant make sense if it was water/flying. It's just a bulky monster with psychic powers that flies and hides in oceans. That sounds much more incredible don't you think? ;)

Whimsicott has so many good moves (Tailwind, Encore, Taunt, Moonblast, Protect, Endeavor, Helping Hand, Grass Knot, Sunny Day to name a few) that it's tough to fit Safeguard generally. It's a move that I would normally not put on Whimsicott, but it could work if your team is very weak to status conditions & you have the room for it!
I ran it on meowstic when venu was more common, it doesn't have the natural grass resist so had a little more utility. It depends what you're really wanting your Whimsi to achieve for your team
what do you guys think of running Recover instead of Protect on lugia? Lugias natural bulk is rly good and I think Recover could be really nice for keeping Multiscale live
I’ve been running a Lugia with recover and without protect. Generally things works out well. You just have to be very calculated on when to use recover.

How do players optimize their IVs on legendary Pokémon? Is it just about encountering over and over until you get something close to what you want? And that doesn’t really work well in Sword and Shield, right?

A couple of points: 1) I didn't 100% know the damage calc there (looks like Rend should KO even with the attack drop, so it is just the best play, as you pointed out) 2) I knew that the Ho-oh didn't carry Substitute since I had used this exact team (it's a rental, and you can tell it's the same team since all the Pokemon were in the same order in team preview, genders/Pokeballs/marks were the same) 3) Substitute is such a rare attack on Ho-oh (because it means you have to give up one of Sacred Fire/Brave Bird/Recover/Protect) 4) Even if Ho-oh had Substitute, how is my opponent going to come back down 4v1? Lugia can just keep breaking the Substitute with Aeroblast and they don't really deal any damage, and all I need is for Dracovish to come back in safely to win. We had a big enough of a lead that Ho-oh is really going to struggle to win that game quickly enough, I definitely don't consider that a throw since we had plenty of resources to work with (including Arcanine w/Intimidate)

At least teleport means it can potentially get an ally in safely on your terms, rather than relying on your opponent targeting it.
Sometimes i wish, GF make the high chance crit moves get x2 multiplicator insted of 1.5, some mon are designed with the old crit in mind

Lugia hates me. 10 matches done 8 aeroblast used, 0 crit. How it is mathematically possible?
Aeroblast has a 1/8 chance to crit (or a 7/8 chance NOT to crit), so the odds of not critting once out of 8 attempts is (7/8)^8, or ~34%
Aeroblast crit does more damage than earth power to incin... BUT you're +2 in crit chances, giving 50% to crit earth power which also is 100%

It bypasses your stat decrease and opponents stat increase (including aurora veil and screens)

you threw the game against ho-oh if it had substitude. instead of withdrawing dracofish, tail wind fishous rend was the better play.
