Is there a name on this French violin? My father has a Vuillaume from 1892 and I believe it is a beginners level violin. It is in need of some care I'm sure. I love watching instruments be brought back to life. Thanks

Hello !, what an interresting comment, Vuillaume was on of the famous French luthier back in the 19th century if its really an authentic one it might worth more than you think, but to answer your question there generally isn't a name on this type of violon, maybe the name of the Factory and the modele wich is based on wich is 90% of the time a stradivarius modele, and in reallity this is not a good Idea to trust the things they write inside violin, you can't really be sure for exemple it may be written "Vuillaume" in your instruments but it can just be the modele wich this instruments is based on, a copy if you prefere.

Well, both Jean Baptise and his brother Nicolas François were dead in 1892... What you have is most likely a copy, some can be very good tho
