    The announcement of Our National Anthem and the crowd grows silent, then a lone trumpet plays, and the whole stadium sings in unison.
    What happened between then and now?
    No matter the reason, it's a sad thing, a shame.

    I was there with my dad, in the non-scoreboard end zone where Charlie Waters scored the clinching TD. What a great game.
    Probably my single favorite fan moment happened just before the 2nd half, when the injured Staubach dramatically came out of the tunnel last. Did we ever shout!

    Played on a Saturday Afternoon, on week 13. Both Dallas and Washington were tied for 2nd in the NFC East at the time at 8-4, one game behind the St. Louis Cardinals. The Redskins have beaten the Cowboys earlier that year in Overtime at Washington, so Dallas needed to win this game to enter the Playoffs as a Wild Card.

  • @howardcosell2022
    @howardcosell2022 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    This was essentially the first playoff win for the Cowboys since it propelled them into a wildcard spot on their trip to the Super Bowl. Washington would lose out the rest of the season and miss the playoffs at 8-6

    • @Chris-di2fv
      @Chris-di2fv 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      what Propelled them was The Minnesota MoDown Drew Pearson plowing Nate Wright down with the Ref Right there and the paid Hater had the nerve to throw a flag on Nate Wright for not falling fast enough cuz it sure as hell was not defensive pass interference but The Minnesota Buffalo Just got man handled by The Steelers and they knew they wouldn't pose a chance against the light in the ass Vikes but still Cowboys did give Pittsburg a better Game than Minnesota did but not much

      @@Chris-di2fv Your stream of consciousness illiteracy makes me wonder how good your eyesight is. Go back and look not only at the incidental contact in the Vikings game which was *not* offensive pass interference, but also at the Super Bowl X footage where the Cowboys outplayed the Steelers for three quarters.

    The bit about “some say Newhouse isn’t a good running back” was a reference to a stupid put down from Howard Cosell in a MNF game against the Lions, earlier that year. He later lied and claimed he had never said it. The crowd loudly booed him at a MNF game later the same year and Dallas fandom hatred of Cosell essentially began with that remark.

    Redskins couldnt over come the extra 5 players the Cowboys signed right before the game Those bias paid players wearing the stripes Minnesota would lose to them a couple after this game In the Minnesota MoDown Cowboys always had the Refs help.
