Yes, you are correct. The intro came from a TV show called "Eat Bulaga" where this group won in a national competition called "Rap-public" (a segment of the same show), hosted by the late Legendary pinoy rapper Francis M.
Here is my best attemp to translate it for you guys.

Fun fact their stage name is derive from Noli Me Tangere of Jose Rizal. Named Basilyo, crispin & Sisa.
That is so classic it was released way back 2000, but now they are singing it in wish bus
Okay. The reason why filipino language fit so well in any genre is that "filipino" itself as a dialect or language derive from tagalog language is a fusion of languages
In ballads as much as possible we use Tagalog words or Austronesian-Malayo Polynesian words.
In rnb you usually hear Taglish words or if someone sings tagalog rnb usually it sound smooth like an american trying to speak tagalog/filipino with american accent.
In rap/hiphop/rock/ reggae we use filipino which is a fusion of spanish tagalog and english words to sound more energetic or festive
I will tell you i never heard hiphop songs with pure tagalog and ballads that has a lot of spanish words in exception of the use of conjuctions like "para"
I'm almost 33 and the first time I heard this was when I was 14. This bring back the vibes of my teenage life when I was into rap ❤️ . I'm more into metal now.

You guys are poets, killer analogies, excellent command of English, geniuses, anyway appreciate your love for filipino music and our singers. Yep the best pinoy rap and rappers. This song is timeless obviously
What's really great with Filipino music/artists is that a lot of times, the voice is it's own separate melody meaning they don't have to rely on the instrumentals and backing sound... this is why I think they have an easier way of tracking their placement in the song even with 3 people doing something different from one another... examples are Gary V performing Spain on the Wish Bus or Arthur Nery performing Binhi also on the Wish Bus. But also comes with their comfort performing the songs.

You should check videos when they sing it live. They have a video on their youtube channel "crazy family tv". The one with the thumbnail that says "Panaginip Live by crazy as Pinoy." For me the version they do, during live concerts is way better.

Basilio and Crispin are Sisa’s sons in the Novel, in the Novel Sisa went Crazy when one of her sons died, thus the name play on their group comes from, “ Crazy as Pinoy”

Watch Eat Bulaga's Rap-Public Of the Philippines contest. Some or most of the Pinoy rappers known today came from that contest. If I remember correctly that the Idea of creating that segment came from the late master rapper Francis M. and Joey De Leon. (note: hope you find a really good video with good audio because that came 2004)
