The invulnerability is physic based. Also why he can catch people after falling without injuring them. Same with flight+strength. Superman can also hear the other side if the earth quicker then sound waves travel. It's basically how he thinks his powers work so they do.
According to the "comics" his invulnerability extends out a few millimeters, more or less an inch and that protective field protects whatever he is wearing...And yes you can look that up,it does state that

What I loved about this show was the fact that the consistency in how Kent learns to use his powers over time was parallel to his age and experiences through out the show😭. This was season 2 so him just falling like that instead of landing is so funny but so true to Clark Kent for his age where he is non experienced and just doing what he can manage to save people. Even the fall was so ungraceful but who cares? As long as he saved someone. (Now as to why he fell faster or why he took her back to the same place HER ASSAILANT WAS is beyond me. Clark has greater initial speed due to pushing off the railing as he jumps and Chloe reaching terminal velocity over that distance is the only thing that would make scientific sense. Considering Clarke would have a far greater weight and therefore higher terminal velocity. However this is a world where a man can fly without propulsion so acceleration due to gravity is not really a law that he has to follow.

This TV show did not make Clark Kent superman's secret identity (which in the comics it is). Rather it made Clark Kent's secret identity Superman (just like Bruce Wayne's secret identity is Batman).
Theodore Sturgeon once wrote an entire piece about Superman and ejaculation. Yes, that kind of ejaculation. Since it is not really controlled at the point of happening and the typical male might cover a distance of three feet and Superman is so much stronger, Sturgeon theorized that super semen might actually achieve orbital velocity. Pity the poor receptacle on the receiving of that spurt. In the movie Hancock, there was a deleted scene where a woman goes home with Hancock and she proceeds to "thank him". At the last second he pushes her away and he blasts a few holes in his Airstream trailer's roof.
Sometimes I imagine that superman has one of those depovering collars or other means to "deactivate" the superpowers to do things like having sex with Lois in the comics or other small thing that would be so hard to do with super strength or invulnerability.

Clark saved Lana like a million times xD
It’s always that one bullet
That last one was like Quicksilver!
Another Happy Ending:)
Awesome
She would not be alive, the amount of force he applied to stop her fall is still to strong. She would be dead unless she was slowing down to or in a position differnt from that one applying equal distribution through out her body so energy can be exerted in a safe way(so her insides wont squash down to a soup to.
That’s exactly what I was thinking lol. Like she still fell really far and she’s still be hitting him at an incredible force. Let’s just go by the comic logic that he can sort of make things weightless like when he saves planes.
Shock, yeah right? She'd find any reason to tear off that shirt with wild abandon revealing those rock hard abs
