In 2017, I spent just $8 on food for the entire year. And it’s not just food. I’ve stopped buying almost every physical thing you can think of, because I get it all for free. I’m a Freegan. Freegan are people who get everything for free because we retrieve, repair and reuse the things that other people throw away. My introduction to freeganism began with 3 simple projects which I'd like to share in this talk.

You can't ask your neighbors for food and still be true Freegan. They will just start buying more food to accommodate and double down on the capitalist model of consumption. You need to get it organically (without their knowledge as to not cause a disruption to their shopping methods).
