Rammstein and Lindemann are known for their wide variety of interpretations of their songs. In an interview it was once said: "Sometimes we don't know what we mean by the songs or each of us interprets the lyrics differently." With this song I also thought it could be constant anxiety or inner tension - psychological stress. Perhaps Till is referring to the disease hyperhidrosis.
Nass, Schweiss and Lecker are the 3 songs where I find the interpretation very difficult. I am sure there is deeper meaning since there are lines that do not fit the obvious (like the rainbows in Schweiss or that he will keep on sweating after death), and You already helped me a lot with Nass. Till put all 3 together for the videos - are they connected? And yes, there is a condition that makes people sweat and therefor stink but it is treatable with iontophorese and I am quite sure Till is not suffering from it cause You would see it when he is in public.
From my prespective this sweat he is talking about is an illness which we are born with. For some it might be quite litterally excessive sweating, for some it might be anxiety as you mentioned, etc.. I view the rainbow as a metaphor for side effects, you can try and hide your illness by faking that you don't have it, but there will allways be side affects which you can't control and those will act as proof for the illness. Sorry for my bad english.
I love this song but I find the meaning of this one and also Nass very opaque. I think with this one he might be saying that there's an inherent part of him that he can't control and tries to hide but it affects him negatively in both good times and bad. Maybe?? 😅. All very mysterious. Will you be doing the videos for these ones?
The condition is hyperhidrosis. I don't think there is a deeper meaning other than describing how he feels about his condition. However, if you want to go for something deeper I think the whole album drags a lot of self-hatred, like in Altes Fleisch (Old Meat). Even the cover art resembles a rotting version of himself. I personally like this song a lot... it might not have a deep meaning but the feeling is very raw.
I think that in the cover art is burnt man from Selbst Verliebt, which loves himself in the end, while the other songs about problems woth body and organism are full of hatred.
there is a condition known as hyperhidrosis (spelling???) that causes people to sweat excessively and when not necessarily appropriate (eg when it isn't very warm). idk if that is what the song is about but I can answer that part at least

Exactly, there’s no metaphor reference. It’s purely Sweat.
I would really like to hear your reaction to the Shaman song Honey and My Fight
