2:10 Stop me from partying is the greatest translation bro i cried.
Its actually "Holding you on me tight" but you are right "Halt" can also mean Stop and "Fest" can also be translated to Party haha

I guess he’s confused bc he only read „fest“ which means party. But here the word „fest“ means festhalten „halt“ dich and mir „fest“
Das schwierige an deutsch ist ja, dass unsere Verben sich in Sätzen aufteilen. Verstehst du was ich meine? Festhalten wird zu halt am Anfang und fest der Schluss 😂 selbst ich bin verwirrt ahhahas

@@xunvenile no not really; a translation could be "hold yourself fast on me". Festhalten is also two words in English in this case: hold...fast. German is just more consistent than English but in many cases German and English grammar match.

Meine Soldaten cuts really deep, when you understand the message and know the actor who plays in the music video. Both the musician and the actor give this song such a melancholic and desperate energy that it absolutely fits the topic.
Its about the state you are in when you have been broken up with, everything reminds you of your ex and you have to shut down every little emotion like people are shut down in a totalitarian regeime. Especially fitting because the actor played one of the most tragic and emotional characters in the movie "Die Welle", a disturbing movie showing how easy totalitarian and exclusive society structures form. This song is a masterpiece and Maxim is someone who really gives you lingering emotions long after the song is over, a lot of melancholy wrapped in happy tunes. Good stuff if you are in the mood for some weltschmerz

honestly, I stepped out from listening to german music in 2017, especially because of autotune. I'm not a big fan of it, so the german music didn't gave me good feelings, I was more and more annoyed from that. I would suggest to listen to older german top 10 as well. If you like autotune it's fine of course, I'm not ordering you to listen to any kind of music, just my personel oppinion. But Roger Cicero for example is a very good example of german Music (sadly died in 2016) without autotune (mostly Jazz & Pop).
BTW: I like your progress in the german language 😀

2012 and following wasn't when Sido peaked, it was just when he started making songs that don't consist of 80% swear words. He grew up with his audience and put more meaning in his texts, hence he would be played in radio more often and generally more accepted in mainstream.
