You are so talented! Any tips on how to strum and sing at the same time?
The best way to do it personally, was that I used to hum the melody whilst I played guitar and as you get better you start singing lightly instead of humming. It gets easier over time :) just make sure you learn rhythm first as I mess up sometimes, easily fixed when you focus on the right things!
Try “feeling” the pulse of the song both while playing it on guitar (no singing) and while listening to or singing along to the song. Humming the melody while playing it on guitar is a good next step because humming takes a lot less concentration than singing. Tapping a foot or a metronome if you have one is good too. Don’t necessarily worry about strumming patterns at first, just a down strum on the first and third beat of the bar is a great way to start getting the timing of your singing to match with your guitar playing. Once you feel comfortable with that you can start strumming every beat or jump straight to the proper strumming pattern if you feel confident. Hopefully that all makes sense, and good luck!
