    • @ovirago8314
      @ovirago8314 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      My thoughts exactly. This take is wildly overlooked. Mass consumption and indulgence in it on a societal level merging with social media used a tool to further market this has led way to people viewing relationships (to themselves and with others) and life itself as one big commodity. I fear many will wake up only as their own lives draw near, and realize how much of their opportunity to live and experience life presently in the moment, come what may, totally passed them by bc or how normalized this escapism via commodification and empty entertainment has become.
      It also is devastating to see the increasing negative effects this has all had on social interactions and the ability to forge real and authentic connections with others. Though I will say, personally speaking, it does light me up when I cross paths with another person who is fully alive and living presently amidst these strange times, even if that moment and connection is fleeting. I think the more the suffering and isolation consumes people, the more we as a whole will be forced to address this issue because turning to consumerism to fix the problem is like trying to fill up a gaping hole with an empty bottom. I truly believe there will be a mass exodus from these ways as people become more miserable and demoralized by it all, but I think we have a ways to go before that point hits...

      @mennydorgesEldenRingArchive true as there is narcissi in communism and Marxism. Look at the students, and woke lefties. They are dressed in the oddest assortment of clothes and the macaw hair colours of bright red ,blue and purple etc which screams look at me. Their over the top rants and rages as well as wanting to be seen on camera and doing attention seeking things like attacking art galleries, wasting milk in food departments in shops, glueing themselves to the roads.. They will not live a normal life because they cannot see they are the problem. They are incapable of holding down a job because that means they are not number one and have to fit in with other people. They don't want to fit in, the world revolves around them, even if they get a wage for it. They want to control
      What we do, we haven't to question them, but they question us.

It was really bad to the point it gave me anxiety and depression. Social media is like a drug and I’m really glad that I got out of it. It took time to work on myself and how social media is not reality. Ever since I left FB, IG and Tik Tok, my mental health is a lot better. No regrets and never going back.

    It's not only narcissism. What troubles me is the fact that although we live in an era that information and education is really easy to get, humans have become more and more inhumane. I read all the time comments in social media that are really inhumane and cruel reminding humanity's dark times, with many people having similar opinions. People seem nowadays to not seek knowledge and education but the information they want to hear. If we pay attention to what's happening in the world, nobody seems to really care for each other but instead we are criticizing through social media instead of trying to do something about it.

Plus it’s like every time I would tell her things she would end up just changing the subject to herself or her problems so I finally cut things off. It saddens me to see that factual knowledge isn’t being shared as much as it should be. The world has become ruled by selfishness, arrogance, and greed. But there’s still hope, even though it’s hard to find. And that’s because there’s quite a lot of people like me who pursue the truth. Young people such as myself have lost purpose and a sense of pride. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can choose to be better, and we can choose to change and fight for what’s right. This old man living in rural Arkansas in the US appreciated your videos greatly. Amazing how men around the world can think the same about life and personal responsibility. When I was able I spent many days in the wilderness areas of the Ozark Mtns. I also grew up in another rural area of Arkansas, the Ouachita Mtns. Guess I'm an old HillBilly. I much prefer looking at nature rather than myself.

    This video is very true. Everything is become superficial, which makes physical presence/ conversations very awkward for most. No societal structure either (religions, smaller communities, basic role models and expectations), culminating in this 'trans' nonsense. We must rediscover each other as flawed beings.

      My teenage years were the 70s. TOUGH times. No phone! No central heating! Poor housing. But we had the greatest music EVER! Today's entitled generation have many things for free, yet most of their music is auto-tuned and dull urban dance music, and there is little engagement with the real world, just hours and hours on their expensive smartphones and tablets and computers and video games!!!!

    I’m from the 3 channels on TV, no cellphone era. Discovered TH-cam some years ago watching bushcraft channels and found yours and I mostly agree with most of your content, thanks for posting. But THIS one…you’ve nailed it. To me the ultimate example was this summer’s Tour de France. I hadn’t been able to watch for quite a few years but fortunately this year we had an app on our Smart TV (omg if you’d said that to me 40 or 50 years ago…) so I could watch it. The fans…omg the FANS…crowding the roadway, waving flags and signs…SO MANY accidents they caused, crashes, riders injured and forced to quit a race that took their lives to get to, careers possibly destroyed, and if you watch the footage you realize these selfish bastards aren’t there to see the race, they are LOOKING AT THE TV CAMERAS. They simply want to be on TV but their selfish stupidity causes them to crash the peloton. In ONE crash caused by a fan, eventually 9 riders had to drop from the race due to injuries. Commenting on TH-cam videos is the extent of my social media. Thanks for the video.

    Yes, empty and shallow is what these people will feel in time. Hard work toward truly productive pursuits, building a family you can be proud of, a legacy that proves your worth as a human being, and being close to the natural world for that spiritual feeling it gives you is what life should be all about. Tik Tok - give me a break - really? That is what some people waste their time with?
