That's too cool!!!! Wish Toys r Us still retained the colorful exterior art deco from the '70s -'90s and kept the long aisles inside. Our local to me store remodeled in the early 2k - was never the same. I honestly thought by now Toys r Us would've made a big comeback... guess not.
You've just recorded valuable footage of the remnants of many people's childhoods 🥺 It's quite rare to find an abandoned toys r us as most of them get renovated to new buildings, just watching this video really gave me a few flashbacks

And when I went up to Highland Park for a friend's funeral in 2022, this building looked unchanged to me. I didn't stop by this TRU that day, just drove by it.
I love they kept the sign up the one in Johnstown pa is still abandoned but the sign is down it might be one of the last ones to get demolished because Johnstown galleria mall ain’t doing a good job I got inside my toys r us in Washington Pennsylvania before it got repurchased to a gabes warehouse that owns the gabes stores we have in Pennsylvania etc.

There is a abandon steak and shake in mt.prospect at the old randhrust mall sign was still up and drve thou menu was still there last it i was out there.

You may already know this, but there is a newly abandoned Outback Steakhouse in South Elgin.
